I can't click allow or deny on anything with flash, like blogtv or dailybooth.

It just won't even let me click. I've tried downloading and using FireFox and several sites that ask you to allow. The mouse can hover over the buttons. Lion just won't let me click. I just bougt my first mac today, and I got a free download of Lion. I asked what the difference was and they told me it was the newer, better system (to which I didn't understand why it wasn't already on my computer). But anyway, while waiting for the download I was on blogtv. Then download took like 3+ hours! Then I installed it, which took another 30 minutes. Now I can't get over this problem. HELP!
I'm already confused with trying to switch over to a mac, and this is not making it easier.

The Flash Player Settings dialog box doesn't respond to mouse clicks. As a workaround, press the Tab key to move to the Close button and press the spacebar to close the dialog box. While not all settings are available, you can also use the Flash Player native control panel in System Preferences.
Custom native mouse cursors don't animate properly on Mac OS 10.7.
As to why Lion is not preinstalled:
Lion is not a month old yet, and many of the models being sold at this time, with the exception of the Mac Mini and the MacBook Air are still shipping with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard because that is what these models were originally built and boxed with from the factory. When you purchase from the store, these systems have been manufactured prior to the OS X 10.7 release and as such, have Snow Leopard.

Your iMac is actually turning ON as proven by the grey folder with the flashing question mark.
The flashing question mark indicates that your system is unable to find a bootable volume. The clicking sound that you hear is probably coming from your hard drive while it tries to recalibrate. I suspect your hard drive has failed.
What model imac do you have? If it's under warranty I suggest taking it in for service. Hopefully you've been maintaining a regular backup of your data as all users should. I lost my data once and it was a valuable lesson. I back up regularily now.
If your iMac came with install disks then you can boot from them, choose your language when asked, then pull down the Utilities menu to launch the Disk Utility application. The Disk Utility application will allow you to verify whether your hard drive has an issue. Usually a clicking sound, assuming it's coming from the hard drive, is a sign of a bad hard drive.
If your system has Lion installed then you can hold down the Command and R keys when you restart the system, then launch the Disk Utility application from the menu that appears.

Click to play doesn't work with flash

I've "click to play" for plugins enabled (plugins.click_to_play is set to true in about:config) in Firefox (v16.0.1) and it works with all plugins (as far as I can tell) except with flash. Every time I enter a site with flash, like Youtube for example, the "lego" icon doesn't show up and it starts playing the videos automatically.
I've tried enabling and disabling the plugin, and reseted firefox but it didn't worked.
I would appreciate any help on solving this issue.

Click to play is a very experimental feature, and shouldn't be used unless you are a developer working on the feature. You should immediately disable click to play until it is fully developed.

After Installing Flash Player 9, i can't open anything with Flash

Are you using any MS Office third party Add-ins? Test: Remove third party Add-ins other than PDFMaker. Test to see if the MS Office apps run afterward.
Did you attempt to repair MS Office? Test: Go to Add/Remove Control Panel run Repair.
Finally, have you tried testing to see if it's PDFMaker? Test: Use the Add/Remove Control Panel to modify the Acrobat installation to remove PDFMaker. See if MS Office applications launch and behave correctly?

I am attempting to access KiwiBank online banking using Firefox (my preferred browser). It allows me to enter my account access number and password but when I click through to the next window which is a secure password window, Firefox flashes at the top pf the page asking me to allow the cookies, I click allow however the KiwiBank window then goes to another window stating my session has timed out - after 3 attempts the bank locks me out 9which is a tad frustrating :o0

I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

I have reinstalled the drivers. I watched it install the realtec and cirrus drivers. Hovering the mouse over the speaker icon says 'speakers: HP'. They are actually 'Creative'. 'Properties' indicates 'IDT High Definition CODEC' and 'This device is working correctly'.
Driver details gives 'c:\Windows\system32\drivers\dmk.sys'.
There is still no sound, although the little level meter on the control shows a green bar rising and falling.
Obviously, it thinks it's working, but there's no connection to the speakers. They're not muted, either. I checked that too.
Any other ideas?

HT201210 I was doing an update on my iphone and it stopped short of getting it all the way done. Now my phone is stuck with an itunes icon on the screen, and will not allow me to do anything with it. I tried shutting it down and restarting it...same icon

I tried to update my phone. The update didnt go all the way through, and ended up freezing the screen on my iphone with an itunes icon on it. I tried to reboot phone with no success...the icon stays on there with no other function of the phone available. Anybody know of a fix?

Put your iphone in dfu mode by doing this. Turn your iphone off. When its off, hold home and power button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button and keep holding home button for another 10 seconds. Then open up itunes on your pc and plug your iphone to your pc. Itunes should recognize your iphone in recovery mode and it will tell you to restore it. Click restore, and your iphone will restore. Remember that, if you do this you will lose everything that was on your iphone. You can restore from backup later on. Hope I helped. Can't drag songs from itunes onto anything (desktop, flash drive, etc.)

This is weird.
All of a sudden, I can't drag songs from itunes onto the desktop, any folder on my hard drive, my flash drive, or my spare hard drive. On a health computer, if you drag a large number of files, first they land as white icons and they fill in as they get transferred. With my computer, the white icons stick around for a few second and then disappear. The first time I try, I can transfer 1-10 files successfully. After that it stops working. Here is what I've done.
1] Upgraded my system from 10.3.X to 10.4.5
2] I upgraded itunes from 7.0 to 7.3.1
Has anyone seen this before?
Any suggestions?

Since I can not edit my own post I'll have to reply to myself... Sorry for the "spam" on the forums.
I DID find something out (while playing with this some more)...
Try and copy as many songs as you can with UNIQUE titles. I've noticed that when you drag the songs in iTunes to the desktop (or a folder) the file it creates/copies is named like so: "songtitle.mp3."
Apparently the Finder and iTunes don't play well together [enough] to prevent several files of the same name from appearing - in most OS's I've played with (Linux and Windows, in addition to other Apple & Mac OS's over the years) there's a mechanism for handling this... Windows just adds a number to the end the of the second (and all future occurring) file(s) of the same name - as does most Linux builds I've used... Apparently the Finder in OS X just doesn't do anything - at all - when it discovers this "name error."
What I had to do (I was copying my Christmas music - do you know how many "Jingle Bells.mp3" files you can have?!) was make many folders or manually rename EACH FILE one by one so that others could be copied in the same place since the file name would always be JUST THE SONG NAME and the extension (and I do tend to keep my files in higher bitrate MP3 format for easier shuffling from OS to OS as I tend to use (in case you've not noticed) many different ones at any given time).
So, try avoiding any songs with the same title (or altering the title in iTunes somehow), or make separate folders to keep the same song name files from being created in the same place; and see if that doesn't clear this problem up for you - it did for me. ^_^
And sorry for being so "wordy" on this post. ^_^;

I can get into Hotmail, but cannot do anything with it. IE is ok.

Can I edit a file created in Swish with Flash

Can I import a .swf, .swi or .sbk file into Flash CS3 and
edit it and save as Flash. I'm so over Swish.... but I don't want
to rework the file.

compatible file type within Swish and then open successfully in

New iMac to which I have imported outlook mail files which have set up as individual mailboxes. There are now so many mailboxes that mail will not open so I can't do anything with them. What can I do.

I have a brand new iMac and I have incorectly imported 20k plus outlook mail messages. They have all set up as individual mailboxes so mail locks when I try to open it. So I am stuck because I can't get into mail to do anything with these messages. Please help if you can. Regards Tebbs

Now new mail is coming to both computer's inboxes but there is no number on the stamp icon on dock to show number of emails on the iMac. Nor is there a number by either email address under MAILBOXES/inbox (sidebar) on the iMac. This number is showing on MacBook Pro.
I also can save drafts now on both computers.
Seems the Pro is fixed and the iMac is only missing the numbers on dock icon and by addresses in inbox.
Now that the problem is less, I feel i am wasting your time but will continue so maybe I can get those numbers back.

Apple's Mail program for email - yes, and gmail.
IMAP for both accounts.
Did not change mail configuration on MacBook.
The iMac and MacBook Pro have the same mail configuration except in Accounts/mailbox behaviours/store draft messages on the server was not marked on MacBook > it is now.
'Store junk messages on the server' was marked on one computer for gmail, but is unmarked on both now.
On the iMac, Accounts/Accounts info/Outgoing mail for gmail is smtpgmail.
On the MacBook Pro for gmail it is smpt.gmail.com (plus) my email address.
Rules/Add rule window, on the MacBook third line is 'Any Recipient', on the iMac third line is 'From."
The last box on that line has my email address on the MacBook.
The last box on that line has the last address I sent an emil to (last night), on the iMac.
On the last line on iMac, no box was selicted for 'to mailbox' > I choose 'inbox' because it is on the MacBook Pro.
Now I have a Rule #1 and am not sure I should have because there was no rules marked when I took the computer in.

If you change your email, you do not need to "change" your AppleID. Just edit your email(s) on your Apple ID by logging in to your AppleID account. You should always use the same AppleID for Apple Services (iCloud, iTunes etc) and multiple ID will cause problems and confusion in the future.
