I can't close the safari at the tool bar and when I try to turn off the computer, there's a message which says that I have to close the safari first and then turn off the computer. What can I do?

Click on the Apple menu and choose Force Quit, or press the Option, Command, and Escape keys. Select Safari.

Try downloading another app - any free app - that seems to reset something and the apps may start working again. Try that first. If that doesnt work, try these steps
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

I can not get Adobe Flash Player to update on my Mac. It keeps telling me to close Safari even though it is closed. I have tried all suggestions on the Adobe site and always get the same results. Thanks for any help

I tried every thing on Adobe's site to fix the problem with the same results always. I went to Mac's site as well and was told to go to Adobe for a solution. It worked fine since a new Mac in Feb. ,but it will not update now so no Flash Player ay all. Thanks for any help.

Try to "Force Quit" Safari - either under the Apple menu or by holding down option-Command-esc.

Is this a problem with the DOWNLOAD or with the INSTALLATION? You should be able to download with Safari open but you do have to quit Safari in able to install. Try downloading the dmg file, restart with no apps open and then trying to install Flash Player.

One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me.

Did you do this through one of the Office app updates, or did you download it directly from the Microsoft website?
Whichever way you tried it, I would try it the opposite way this time, although simply repeating what you did before may also work.

1. Double-click the Home button to close all Inactive Apps in Task Bar
2. Hold the Apps in Task Bar down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close Apps
4. Tap center of screen to return to Home Screen
5. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

I have an internet connection but I can not open safari, my apps that require internet connection still work. When I launch safari it opens and closes very quickly. I have tried rebooting the Ipad several times, and have already cleared the history, cache and cookies. Please Help!!

As Michael says - a reset will most probably fix this.

That is normal Safari behavior.
May be this will help.
Safari > Preferences > Advanced
Accessibility:   Never use font sizes smaller than
Default is 9.    Click the downward arrow and select a larger font size.
Put a check mark in the box to enable it.

To find pinch open and close and how it works in macbook pro go to the apple icon. Open system preferences and the choose trackpad. Each item is illustrated.

You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.

I installed ML and I can only open "secure" sights including this one about 50% of the time. I have to close Safari and re-open.

When ML was up and running I could not open any secure https sites including this discussion room. I worked with Apple for hours and it seemed to work then quit again. I either have to close and reopen Safari a few times or restart the system/ Even then it is hit and miss.

I have deleted cache, repaired disk permissions, reset Safari, all to no avail. It works part of the time only when opening secure sites.
