I can't connect my canon mp160 to my new apple iMac desktop. It just won't print although it comes up as the printer. there is no driver for this from canon who states that I probably don't need a driver for this

I can't connect my canon xp160 to my new IMAC. It does recognize it but won't print. there is no driver for this as per Canon and they state that I may not need one. thanks!1

If you want to print, then you will need a printer driver. There is no printer driver available from Apple for the MP160. And the last driver that Canon released for this model was for OS X 10.7. You may be able to install this 10.7 driver, although it is not digitally signed so Gatekeeper will block the installation. To get past Gatekeeper, you can hold down the Control key and click on the installer. A pop-up menu will appear. Select Open. You will then be given the option to install the old driver.
With the driver installed, add the printer via Printers & Scanners and see if you can print.

  • Can't connect my Panasonic NV-EX3 to new intel imac iMovie

I have an older mini DV camcorder with a i.Link (Sony's version of Firewire). It looks as though this should be fully compatible but I can't connect. It can't find the camera at all. Are there any special settings I should be using on the imac or on iMovie?
    Thanks
    Matt

I can understand your total frustration. But not all cameras work w/ iMovie6 (even if they once worked in the past). Seems to me that apple focuses on the latest products first (or at least tries to) and when they have time they update compatibility later for older products (depending on popularity /usage of the product). Might be a marketing approach ... I'm not sure. But I know I've run into this situation many times in the past with a small media converter box sony once made (but is no longer manufactured by sony) called a DA1 (analog to FW media converter box) ... The newer version is/was a sony DA2 which had Lanc control as well (also no longer manufactured).
The only thing I can think of that may work is the following work around:
    1. Import your footage into iM4 (assuming you have it on your system already).
    2. Rename the iMovie 4 folder so it doesn't get updated to the latest version.
    3. Now install iM6 separately.
    4. Now open the iM4 project from within iM6. The project will get updated automatically. Once you do this you won't be able to go backwards with this project but you will be able to use the magic movie option in iMovie 6....
    Hope this answers your question

  • Hello. can someone help me fix my little crises. new apple imac new prepaid broadless internet. wifi is on but it cant find a network???? pls help. brand new and i havent seen it yet :/

my wifi's internet has no network.

This is the iPad forum. The Imac forum is here: https://discussions.apple.com/community/desktop_computers/imac_intel
Your post will likely be moved there shortly.
Anyway, you need to give them some information:
What type of device is providing the internet.  Type, make and Model.
Can the iMac see any other wireless networks?

  • Can i connect my canon 7d to my iPad air

Can I connect my Canon EOS 7D camera to my iPad Air with or without a cable for picture download or remote shooting.

You can connect your Canon 7D to your iPad Air to download photos from the camera to the iPad. You need two items to do this.
    1. You need the USB cable that came with your camera. it has the small USB connector at one end and a standard USB connector at the other end.
    2. You need a Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.

There may be some way to do remote shooting but I'm not sure of this. I suggest you ask the question on a forum specific to cameras like Digital Photo Review (DPR). http://www.dpreview.com/forums/1032

That is just the way this forum works - users get help from other users and learn from others and like to contribute if they see they can help.
My latest challenge was typing in melodies and chords of songs I'd written on the piano. But using the Musical Typing in register C3 I inserted all the notes by playing on the imac keyboard (and written in the treble clef). The only problem is you cant insert the chords at the same time. Now I have an empty bass clef, which requires chords be inserted in register C2 and I dont know yet how to do that.
To fill in the chords: Join a melody track and a bass track, like this:
    - Create a new software track and record the chords separately with musical typing.
    - Create a new track and copy your melody loops there (just as backup, if something goes wrong)
    - Do the same with the track containing the chords.
    - Then select all loops in the copies of the melody track  and the copy of the chords track and select from the main menu
           Edit -> Join.
Now you should have a track that contains the bass as well as the melody and both staffs should be filled in the track editor, so you can print both at the same time.
However, there will be some notes assigned to the wrong staff - very low melody notes will appear in the bass cleff, very high chord notes will appear in the melody cleff - and I don't see how you could fix that in GB.
    Good luck

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this - do you mena connect to the Mac to access streaming media or perhaps you were wondering if the AppleTV can behave as a wireless extender to give network access to the PS3 - it can't.
If you are looking for media server solutions there are several available that run on Mac, some free some commercial.

  • How can I connect Bluetooth in iPad retina with non apple devices ?

How can I connect Bluetooth in iPad retina with non apple devices ?

    What devices?
The iPad can only pair with earphones, speakers and keyboards.
It cannot directly pair with other phones or computers for file transfer or other operations.
Most Bluetooth devices will have a user guide to connect them to other devices. follow that to start the process.
From the iPad side, its just a matter of going inot Settings->BlueTooth turning it on, and searching for the device to pair.
