I can't control the background color of some of my pages in IE.

I normally use chrome to view pages. I started checking other browsers and ie displayed some of my pages with a white background when the code
says it is supposed to be black. I noticed that in the "bad" pages the code is faded out.  I think it is a table problem. How can I fix it without starting over?
A screen capture below shows the "faded code".

Your Meta tags are both missing their closing brackets ">" in View Source in IE and Firefox.
Chrome shows closing brackets but only on the beginning of the next line - not sure if that's really there or Chrome making assumptions.
Nevertheless, in Code View, insert the > manually at the end of the <Meta> lines as shown in red below:
<META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="Learn more about the Athens/Oconee County Georgia area that make it such a great place to live">
<META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="UGA sports. The Twilight Criterium, Athfest, The double Barrel Canon, Eagle Tavern, Ocone Schools, Gerogia State Parks">

  • Can I change the background color view for SPECIFIC web pages with Safari?

    I cannot read Netflix red background webpages without getting a headache/eyestrain. I know other browsers allow me to override the pages' colors but will safari allow me to specify all pages from for instance "www.netflix.com"; to have a white background while letting other pages display colors as they were created?
    Will any browser do this?
    It would be a cool feature.

    There may be a way of doing this using CSS. In Safari's preferences under 'Advanced' there is the option to choose a user defined style sheet. I have used this since Safari came out to not display ads in Safari, and it may be well possible to use it to change certain styles (depending on page code).

  • How can I change the background color in the inbox?

    The background color in my inbox (well, all mailboxes) is white. A yellow background would make the existing black text a lot easier to read. How can I change the background color in the inbox?

    Themes work in Thunderbird - duggabe was not refering to Firefox.
    Another useful addon is theme and font changer:
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
    However, Thunderbird allows you to modify all sorts of things.
    Make hidden files and folders visible:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    Click on 'show Folder' button
    a window opens shwoing profile folder name
    Close Thunderbird now - this is important
    In the profile name folder, Create a new folder called '''chrome''' - note the spelling
    It should be in the same place as the 'Mail' folder.
    see first image below.
    Open Notepad
    Can be located : Start > Programs > accessories
    Copy everything shown between the lines below.
    Paste into Notepad.
    Save as '''userChrome.css''' - note the spelling (edit updated - this was a typo error)
    This should be saved in the '''chrome''' folder.
    see second image below.
    Restart Thunderbird.
    I have chosen a yellow for you
    <pre>
    #f6f58c = a yellow....it is a hex code for a colour.
    </pre>
    You can change it if required. Remember when updating anything in the profile folders, you must close Thunderbird first.
    More info on colours.

    can I change the background color when I'm in a brochure layout? I've tried making a box in desired color but cannot push it to the back(not an option, it's greyed out)

    Then you are in a Layout template and the shape is already the back most object.

  • Can you change the background colors in templates on Pages?

    I love the newsletter templates in Pages, but I can't figure out a way to change the background color. I am supposed to use specific colors so I was hoping there was a way to change the background colors in some of the tables. Is there a way?

    Hi, yes, I clicked the box that I wanted to change the background in. I made sure that the correct box was selected and not the text box on top of it. Then I clicked Fill on the top bar and selected the color that I wanted to change it to. I only wanted to change the color in certain boxes - I didn't want to change the entire background of the newsletter template. I hope I explained this ok

    hi user505516
    You could try "Tools" > "Preferences..." > "Code Editor" > "Syntax Colors" and from the "Available Styles" list select "Default plain text" and from the "Background Color" dropbox select the color you prefer.
    (tip : You can use "Your Control Panel" to make your name visible in forum posts.)

  • How can I change the background color of my podcast's iTunes page?

    My RSS feed just got accepted but now I need to customize the title, author, background color, and logo of my site. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you!

    You can't change the background colour - it's white for audio and black for video. The other data can be changed by changing the appropriate tag in the feed, or if you're using a program or online service to make your podcast,. wherever they provide for entering this information.
    The title is carried in the 'title' tag; the author in the 'itunes:author' tag, and the 'podcast image' which appears on the Store page in the 'itunes: image' tag. Republish the feed after making the amendments: it will take a couple of days for the new data to appear, though the image may take several days.
    The image which appears in some podcasts in the bottom left-hand corner of iTunes when subscribing is not referenced in the feed but has to be actually embedded into the media file: please see this page:

  • How can i change the background color in the mobile windows adobe reader app? i want to change it from black to white but don't know how.

    really want to change the background color of my documents in the mobile app. ive tried to search the answer online, in blogs and other various 'life hacks' blogs or articles, but so far everyone is talking about the desktop version. i really want to figure this out. is there even an option for the mobile version for windows? the only editing icons when a document is open are: export, home, make public, search in document, highlight/strikethrough/underline/comment and continuous/single view. if there isnt an option to edit background color, can i suggest that the makers of the windows mobile version make one, and make it fast please! any help would be appreciated. -CHANGE BACKGROUND COLOR

  • How can I change the background color in text box using RGB format

    Can some one tell me if Mac Pages (version 5.0) allows users to customize the background color of a text box using RGB color format?  It appears that the text color can be changed using RGB but background color is limited to a few standard colors.   Thanks

    They are just sample swatches, use the Color Picker to choose anything you want.

    you can change iweb navbar any which way you want, as long as you know iweb widgets:
    http://iwebwidgets.cyclosaurus.com/iWebNavBar/BkgndColor.html
    you won't see the change in iweb, you only see it in published site.

  • Can you specify the background color when resizing the canvas?

    I haven't found this in the Scripting Reference.
    In the "Canvas Size…" dialog box you can specify the "Canvas Extension Color" to "Foreground", Background", "White", "Black", "Grey" or "Other…".
    Can this be scripted?
    I am writing an AppleScript to resize my canvas in order to add a slug to the bottom of the image. Currently my script stores the background color, so I can change it to White to accomplish my goal without discarding the background color (which gets restores at the end of the script). The problem is that if the user has a custom color (i.e. Pantone color) as the background color, the color does not get stored.

    See if this works for you… Just some very basic AppleScript with a call to 'do javascript' in this case the variable 'Solid_Fill' this is a cleaned up piece of scriptlistener output (done very nicely by X's tools you will see a post below to the latest release of this) The scriptlistener output has been turned into a function that javascript can call. Inside of the function call I have put a list arguments passed from AppleScript. So the values 0, 0, 0, 0 in the AppleScript list end up as arguments passed to the functions C, M, Y, K variables. AppleScript objects are 1 based Javascript are 0 based & values the same.
    set Solid_Fill to "function solidFillCMYK(C, M, Y, K) {
    function cTID(s) { return app.charIDToTypeID(s); };
    function sTID(s) { return app.stringIDToTypeID(s); };
    var desc8 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var ref4 = new ActionReference();
    ref4.putClass( sTID('contentLayer') );
    desc8.putReference( cTID('null'), ref4 );
    var desc9 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var desc10 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var desc11 = new ActionDescriptor();
    desc11.putDouble( cTID('Cyn '), C );
    desc11.putDouble( cTID('Mgnt'), M );
    desc11.putDouble( cTID('Ylw '), Y );
    desc11.putDouble( cTID('Blck'), K );
    desc10.putObject( cTID('Clr '), cTID('CMYC'), desc11 );
    desc9.putObject( cTID('Type'), sTID('solidColorLayer'), desc10 );
    desc8.putObject( cTID('Usng'), sTID('contentLayer'), desc9 );
    executeAction( cTID('Mk  '), desc8, DialogModes.NO );
    }; solidFillCMYK(arguments[0], arguments[1], arguments[2], arguments[3]);"

    set ruler units of settings to pixel units
