I can't connect my iPod nano 6th gen to iTunes 11.1.

I can't connect my iPod nano 6th gen to iTunes 11.1. It keeps saying 'it could not be identified properly". I've tried all the steps on troubleshooting page but nothing's successful. Anybody got some help?

I found I had the same problem so I uninstalled iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Application Support and then redownloaded the latest version of iTunes which reinstalled everything I uninstalled and I was able to sync my 1st Gen iPad and my 3rd Generation Nano with iTunes 11.1

  • How can I get my ipod nano (6th gen) to stop making a static-y noise when I try to listen to my music? It has been doing this for a week and the music is faint while the static is louder than it.

It has been doing this for a week and the music is faint while the static is louder than it. I try plugging it in to my iTunes and when I un-plug it, it still makes the loud static noise. I have also tried tapping my knuckle on the back of my ipod nano. This has not damaged it at all nor caused this to my ipod. There is no water damage to the ipod. Only a few scratches from a couple drops. The drops have been on concrete but not at a very high distance. How to I stop this? Do I need to replace my ipod instead?

Have you tried a different pair of earbuds/headphones to rule out a pair of damaged/faulty ones?  You might also want to make sure the headphones are securely and firmly seated in Nano's headphone jack.  Lastly, check the headphone jack for any signs of debris or damage.  You may need to have the headphone jack replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
I assume this static is present on any track you listen to versus only particular ones?

  • Can i swap my Ipod nano 6th gen for an ipod touch?

My iPod nano power button has jammed for the 2nd time! and i know its not my fault because i take very well care of it, but it has happened again and it is less than a year old. (Swapped it last April) and so i was wondering if this time i could get a discount on an ipod touch instead of getting the same ipod once more and just having it brake again.  Help please, before i go to the Apple store so i know what to do???

Okay, so this is great news but i also was wondering if you could swap in two iPods? Because i also have an old iPod nano that is 4th Generation i think, so if i swapped in two iPods would i be able to get 20% off?
    Thank you (:

  • Error message keeps showing on my itunes that my ipod is in recovery mode that needs to be reset whenever i connect my ipod nano 6th gen

tried several times to restore my nano via itunes and still keeps on saying that it needs to be restore since its on recovey mode, what do i do next?

Are you really running Windows 98? I sure hope not. :S
I have noticed a few others with the same problem the past couple of weeks. Many of them were able to resolve the issue by doing a low level reformat of the iPod's flash storage using the instructions in this article.

  • How can I sync my iPod nano 6th generation to iTunes with no Mac or pc, only iPad and iPhone 4s

    Please help!

You can't. You need a computer of some sort to sync any of those devices to iTunes.

  • My ipod nano (6th gen) keeps connecting and disconnecting itself from my computer can anyone help?

I have read numerous posts online about the same problem but can't seem to sort mine out. I've tried changing power leads, restoring back till an older version of itunes, resetting the ipod, restarting my computer and tried every USB port in sight but still nothing.
I have plugged a friends ipod touch into my computer and it connects and appears in itunes fine, but with mine it wont stay connected long enough for me to try and restore anything with it on itunes its literally a 1 second interval between connected and ejecting. I thought maybe it could be the connection terminal on the ipod but i have had it connected to a wall charger and xbox with it staying connected with no problems.
I am running windows vista on the computer and the nano was previously synced to a different itunes could this be the problem and if so how do I go about fixing it??
    Thanks

I too am having this same issue. I connect my iPod nano (6th gen), and it appears for anywhere between 1 to 10 seconds and then automatically ejects.
I'm running a macbook pro with OS X 10.6.8 and the most up to date version of iTunes. The strange thing is that the nano works fine on my old macbook from 2007; which also has the most up to date iTunes but is running OS X 10.5. Another thing is that my iPod touch works just perfectly on my MacBook Pro.
I have read up on a lot of forums, and have found little help for those who are running into this problem on a Mac. The majority of fixes are for PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
