i really have a problem
i can´t conect my megaplayer 540 to any pc, and i tried a lot of then
y receive the message that the pc can´t reconize de unit
the only way i have for upload files to my megaplayer , its loading then into a pendrive and conect it into my mega player, so it can load fron it
pleasee i dont know how to make it work normally again, its there a way to fix it , so the computer can reconize it...

I have winxp sp2 installed
and i have usb 2.0
but the problem its not only in my computer , but in all the computer that i have tried

Battery question about Mega Player 540

Hi,
I recently bought MSI MP540 and I'm absolutely delited with it's sound and features, but...
There's always some BUT, mine is this one:
The salesman where I bought it had told me to form a battery as a first thing to do before further usage.
I came home, turn the player on and LED indicator stated that the battery is at full charge so I continued as a following...
I connected it to my comp, copied some mp3 music on it and started to listen it for an aproximately 5 hours when the battery went to low and the player had turned itself off.
I read the manual which states that you should leave the player for a first time charge for an 8 hours.
Every other charge from that one should take aproximately 5 hours for a full recharge, or a 3 hours of charging for a 80% of battery power.
What's the problem then?
When I put my player to recharge with it's ac/dc adaptor it is recharging itself for a two hours only and then simply stops.
The power indicator on a player is yellow/orange and states full recharge.When I turn the player on and start listening mp3s only, it plays aproximately 4-5 hours until it's empty again.(just like the first time when I bought it)
Is this normal or not, cause the manual "sais" the things I already mentioned and "8 hours of total mp3 playing time" also?

Mega Player 540 Folder playing problem

I've just bought MP540 and already found problems.
When I save tracks in folder structure, I can't play all folders... It always plays only one folder (actual folder, in wich I'am)... I have to manualy change folder to another one when all tracks are played.
I tried to move all tracks (about 600) to one folder, but it took about 40 seconds only to load tracks, another 15 seconds to start playing one - almost every activity is now taking about 10-20 seconds...
Another problem is connected with previous one. Shuffle play. My MP540 doesn't play folders, so I can't Shuffle all tracks (I mean those in folders and those on "root" directory at the same time).
How can I play all files in folder structure? Is there a bug in my firmware 1.00.15 or am I just stupid?
Can anyone help me, please?

yeah, i finally figured out the Sync feature of Windows Media Player, and i'm a lot happier now! i can listen to all tracks randomly, by just selecting 'HDD' and then tapping Play, as WMP copies all the music files into one directory.
and the Artist and Album options now work also! however, the problem now is that if i select an album to listen to, the tracks are sorted in alphabetical order, and not in track order
also, the MP536 is not recognised correctly when using WinXP Media Center Edition for some reason...

Mega Player 538 won't start anymore

I just flashed the firmware of my mega player 538 to the latest 1.11.03.
The prosedure went ok but now the player won't start anymore.
When I press "Power On" -button nothing happens.
Is there anything that I can do or is the player gone...?
Can I reset the player to solve the problem?

I contacted MSI support, but no answer from them yet.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to wait because I had a very important affair where I needed the device.
So, I returned the player to the shop. Of course the shop didn't have replacement on the stock but they gave me my money back. So, I went to another shop and bought a creative player instead and I was able to complete my affair.
It would have been nice to have the problem solved because the player was perfect for my needs and was very cheap as well (only 20 euros). The new player was three times more expensive and only 512Mb storage.
If MSI will return with a solution I can post it here in case somebody else has a same kind of a problem.

Mega Player 515 dead after firmware update

I've just updated my mega player 515 with the latest firmware V3.00.12.. everything seemed to be working until I selected the new "playlist"-item in the player-menu and it turns off.. whatever I do it wont turn on again, the computer cant recognize it anymore either.. what to do? please help!

Same thing just happened to my 515.
Updated to the new firmware (V3.00.12). All worked okay, I uploaded some music, played no problem, until I went into the playlist.
The thing just froze on the folders list. Can't turn it off and the PC won't recognise it.
Waiting for the battery to run down, now to see if that works.
Will let you know, but if anyone has any ideas .......

MSI Mega Player 522BT problems

I just got the new player recently & here's the problem,
When connected to my mobile phone thru bluetooth, my callers always complains the mic pick up is very soft.
Is there anyway to boost the mic pickup?
I've upgraded the firmware of my 522BT to 1.04.00 version & yeat still having this problem.
The phone i'm using is SonyEricsson T610 software version is R6C005.
Is there any accessories (i.e. earphone, mic) on the market that is compatible & works with MSI Mega Player 522BT? the mini earphone jack is 2.5mm dia not the standard 3.5mm dia....

You are not the only one with those problems. I only notice the headset jack is of the mobile phone type instead of the normal audio type, despite the fact I test run it at the counter before making the purchase. It looks like one of those Nokia handphone headset plugs, so I'll try my luck one of these days at the phone accessory shops to get some other stereo handsfree to try out.
The BT headset/handsfree function is neat, but considering this is MSI's second offering of this sort of BT mp3 player (516BT was an earlier version with USB 1.1 pc link), I'm dissappointed with the sound and BT pairing quality of the player. If I keep my phone in my right pant pocket with the player in the left one, the caller will complain about a lot of statics and interferences. At the same time, I can't hear the person talking either. I did the firmware upgrade as well, but guess that's just fixing problems related to the mp3 functions. I do hope MSI tech supports will come up with some fine tuning/adjustments regarding the BT feature. My phone is not listed in the compatible phone list, but they paired, so I think it's not the problem with my phone (O2 Xphone). I tried pairing 522BT to my PC and used as the headset, and the sound quality really requires some attention. Do hope the sound quality is as good as the music playback quality...
As for the music playback, it's quite good. The sound is clear and rich, except the SRS function which I don't really like. To me, it just blurs out the music.

Mega Player 533 firmware bug report.

I have Mega Player 533 with the firmware version 1.00.06. When I change equalizer preset and then turn device off and on again, EQ preset is resets to Normal, though player show any other preset name, but the real preset is still Normal . Please fix this bug in the next firmware version.

Crap BT handsfree voice quality using MEGA PLAYER 522BT

It has been more than 2 months since I bought my MEGA PLAYER 522BT. Initially, I was thinking of using this as my handsfree, but th evoice quality is really some crap! Eversince then, I have been checking the MSI download page in hope for new FW to improve this. So far, only 1 FW was released, and it deals only the bugs in the audio player, not the Bluetooth module.
That leads me to think that since mp3 players with 512MB onboard + ordinary BT handsfree costs more than this device, and the integration of both with the addition of SD/MMC card slot for this device will rack up the price quite a bit. But the price is very attractive when I bought it (consider it was an early launch at my place). So, the only logical thing I deduced from all this is: the BT module used in the device is CRAP!!!
I do hope I can find ways to improve it, but since it looks like it's a hardware issue, so not much hope there... Make no mistake. Using it as a pure basic music player is great, though.
If anyone could shed some light into this matter, any efforts are much appreciated.

I am annoyed with my 522.
At least 1 real 3.5mm head phone connector would have been nice.
What I would like to see is MSI backing this unit up with a range of better earphones or headphones.
It is impossible to buy any 2.5mm with a mic that work in the shops. Tiried my mda compact supplied phones. no joy.
The unit works well, my complaints are
1) An audio beep when incoming bluetooth would be nice, not just a fade.
2) Bluetooth volume passed to the headset is low, I can hardly hear calls when in noisey stations , streets.
Please MSI fix number 2.
I have not had the echo problem.
3) A better cover and belt clip/.arm clip. The one supplied is crap and is so tight the bluetooth button keeps engaging muting the sound.
Intermitant crashes , but sound is not bad.
Please MSI give me the chance to buy better phones. Ideally a 2.5mm fly lead , with a mic on for voice calls and a real 3.5mm headphone socket for my choice of phones.

My MEGA PLAYER 516 is dead

While upgrading firmware my MEGA Player 516 I get a "blue screen" a I must reset the system. NOw. I dont my player power up. Solution is get old firmware to player but I dont dont know how... Windows a firmware update program cannot find player..

1- WHY in the product menu in MULTIMEDIA we found an Video folder ?? is it really that MSI Mega Player 536 able to play VIDEO files ???
2- IF YES !!! so,what type of files that can be played on the MSI Mega Player 536 ?
3- how can i but/convert some Video files i own in my PC in the MSI Mega Player 536 to play it ? (what program and codec to use)

5536 and 5540 can playback avi and .mov video files, but these files codec must be M-JPEG format!!
Please attention: 5536 didn’t playback MP4 or WMV video formats, and also couldn’t reveal these files!!
“Quick Time7 Pro” and ““Canopus ProCoder Demo v1.25” converting software can support 5536/5540 video format (M-JPEG) to playback, but “QuickTime7 Pro” isn’t free, you have to purchase it, and “Canopus ProCoder Demo v1.25” is free, but only can use 30 days. Please go to below website to download it and you have to register and login!!

When you download “Canopus ProCoder Demo v1.25”, please modify file name to “ProCoderDemo_1_25.exe”, then this file just can become execution file, after installation you have to check video and audio codec, have a little trouble, I will explain how do set M-JPEG codec!!
When you perform “Canopus ProCoder” software, you will find out “Source”, “Target” and “Convert” selection, please go to “Source” and add which video you want to convert, next please go to “Target” and choose “Add” selection, then choose “QuickTime file” in the basic, after that, you will detect “Target Parameters” on the right, please according to below codec format to set, finally, please go to “Convert” selection to begin converting!!

By the way, You can select another sample rate parameter on the audio setting, but you can only choose 10.000 frame rate (fps) on the video setting, this value will influence whether can playback after converting video, so this setting is very importantly!!
