I can't connect my iphone to itunes
hi i have a problem my iphone get crashed on back screen and it lose phone waves i was thinking the IOS has problem and i update to 7.0 when i do this iphone don't start i tried to connect on PC and says no sim-card installed on iphone disable and insert sim-card
in fact the sim-card it was in it but says the same thing can help me anyone

My dad got this iPhone for me a few months ago as a gift since I had a really awful phone before. The only thing is, I can't seem to upgrade it to the latest software without it telling me it's already updated to iOS 4 or something like that. (I would be able to give you the exact iOS version, but ever since connecting my iPhone to iTunes, my phone isn't responding so I can't check the settings or anything.) I can't download any apps (I get an error message saying the software on my phone is too old) and so I pretty much am extremely limited to what I can do on this phone. I'm very frustrated at this point and incredibly displeased with Apple's products.
If someone could please explain to me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it, I'd be extremely grateful.

If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. -

Launch iTunes on your Mac, plug your phone in, select it in the sidebar, select what you want to sync under the various tabs, hit the sync button. If the sidebar is not visible, go up to the "View" menu & select "Show Sidebar".

I have had a 3GS for 2+ years. After upgrading to IOS 4 (now 4.3.5) I began having problems. In the past week, my screen went to the itunes logo and USB cable twice -- unprovoked -- just found it sitting there like that! I connected to itunes and it did restore from a backup but it is a major inconvenience. I am also searching for answers, but better back-up regularly!

Are you concerned about photos that you have taken with the iPhone in the Camera Roll, or photos you have synced to the iPhone from your computer?
Contacts should be configured to sync with an app on your computer. You set this up in iTunes on the Info tab with the iPhone connected. You will not lose any contacts if the app on your computer has at least one contact. -

Since the new iTunes update 11.3, right after that I couldn't connect my iPod nano 7th G to iTunes. It kept showing me that it couldn't find my ipod, that I had to reinstall iTunes. I did that and still. And now I can't connect my iPhone 5 to iTunes to sync my music. Can anyone please help me ?

When iOS 6.0 updating my iPhone and connecting my iPhone to iTunes the only option I have, is to restore my iPhone. But ufortunately, I did not back up my iPhone before the updating. Is there any way I can avoid the restoring process?
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

Are you running Leopard on your Mac, Laurie?
If so, try instead updating to iTunes 10.6.3.25. (That supports earlier models of iPhones running iOS 6, even though it can't run the new iPhone 5s.)

I've looked at all the instructional help threads, done everything multiple times and when I connect my iPhone to iTunes, it still doesn't work. The Remote app icon doesn't show up under devices in iTunes. I have tried to reconfigure my iTunes settings but I can't find the option, "Look for ipod touch, iphone and ipad remotes" under my preferences. HELP!
If your iPhone is not seeing your computer, then something on your network is blocking it. Do you use any security software on your computer? Check your router to make sure that it is not blocking any of the following ports, referred to your router manual if you need to do so:
80 TCP (http)
123 TCP/UDP (time server)
443 TCP (https)
554 TCP/UDP (rtsp)
3689 TCP (daap)
5353 UDP (mdns)
Specifically, home sharing uses TCP port 3689 and UDP port 5353 to communicate with other devices. -

Are you the original owner of this phone? If so sign in with the Apple ID and password you used when you first set it up.
Or did you buy is phone used? Contact the person you bought it from and have him/her correct the problem or refund your money.
You have encountered activation Lock that prevents stolen or lost phones from being activated. As stated the only way around this problem is to have the original owner clear the phone for your use. -
