I can't continously print 4x6 cards on Laserjet 100 mfp175. I have to push the "OK" button to manually load them 1 at a time. i have tried everything from setting up a 4x6 card in print properties for Word 2007 to setting 4x6 on the set up configuation of the printer. for tray 1 setup.
Trying to print flash cards for a test.

Great Czar, soundsl like you are having issues printing continuously on 4*6 photo paper on this laserjet. From what I see you set the information in Word for when you want to print the photos, but have you gone through the driver to be sure that the printer is anticipating 4*6 prints? If you check on page 50 of the manual it will tell you how to do this so that it is set for the default - which might correct the issue for changing it with each print.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see you would like to print 4x6 cards to your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645, when you attempt to print the card you get a 'Paper Mismatch' error.
I would like you to go ahead and take a look in your User Guide on page 10, here it shows how to load the media and change the printing preferences, although it shows Photos, you would use the same guidelines and steps for the Index cards, just be sure to change the media type to the correct card you are using.
Once you have the media loaded and settings set if you are still getting the error, continue here: 'Paper Mismatch,' or 'Paper Size Mismatch' Error Message Displays When Printing

Trying to print 4x6 cards from MacBook
I have an HP 8620 all-in-one printer and an Apple MacBook. For a year now we have been printing virtually everything and anything. Today I attempted to print a 4x6" card, but all that came out was black--no text. So we tried printing it on 8 1/2x11--that came out just fine. Tried printing it from pdf--came out just fine. Went back to print the 4x6--came out all black. The preview looks good, we checked the options...there is just nothing that tells us what is going wrong with this one item. Is there a pre-set for cards somewhere that is the problem? Thank you! Sorry, I had to put this under "Windows Tablets" since HP obviously does not wish to be bothered by Apple MacBook users. We WILL remember this the next time we go to buy an all-in-one printer. I hear Canon is pretty good. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!
Hi , I see by your post that you are getting a full black page when printing on 4 x 6 cards only. I would be happy to help you.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Officejet 8620)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in. Why can't I print a card from iPhoto?
I have always been able to print cards I design straight to my printer but today I seem to only be able to print the elements I placed in the card. The design elements are not printing.
Has this function been removed so we have to buy the card?I made a birthday card using photos from my iPhoto files and using a template used many times before. When I pressed the print button, I found that the only things displayed in the preview and consequently when printed, are the photo and the words that I placed in the template. The actual card elements from the programme (ie the textures, pictures and colours that are usually present in the card) are strangely absent. It makes for a pretty boring printout of a photo and some disjointed words with no cohesion. I have tried another template and the same thing happened.
I have also tried to save it as a PDF and the resulting printout was the same.
I may be wrong but it looks like Apple are removing the option to print our own cards, so that we use their online printing service and make shedloads of money from what used to be a free component of the programme.

Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?
After clicking Download & Install (the only option other than Cancel), I get this:
Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet 2605dn because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
What's the workaround when Mountain Lion can't find the driver?

The 2605dn has dual Network and USB connectivity. Which are you attempting to configure: Network or attached USB?
Printer on, and if networked, use a static IP address
Print & Scan
IP
Provide printer static IP address
Select Printer Software ... HP Color LaserJet 2605dn driver (not sure about that 2600 driver)
Add
Configure Driver under Options and Supplies
I have a 1994 HP Laserjet 4m Plus set up using these steps and the appropriate driver. I just added another network printer, using the same IP address, but using the above 2605dn driver without any issue other than complaint about a redundant IP address.

Installing the new os may have tricked one of the three devices involved. If it used to work, it will again.
Reboot the printer. Reboot the router. On the pad, general, reset, reset network connections.
Make sure all the devices are on the same wifi network. Talk nice to it. -

I see that you are experiencing issues scanning over the wireless network and hardwired network on Yosemite.
I would like to help you out with this issue today.
The drivers for Yosemite are installed by the Apple Updates.
Installing Your HP Printer Driver and Software for Mac OS X.
Did you add the printer as a Bonjour printer or IP Protocal?
IP Protocal won't allow you to scan, just print.
You can also download and install the HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X.
If you are still having issues then check that the scanning ports on the router to make sure that they are open. You can contact the router company to check and open these ports 9220/9500/427 on the router.
If you still can't scan, connect the printer directly to the Mac with a USB cable and see if you can scan. Just to rule out a network issue.
What kind of router do you have?
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.

Can someone please help me here. I'm trying to set up my wireless laserjet and i can not get it to work for the life of me.
Somehow the printer menu does not let me get to it or change any value in it, leaving me not able to connect to my wireless network. I have done anything and everything the HP support website saays to do. How can i change the SSID in the printer to what my network ssid is?

In your printer settings, do you have WIRELESS SETUP or WIRELESS SETUP WIZARD?
The SSID is the name of your network. When the printer searches for a network, it finds your SSID, and you choose it.

What is the secrect to print 4x6 Index Cards in an HP C309a
I have a Microsoft Word Template for printing recipes on 4x6 Index Cards. However, there is no known combination of settings on my HP C309a that will let me print Index Cards. The built-in Printing Shortcuts contains an entry called Postcard Printing, but it call for using the Photo-Tray. When I put my cards in the photo tray, it prints from the main tray. If I remove the main tray it tells me add paper.
This is a very simple task. Why does HP make it nearly impossible to do something as trivial as printing on an Index Card? I'm wasting sheet after sheet of paper trying to figure this out. I need detailed, step by step instructions on how to proceed.Yes, I did try that and it made no difference. I must admit, the timing of your reply is perfect. Just yesterday I accidentally stumbled on the answer to this problem. And it clearly demonstrates how poorly designed the printing feature is in Microsoft Word.
To print a 4x6" Index Card in Microsoft Word 2010, you must do the following on the Word Page Layout Toolbar:
1. Click on the Orientation Icon and select "Landscape".
2. Click on the Size Icon and select "Index Card 4x6 inch".
3. Click on Margins Icon and select "Narrow".
Place the Index Card stock in the Photo Tray and click on the Printer Properties for the HP C309a. Then set the following preferences:
Printing shortcuts: General Everyday Printing
Paper source: Photo Tray
Paper sizes: Index Card 4x6 inch
Paper type: Automatic
After setting the Printer Properties, you must set the layout and scaling.
1. Click on the last drop-down setting in the Print Print Page.
2. Next click on Scale to Paper Size and select Borderless 4x6in from the list.

Trying to print 4x6 photos. How can I print with no borders on LR5 with my HP OfficeJet 7410? Even when in Print mode in LR5, my photos show a border. Page Setup shows "borderless". Image Settings show "zoom to fill". But cannot print, nor even preview, without borders.

I purchased Adobe XI for a year. I am charged monthly on my credit card. The software only allows one print file to pdf after that it has a pop up marketing screen asking me to purchase it again. If I reboot I can get another print out of it. After an hour of trying to reach somone on tech support I ran across this forum. Any help out there?
In the pop-up screen, have you tried licensing it and signing in? Signing in is crucial, so it knows what you paid for.

I have been trying off an on since December 05 to print 4x6 boardless photos from iPhoto with no success. I set it up and when it start to prints my printer tells me that I have the wrong size paper. I don't want to use 8x10 photo paper I want to use 4X6 paper. I have read and reread the instructions but I must be missing something. Can anyone help me please. First of all thank you for responding. I tried your suggestion as best I could. I forgot I had 8x10 copy paper in tray and that is what my picture printer on. Next put in photo paper 4x6 in photo tray and machine still said out of paper load more. I even tried to put 4x6 photo paper in main paper tray would not take it. I didn't have any success with the 8150 either.

Printing 4x6 photos on HP Laserjet 4630. photo paper tray not working?
I am trying to print 4x6 photos on glossy paper. My printer has a photo paper tray in addition to a standard letter tray. When I specify 4x6 borderless glossy paper in the print parameters, the printer keeps pulling from the standard paper tray instead of the photo tray on top of the printer. This has worked for me in the past, but I haven't used it in a long time. What must I be doing wrong?
Hey. I'm a photographer with the C4280.
This printer takes care of 8.5 x 11's pretty much perfectly. But 4 x 6 not for me on iPhoto or Photoshop.
So what I did was I set up a pages document with a blank template, set at 4 x 6 inches.
I dragged rulers about .25inches in and threw in the photo set at 4 x 6 ratio. So... most photos are 4 x 6, just resize it to fit in the rulers.
I've noticed in most occasions it cuts off the top of the photo document when laid out in portrait.
What I do is a hit command p, select the printer but choose under the drop box that says "layout" i hit borderless printing, and a selectable box will show up saying "print borderless" and i just clicked it.
on the document though you might want to make the opacity 10% to save ink. you have to trouble shoot the exact place to set and drag up or down the photo. but once you get it, its reliable the duration the document is open and the printer is on.
i know its kind of pointless for one, but i had a shoot with live printing on the spot with this printer and its great. you can add texts boxes and put those perfectly where you want (once you set the picture so its set) and throw in another picture and really customize the 4 x 6.
i printed a postcard with the writing already in it. just had to mail it no writing involved.
you also need iwork 08 or 09. i have 08 but im sure 09 works. so if you save the pages doc as a template you can just drag in the image file into where the old image is and print that way.
command p, choose borderless printing in the drop box and click print borderless. it should work.

i promise though, with canon or epson 4 x 6 print paper, its pretty amazing. almost comparable to my prints from my printer.
or you can fit 12 3.5 x 2inch (business card sized) pics on an 8.5 x 11.
