I would go through ALL the steps here:

i connect my ipod to the computer, but itunes doesnt recognize it therefore i cant add files to my ipod, any solution ? ( the ipod display shows that it is connected )

Try force rebooting it, hold down the power and home button for 10 seconds until the apple boot logo comes up. If that doesn't work, try rebooting your computer.

  • My computer crashed. I saved my music in cloud and external drives. Re-installed iTunes on computer. No playlists are listed. Will I lose them if I connect my iPod to the computer?

My computer crashed. I saved my music in cloud and external drives. Re-installed iTunes on computer. No playlists are listed. Will I lose them if I connect my iPod to the computer? Some of my playlists are work related.  I NEED THEM!  Don't want to lose them!

Was the ENTIRE iTunes folder copied from the computer to the External drive?  If so, simply copy it back and everything in iTunes will be exactly as it was in iTunes.

  • Just got my computer back, reset my itunes and added new music. how can i sync my ipod with the computer as I do not want to erase what I have on my ipod

Just got my computer back. How can I reset my itunes so it matches my IPod settings? I have my favorites and files on my IPod that I want to keep and when I try to sync it gives me the option to erase and sync with computer. How can I sync without loosing any music or files at all?

    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - Make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer.  Right click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from backup

with your ipod plugged in to the computer, go to itunes, preferences and then the ipod tab then under the music tab, select manually manage songs and playlists......
that way you can plug it into any computer, and it wont automatically wipe everything....
and you can put music on from any computer..

Do Apple not have an online help service? It seems a little strange for a company so large.

  • Can you connect your ipod to the tv like a tvo?

can you just connect your ipod to your tv and record the shows that are on tv?

No, not unless you can find a TV which will output in an iPod compatible format, a USB interface built in, and some sort of firmware to emulate iTunes and/or provide control of the iPod as a HD storage device.

  • Can you connect 2 iPods at the SAME TIME to iTunes?

I have a HUGE music library and I have 2 60 Gb iPods. I manage them manually. I'd like to connect them BOTH, AT THE SAME TIME , to make it easier to make sure they have totally different songs on each of them, and remembering is out of the question :-}. I would have to connect them both simultaneously, and be able to drag songs to either of them. Can this be done without problems?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
From what I have heard, it is possible to do so. I have never tried to do that, though, so I have no experience on this.

  • Can you connect two iPods to the same iTunes library?

This might sound dumb but I honestly have no idea - I want to purchase a second iPod but don't know if I can run them both from the same iTunes library? The new one I want is a shuffle so a much small capacity then my other iPod. Help.

you can use a virtually unlimited number of mobile devices with a single iTunes library. in fact, Apple wants you to buy as many of them as possible

  • Ive been to the ipod store multiple times and they seem to fix my problem every time while im there but once i get home its still there... the problem is that i connect my ipod to the computer and it shows up as a digital camera but wont show on the compu

so my ipod is not operating properly and im tryin to fix it and ive been to the genius bar twice now and when im there it seems like theyve gotten it to work but once i return home my ipod is unable to connect to itunes, the computer picks it up as a digital camera and i can not connect it to itunes... now honestly all i want to do is put some music on there, but the computer wont allow me to do that at all so any ideas?

    - Have you tried the troubleshooting here:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - You can try disabling the camer notification
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1500
    - Do you have any camera, scanner or similar software installed?  That may prevent iTunes from seeing the iPod.

  • I can't see my ipod on the computer.

    Hello,
I know this question has been asked a lot of time, but I can't find a solution.
    Here is my problem :
    > When I connect my iPod Touch (3rd generation), I can't see him, Windows and iTunes. Just in the ISB devices, I can read there is the apple driver. I have "erase" [I'm french.. Sorry.] my iPod, reinstall iTunes after reboot my computer (I know it's not the term, but I don't have a good vocabulary), even reinstall the pilot and udpate it.
So, even after that, I can't see, only the driver..
    Thanks for a reply...

Try this troubleshooting. iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows or iOS : appareil non reconnu par iTunes pour Windows
Removing and reinstalling all Apple related software is also described here: Removing iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista and 7

  • Can't find my ipod on the computer?

When I have put in my shuffle I can't see it. And there is no reaktion on my shuffle?
can I safe it or is do I haft to buy a new one?:S

Is the computer a desktop or a laptop .. if it is a desktop, please switch off the iPod and connect it directly to the back usb port. Front usb ports are low-powered and the usb ports which are in the back are high-powered ones ( iPod shuffle needs high-powered usb ports for working consistently fine )
If that doesn't help .. try the steps mentioned in the below URL:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711
If the computer is a laptop, try the below URL:

    Hope this helps.

  • When I connect my iPod to the computer, it connects for only about 5 seconds and then disconnects on its own before synching. How do I fix this?

I had my iTunes and library on my home computer.  The computer crapped out along with the hard drive.  I have my library on my iPod and want to put it on my new computer, but any time I connect the iPod to my home computer (and work computer for that matter), it only connects for about 5 seconds and then disconnects on its own.  I go to look at the iPod as a hard drive and I have nothing but empty folders (contacts, calendar, recordings and something else), but nothing is in them.
    1) How do I get my iPod to connect to my computer?
    2) How do I get my iPod to connect to iTunes?
    3) Why don't my music files on my iPod show up on my computer?
I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled iTunes.  I have done the "trick" of hitting the 'Menu and Center' buttons at the same time unitl the Apple icon appears.  I have tried going into Disk Mode.  I don't know what to do now.  The word "Resetting" scares me because this is where I have my 150 GB of music stored and I'd rather not have to upload my CD's again.............will resetting affect that?  The word "Restore" is even scarier!!!
    Help!

i am using a cable connector like this one.. it works with audio when pluged into a stereo but not a TV.i am trying to display video from ipod, also from other apps.. i also want to know why it does not work.
i use the video app on the iPod and video stored on other aps.
