I can't connect my ipod touch with itunes?

This seems too simple but...when I could not connect with my wifi, I defaulted to a set-up with itunes. I got the screen showing a plug and an itune icon. The plug is supposed to touch the icon but is inert on my ipod touch. Any ideas?

I can't synchronize my iPod touch with iTunes

i just reinitialized my iPod touch and now, it just won't synchronize with iTunes.
I plugged it, i can see it on my computer, itunes is open but it doesn't show on itnues...
and now that it is reinitialized, it won't do anything. it only shows the image of the usb plug and itunes, it want me to connect it, but itunes doesn't show it
please help me !!

Can't sync my iPod Touch with iTunes, get -50 error message

Does anybody know what -50 means? This pops up when I first plug it into my Mac, and all it says is "cannot be synced due to an unknown error (-50). First thing iTunes tries to do is backup my iPod, then that message turns up. I tried upgrading to the latest iPod software (2.2.1, I think), which didn't help; I'm running iTunes 8.0.2 (I think; that print is light and really small under "About iTunes").
I have not tried anything like restoring the iPod yet-I wanted to check first before doing anything, and the other thing that I noticed is that I can't restart my iPod by holding down the Home key (according to Apple's own support page). I never get the red slider. Any ideas on that?

OK, I wound up going to my local Genius Bar, and here's what we did:
1) reinstalled iTunes ...still didn't sync
2) repaired disk permissions...same thing
3) created a new user account on my MacBook and checked to see if my iPod touch would sync then...it did
4) went back to my user account, re-restored my iPod Touch and deleted the iPod backup file...and then it synced. At this point, it looked like it was a corrupted backup file.
When I got home and hooked it up to let it finish syncing, I realized that none of my photos had been transferred to my iPod touch, so I told it to...and the -50 error came up again. Another round of restoring the iPod and deleting the backup file, then I told it to load my photos from the My Pictures folder, rather than from iPhoto (which was the original setting before all this happened)...and it was fine. So my guess is that something in iPhoto 6 is tripping up the iTunes software (or vice versa) and screwing up the backup/sync process. I'll continue to keep an eye on it and see if that holds.

I just wish I had not gone to iTunes 9.1 - anyway back? It crashes plus it won't sync my iPod Touch photos at all - none visible on my iPod Touch. Bad...
If anyway to reinstall iTunes 9.0.1 let me know!

NOTE: If you have not kept a copy of your iTunes Library from 9.0.1 before upgrading to 9.1, then the 9.0.1 version cannot open the 9.1 version of the library. (That's one problem with backing-up everyday!!)-- Fortunately I also keep a 1 month backup on yet another external HD. Not a bad thing to do! So I didn't get my full current library back, but most- and I now have iTunes 9.0.1 which has not crashed- YES!

do you have a back up? if you do then go into dfu mode, (plug in to any pc/mac with itunes, turn off, hold power and home for ten seconds, then let go off power.) then itunes will pop up and say it has detected an ipod in recovery mode then restore. hope i helped:)

Thank you, but I did that. I de-selected and then re-selected but because the 13019 still won't allow the sync, all it did was completely delete everything on my Ipod! I now have no songs on my Ipod when at least before, I had all my songs but the new 12 songs! I'm freaking!

I have an old pair of computer powered speakers. Can I connect an iPod Touch or Shuffle directly to the powered speakers? I would like to use the speakers in a garage with the iPod.

The speakers just have the 3.5mm plug.

Yes, you can. However, you will not be able to administer the AirPort from the iPod Touch. Thus you would need to pre-configure the AirPort Express to work at the particular hotel that you will be staying at. Note: Most hotels now offer Wi-Fi in the rooms and the Express may not be necessary.

been here for 2 and a half hours now trying all the crap that emanates from this support site and nothing works. I have re-installed itunes 3 times including 2 complete clean outs as per this sites directions. THe ipod touch with 4.0 software will not sync with itunes 10. THe windows system recognises the ipod but itunes doesnt. I get a message when I connect the ipod that it needs software re-installing which i have tried to no avail. The system worked fine till the last update of the itunes software. THere is no USB link showing on the computer to an ipod in the services stuff deep within windows and right now I would happily take this stuff and bin it were it not for my daughter wishing to have just one thing from apple that for once worked.

I havent seen anything confirming this but I suspect not. that would require you keep logging in and out of the two accounts since you can only sign in to one at once. In iTunes on your computer if you log into another iTunes account you can't log into another one for 90 days. As I say I've seen nothing confirming this on a mobile device, but I suspect it will be the same.

I'm having the same problem with Windows 7, iTunes has been spotty about recognizing my iPod Touch. Now that I've updates Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (June 2011), It won't complete a sync or a restore at all on either of my Windows 7 computers.
I have gone through every troubleshooter action recommended by Apple Support, and have not been able to improve the situation at all.
I took my Touch to the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store after trying and failing to complete a restore while troubleshooting, and it restored just fine from a Mac. Unfortunately, it now gives me an error meesage (Incompatible device) half way through an attempted sync, or iTunes simply freezes.
I even tried removing the Windows SP1, but that was a mess, as my display went all whacky and iTunes crashed immediately upon startup.
The Windows 7 OS ***** in general, particularly with compatibility issues, and not just for Apple products.
Does anyone know how to remedy this situation?
I'm so frustrated and have wasted so much time on this issue that I'm going to throw it all out the window!
