I can't connect to iTunes Match for 90 DAYS?!

What the F??
I only have Match on one account...  Yesterday I forgot my password, and was reminded that I have an old account from YEARS ago. They both share the same email account and password. The account I use right now's account name is the email address. They even have the same password and contact information... I logged into that account so I could download whatever songs weren't in my iTunes library at the moment, got my 6 (Only 6!!) songs, and then logged back into current my account. I authorized my account to play the old account's songs, and tried to get them to go through iTunes Match, but the option to "Send to iTunes Match" was gone... so I turned it on, and now I get this error:
"This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.
You can use iTunes Match on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 90 days."
What the F?? The only computer that has iTunes Match IS this computer! This is even the EXACT SAME computer I used with my old account! How does this make any sense?! If I didn't have an essay due today I would call them right now. This just makes zero sense at all. How can I be locked out of iTunes Match through the computer/account that PURCHASED it?!

So... I'm trying to install OSX Lion and see if that will count as a "new computer". [I have Snow Leopard right now] If I have to I guess I'll try a clean install after that too... Or, does anybody know if I should go straight for a clean install first, and then transfer my files afterwards?
I think the worst part of all this is that the other iTunes account tells me to "Purchase iTunes match" if I switch to it. I was hoping I could at least use that account for 90 days and then switch back, but it won't even let the computer/account that I supposedly "switched" to use iTunes Match without buying it again... That also makes no sense to me. If the account I switched to hasn't even purchased iTunes Match, then how could I have switched to using that library? o.O
All of my music is on an external. There's really no difference between me borrowing a friend's laptop, changing the settings, connecting to the external, and then turning on iTunes Match when I need to (plus, my friend would get a ton of free music in the process if they want to keep them). How exactly does this help Apple? O.o
I'll update if installing OSX Lion helps at all...

  • HT204406 iTune 11556 error message! Just finish uploading my music and can't connect to iTune match!

After purchasing iTune Match & almost finishing uploading 2500 songs, I can't connected to iTune match from either my Macmini or iPad. It gives me the 11556 error message. Anyone encountered the same problem and have any clue how to fix it please.
    Many thanx.

I've been experiencing the same problem for the past month. I thought that it might be my older 3rd generation apple TV, so I purchased a new one yesterday. Hooked the new one up this morning and I'm experiencing the same problems. I've rebooted the apple tv a few times which doesnt really seem to help. I'm guessing it has something to do with my home network. I took the Apple TV to the beach with me last week and didn't get any error loading problems. I guess now I just need to figure out what I need to change on my network to hopefully remedy this problem. ugh, it's always something.

  • Can't connect to iTunes Match (Again)

In an inauspicious start to 2013, I can no longer connect to the iTunes Match service.
It gives me the error -"We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (4002). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later"
I've been trying for 2 days so far with the same result.
Is anyone else having this problem?

    I found a solution ...
Turn off iTunes Match, then turn it on again.
This forces it to re-scan the library and then it works again.

  • Can't connect to iTunes Store for in-app purchase from one apple ID to another?

I downloaded an app on ID1. I tried to then sign out and sign in with a new ID2 to do an in-app purchase.  I got an error message saying that I couldn't connect to iTunes store. I read the message boards and found that you can't do this since the apps are linked to the apple ID that was logged in when you downloaded the app.  So I logged out of apple ID2 and logged back to the original ID1 to do the in-app purchase, but I still get the same error message saying that the purchase can't be completed and that it couldn't connect to the iTunes store.  Is there a fix to this???

Look at this link. You may be restricted for 90 days.

  • Can't connect to iTunes Match

Some odd things have been happening to my account. First, I couldn't buy apps or music with my phone. Then iTunes Match stopped working.
I managed to rectify the phone problem by changing my apple id's password across the board.
I turned it off and turned it on again (iTunes Match in iTunes, that is) but now it won't connect properly. It fails at 'Step 1: Gathering information about your iTunes library'. Then it says my network connection was reset.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Do you use the apple ID and password?
    Have you subscribed to imatch?

  • Can't connect to itunes store for download queue

I have a pending download in my download queue. When I attempt to resume the download I get an error that says "Unable to check for unavailable downloads. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Thinking I might have a problem with my PC I attempted to download a very short small size free piece of music and a small free video clip. Both were added to the download queue and started to download. The downloads that are in my download queue is the only thing unavailable.

Go to iTunes ID check your credit card details as they sometimes take parts off such as expiry date or the security number, probably a security check on some accounts. Re-enter the information needed, turn off the iPad or Mac, turn on to reboot, should solve the "not connecting to iTunes" issue as it did for me.
    regards.

  • Can't connect to iTunes Store for updates: "there was an error in the iTunes Store...."

I can connect to the iTunes store on computer & iPhone & iPad.
    I can "Get More Apps."
I can do just about everything.
However, I can NOT get app updates. I get this message - on computer & devices. If I want to update apps, I get this message:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. You do not have permission to access the requested resource. There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
    That's it -
    Any wisdom?
Is it Apple? Or is it me?
And yes, I have the latest version of iTunes.

Had the same problem - on my iOS devices and on my Mac's as well.
Fixed it.  I turned off Wifi on the iphone and presto - was able to get connected.  Remoted into another machine offsite - and the App Store worked - so figured it might be connected to an IP issue since iPhone over 4G worked, just not w/wifi enabled.
Reset my cable modem to grab a new IP address - and all works normally again.

  • TS1398 On my iPhone I can connect to Internet on wifi but can't connect to iTunes store for my updates.

Using my wi-fi as usual for email and FB.  Then tried to do my updates in iTunes but message said "unable to connect". Shut down phone but didn't help.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

i forgot my passcode for the ipad and i can't connect to iTunes because it keeps giving me error message that i have to unlcok the ipad first... any advice on how to restore the ipad or unlock it?

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
This will tell you how to restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
You will probably need to use recovery mode

I have our music collection on iTunes Match for my PC, ipad and iphone.
Can I share that music collection with my wife so she can play that with her iphone?  Even though she has a different Apple ID from me?

Her iPhone will need to be set up to iTunes Match using your Apple ID to be able to share music via iTunes Match. Otherwise you'll have to download the music to your computer and then copy those tracks into her iTunes library, assuming hers is separate.

  • I'm stuck I've just been charged for the same purchase twice but when I go to report it, I get a message telling me that I can't connect to iTunes!;( I'm totally confused because I've done everything I could think of to try! Can u help

Please can you help me, I'm stuck!
It all start when I purchased some coins for the Facebook game bejewelled & it's gone down hill from there.
First after putting my password I got a message telling me my purchase was unsuccessfull then was prompted to put my password in again which I did & a message flashed up for a second saying something about my purchase being successful but not downloaded but soon after my coins appeared so I didn't think much more of that. UNTIL I got emails showing my purchase, which would fine as nothing is free but I realised I had been invoice twice for the same purchase, so I panick think how can I can my money back, so I clicked on the report a problem highlight in blue & I'm transferred to iTunes, after a short while a message pops up telling me I can't connect to iTunes.
I've tried lots of different ways to fix this but had no joy, I can't seem to get onto iTunes to get any suport either but it's still letting purchase stuff & look & purchase music & apps though iTunes, I've reset my device & also plug into my laptop, checked all my settings on the device etc:-
I've ran out of ideas, CAN YOU HELP!;)

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

    No.
If you don't want to update to the supported software you can't use the device.

All of your computers content are available in the AppleTV section called "Computer".  This is where you will find your music.
The Music section of the AppleTV is only for those who subscribed to iTunes Match.

    Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
              8.8.8.8
              8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the  Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
    2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.
