I can't comment on a Blogger blog.

I can't comment on a Blogger blog. It has CAPTCHA (word verification). It keeps telling me I've done it wrong when I'm certain I've gotten the CAPTCHA right. It's my favorite blog and I've been a contributor for a while, but recently the blog added CAPTCHA because of spam.

Thanks again.
No, refreshing the CAPTCHA doesn't help. I can usually see them okay anyway.
As far as I know I'm not blocking cookies on any websites. I checked just to be sure, but no, I'm apparently not blocking cookies.
Any other suggestions?

  • Can't Load Blogspot or Blogger Blogs

A friend of mine is running a Mini on 10.4.3
When she loads any blog that's either posted on Blogspot or using Blogger, she gets nothing, except an occasional stray image or paragraph.
Doesn't matter what browser she uses: Firefox, Safari (1.5 AND 1.0.6) or IE; she gets nothing.
She's cleared cookies, caches, histories. She's wiped preference files for all three browsers. She's verified permissions twice.
By this point, I'm stumped. Any ideas for a general setting she needs to configure? Does she need to do a clean re-install?

  • I can't comment on Blogger blogs.

When I try to comment on Blogger blogs, Firefox won't allow me to go to the next page or pop-up window to open or verify my ID. I even have allowed pop-ups and it still won't work. When I hit enter to process my comment, Firefox flashes some quick message above that I can't read and then my comment completely disappears, back to the original page.
Firefox also won't keep me logged in to Google, which is part of the problem.
I've tried all different settings, and my only success is to open IE and comment through that application.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the <i>cookies.sqlite</i> file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Moving existing Blogger blog into iWeb site

I have an existing web site and am recreating it using iWeb
This includes a blog of some years which is created via Blogger.
Can I import my blogger blog (or the code from it) into an iWeb page so that it has the same look and feel?
I'd also wnat to ensure that whenever I publish changes to the iWeb site that it does not overwrite the Blogger Blog page - is this possible?

Keith ~ iWeb doesn't have an import capability. And even if it did, I would recommend you stick with Blogger — that way you'll avoid recurring problems such as these:
Changed theme on main blog page, lost all entries
Lost two years of blog comments
...iWeb's blog is simply not a robust one — see the following thread started by a concerned person which has a satisfactory ending with a non-iWeb blog:

  • In trying to erase an image from Amazon in by Blogger blog I somehow blocked all Amazon images in all blogs. Amazon says this may be a browser question.

This is my second request. First I was asked to verify my account, which I did. All Amazon images are blocked from all my Blogger blogs. How can I unblock?

Did you block image from a domain via the right-click context menu?
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • How to put some iWeb pages onto my Blogger blog?

    I am using iWeb '09, 3.0.3 (501)
There are two pages on my website that I would like to put on my personal Blogger blog. The iWeb page has a hyperlink that opens up another page. That first page also has some lightning flashes behind the old haunted mansion. (The URL links to those pages are below.)
I would like to somehow get the HTML of the first page and the page that comes up when a person clicks "Enter."
*Please, how can I do it? Theoretically, I see that if I can get the page into HTML and then paste that HTML into a Blogger page, then I can get the page. But how do I get the HTML from my iWeb page?*
    The page is here: http://web.mac.com/lorna6/Websiteof_Lorna_Alexander/TheyreAlive.html
The page that comes up when a viewer clicks the "Enter" link is here: http://web.mac.com/lorna6/Websiteof_Lorna_Alexander/OldMansion.html
Also, the link on the Index page is here: http://web.mac.com/lorna6/Websiteof_Lorna_Alexander/SITEMENU.html
and I want to put that into a gadget in the sidebar of my Blogger blog. How to do it?
The story that I had earlier intended to put into this website is now going to be in my blog.
    -L

As iWeb only creates the html pages upon publishing you need to publish your site from iWeb to your desktop and it will then appear in your site folder. Double click one of the pages in your site folder and Safari will open it.
To get the html, you can either open the page in Safari and click on View Source and copy the code from here or you can download a text editor such as TextWrangler and open your html page with TextWrangler and copy the code from here.
iWeb code it quite messy so copying and pasting it to your Blog might not work that well - it can be done in iWeb, but not sure about Blogger?

  • Using my Blogger blog on website instead of iweb blog?

Hi guys... does anyone know if we can somehow link our blogger to the blog on iweb? I would much rather use my blogger blog, but i want people to get to it from my website in iweb.
    Thanks.

You can embed your blogger site into an iWeb page using an HTML snippet and iFrame code like done on this demo page: Embed One Site Within an iWeb Page. The code used is described.
The biggest problem is the size of the blogger site and how it will fit within your iWeb page. You can always increase the width of the iWeb page, I used 980 for the demo page but the embedded page wasn't too large.

  • Adding comments section to a blog

Is it possible to add a section where visitors to the blog can add comments?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you're publishing to a MobileMe account that's built in to the blog:
If you're using a non-MobileMe hosting server there are 3rd party comment add ons that you can use. See bearkat's post in this topic: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10981895&#10981895

  • Embedding a Blogger Blog into my Muse Site

Hi is it possible to embed a Blogger blog into my website? Or does Muse have a RSS Feed?

    Thank you for posting.
Muse being a designing software, doesn't have RSS feed option. However, if you publish your site to BC, you will have the RSS feed and blog features as well. But if you want to host the site externally, you can embed blogger blog into muse site using iframe as mentioned in this doc https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/blogger-help-howdoi/Jy1sjSCTslE. You need to get the iframe code and insert it as html in your muse site.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help adding blogger blog to MUSE site

I want to add my blogger blog to MUSE, i pasted the RSS/HTML to the arbitrary HTML box, but it doesnt show up in any preview. Anyone have the same problem? Know a solution?

    Hey Courtney,
I've been looking for something simple like the atom.xml solution provided over PM but for the RSS, and there isn't one avaialble.
Because Muse does not have a "native" RSS feed widget, you'll have to use that at least for the moment (source) or you can look up an alternative solution like this one.
    Cheers,
    Cristian

  • I haven't been able to follow any Blogger blogs since downloading Firefox 5.0

I'm able to do this using Explorer but not Firefox. It happens for every Blogger blog. Someone on the Blogger forum suggested there was a problem with your cookies so I've cleared my cache several times but the problem persists. Any clues?
    Firefox 5.0; XP

Why don't I ever get replies on here?

  • Podcast Problem - how can i add artwork to apple blog rss link

    hi,
i create a wiki blog page on our mac server, on the blog page i add video for podcasting and i enable podcast service on wiki settings. Then i take rss link from safari and i subscribe to itunes but when itunes check my link, there isnt artwork and i cant change the rss link code cause of the link generated automaticly from java. What can i do for this problem or how can i add artwork to apple blog servers rss link ?
    Thank you

    Bonjour,
The rules are simple: one entry = one page
if an article needs several pages, start this article on blog entry then continue with a page made with welcome page template or blank page template.
you can change the link of the buttons "next" and "previous" to visit the pages you choose.
(select the link > inspector > Link > hyperlink > check enable as a hyperlink > choose "one of my pages" ).
Don't include these other pages in navigation menu.
(inspector > Page > Page > uncheck "include page in navigation menu").

  • Can I create a PDF document that can be commented on by others using READER

I have dozens (hundreds?) of PDF Books that I've purchased. Whoever created them made them so anyone using Adobe Reader 5 or better can make highlights and comments on the text.  I use the feature to correct typos and send them back to the publisher. I know it can be done because I've been doing it for a few years before I ever got Adobe Standard.
So . . . My question is . . . How can I create documents like this that can be commented on using Adobe Reader? I have Adobe Standard 8 and I don't see this as a separate feature of Adobe Pro. and I'm hoping that I'm just missing the instructions on how it's done. I do not have any problem doing what I want using Adobe Standard 8 but I need to be able to make it doable in Reader so others can make comments in my documents.
Thanks for taking the time . . .

"Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" or "Extend Features in Adobe Reader"
are available with Acrobat 8 Professional / 3D version 8 or Acrobat Professional / Pro Extended respectively.
Additionally, Adobe provides a server based service (LiveCycle ES) that "enables/extends" a PDF such that Adobe Reader can  be used for Comment, Review, Digital Signature, etc.
That you can use Adobe Reader to comment on PDFs means one of the above applications were used.
Because you have mentioned the PDFs are purchased PDF Books I suspect that LiveCycle ES was used.
This server based application (which has a myriad of "modules" available) is expensive so, typically, it is licensed by enterprises that need its functionality. Examples: the large publishing houses or governmental agencies (e.g., IRS).
If you move up to Acrobat Professional you will be able to "Extend Features in Adobe Reader" such that others can perform Comment & Review on your PDF documents.
As Acrobat 9.x is the current, marketed release the Professional version would be available to you via an upgrade (not to be confused with the free "updates").
    Be well...

  • Can Apple comment on their lack of support for burning CD-TEXT?

Can Apple comment on their lack of support for burning CD-TEXT?
I've been getting the runaround from the support people. They said to resolve my issue check out the following kb articles. The articles were aimed at giving me more information about ID3 tags and formats that I care about. I just want my burnt cd's to work in my CD-TEXT capable cd player.
I've done this using alternate software packages so I know my hardware supports it. I'm really looking for a complete solution for myself (techie) and my wife (non-Techie) to use and make us both happy. I have to admit, this really bothers me.
I know I'm not the only person asking about this. Please add the support for CD-TEXT to I-Tunes.
    Thanks

Apple people don't comment here, it's a user to user forum.
But you've got me interested. CD-TEXT, what is it? Should I just look it up in wikipedia or do you have a better explanation of what it is you're after?
