I can't deactivate premiere elements 9

I have premiere elements installed on a macbook and pc.  I want to deactivate one account and install on new macbook pro.  I have read the instructions however when I go to help button deactivate is not highlighted on either the pc or mac.

Wish I had come here before contacting Adobe for support. They didn't mention this at all, only told me to contact them if I have problems re-activating on new computer.

What are the computer operating systems involved? Are you installing from installation files (from online download purchase) or from installation disc
(from purchase in boxed packaging)? Answers to those questions would probably get you the best possible answer to your question.
    If installation files.....
You are not going to be able to install a Premiere Elements Windows purchased serial number on a Mac computer or a Premiere Elements Mac
purchased serial number on a Windows computer.
    If installation discs...
Box packaging typically comes with two installation discs....one for Windows and one for Mac. In this type of situation, typically you use one
serial number for them both. If that is the case, then the following applies...
Adobe allows you to use the same purchased activated serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. And, you do not use them at the same time.
If you are dealing with two computers with the same operating system, then you should be able to use that same purchased serial number for that operating system on no more than 2 of your computers. Again, you do not use them at the same time.
Please let us know if any questions or need clarification.
    Thanks.

  • Windows\system32\QUARTZ.dll can't open in Windows.  Can't use Premiere Elements.

I am looking for a way to get a solution to this error which keeps preventing me from opening my Premiere Elements 11 program.  I have previously used the program without any problems.  But last week I had a new HDD installed in my laptop (Dell Studio XPS 1640 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit).  Now I can't open Premiere Elements and can't edit my videos.
When I try to open the program, I get an error which reads:
Font Capture: Adobe Premiere Elements.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\system32\QUARTZ.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original instalation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support
My computer technician did use an image of my laptop to transfer everything onto the new HDD.  I have no idea if that is relevant to this software problem.
I posted this question previously and was directed to a link which instructed me to update my DirectX and other graphics drivers.  I did all that already.  I still can't open Premiere Elements.  I want to ask Adobe Support, but since they just launched Premiere Elements 12, I guess I no longer get direct support from Adobe? Not sure but that is how it seems to work.  I will try any advice given to resolve this issue, if anyone has ideas.
    Thanks!
    Janeen

Did you try reinstalling as indicated by the error message?  Transferring images is not a good way to install Adobe programs.

  • Can I download Premiere Elements 7 trial?

Does anybody know where can I download Premiere Elements 7 trial? My school is using Premiere Elements 7 and I'm afraid I'm going to have compatibility issues with Elements 9 and 7.

That might be a tough one, as PrE 7 is now two years and two versions old, I would anticipate that the trial downloads are long gone.
Also remember, any Project done in any "trial" version will be watermarked, so you might not be happy with the results. This FAQ Entry will tell you more about the watermark.
Good luck, and I hope that someone else might have a URL to the download, but I would not hold my breath, due to the age of that version.

Please define what you mean by
I can not get Premiere Elements 11 to work on my Windows 7 , proffessional computer.
Can you not install the program? If you cannot, how are you installing it, from an installation disc or installation files from Adobe? Are you looking at the tryout or a purchased product? At what stage of the installation are you blocked and with what messages? Do you have the anti-virus and firewalls turned off? Do you have another other computer protective software installed such as NetNanny?
If you are getting through the installation OK, are you able to Sign In after the installation and restart of the computer?
If you get into the opened project, when does the problem first manifest itself? Is the problem in a new project or in an existing one?
Is the problem in one of the editing features?
Is the problem in one of the export choices?

The answers will be in the details which allow us to help you.

  • How can I download Premiere Elements 11 on my new computer, since my previous computer broke down?

This summer I bought and downloaded Premiere Elements 11 to my previous computer, which a few months later broke down.
How can I download Premiere Elements 11 to my new computer?
In my Adobe account, I see the product listed with the serial number - but the specific download is "not applicable"...

    Klavs Hansen
Did you download and purchase the original installation files from Adobe? Did your old computer have a Windows operating system? Does your new computer have a Windows operating system?
I suggest that you contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=downloading-installing -and-setting-up
When the link opens, click on "I still need help." to bring up the Adobe Chat.
Alternatively, you could download the files from the following and then insert your purchased serial number.
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
Read the instructions carefully. In such a try, I am assuming that both old and new computers involve the Windows.

  • How can I deactivate Photoshop Elements 12 on my current computer so that I can re-install it on a new computer ?

Photoshop Elements 12 is currently installed on a a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop with Windows 7 64 bits and I wish to deactivate it in order to re-install it on a much bigger/powerful machine.
I found no indication whatsoever on Adobe site for this question. The chain of questions on the site keeps taking me round and round until I reached this forum, which is where I started from !!!
Can somebody tell me how this can be done ?
Please DO NOT tell me to follow the path of questions until I get somewhere : this is juest what I have been doing for half an hour !!!

    Many thanks Brian !
Quick reply, simple process (two clicks). Why is it so difficult to find the answer ? Too simple ?
As a matter of fact it is a question of vocabulary : “sign out” and “deactivate” is NOT AT ALL  the same thing (I’ve been  for many years an editor of English versions of international standards and regulations, and happen to know what words mean ). All the more as I have just discovered in the “Uninstall” process that the word “deactivate” is used https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/uninstall-premiere-elements-photoshop-elemen ts.html
In French (my language), the Help menu reads “Deconnecter” which means something like “exit” or “sign out”. For me it meant either “leave the programm” or “disconnect from the help service”. Anyhow, it’s not an option you would use not knowing what the result would be : there is no suspension point on that line.
And the Help answer on Adobe’s site (in French) reads :
“Si vous souhaitez installer le logiciel sur un troisième ordinateur, désactivez-le sur l’ordinateur sur lequel vous n’allez plus l’utiliser. Ensuite, activez le logiciel sur le nouvel ordinateur.”
It does not use the word in the menu (déconnecter = disconnect).
Approximations like this could be a matter of life and death . In a french movie dramatizing the war in Algeria “L’honneur d’un Capitaine”, soldiers uphill in the mountains radio their captain – in the valley - to let him know they have captured the man they were looking for. He just says “Descendez-le”, which means “bring him down” or “Shoot him”. He meant of course “Bring him down”. The man was shot to death.
It looks like no one on the forum know the real answer. Do you think you could help correct this ? A simple phrase like : “check (or look up) uninstall process” would do.
    Regards
    Dominique

  • Do I need to deactivate Premiere Elements 7 on Vista in order to upgrade to Win7?

    Hi there.
I have a quick question. I bought Premiere Elements 7 last month and here is the situation.
I will be installing it on my laptop. That part is fine.
I just bought a Dell desktop computer and would like to install it on there as well. BUT, when Windows 7 comes out, I plan to upgrade to that from Vista. So I would like to install on the desktop for Vista, and then on Windows 7.
My question:  Is there an activation? How would I do that? Just install the program and then the activation code (is it verified online)? And when I upgrade to Windows 7, I 'deactivate' it or something?
    Thanks,
    Ronald

You can activate this software on 2 computers but cannot use the software on both the systems at the same time.
You can activate a product in maximum two computers. Hence, in order to activate a product on third computer, first you need to deactivate the software in the previous computer.

  • Need to deactivate Premiere Elements 10?

I got a new laptop and downloaded my Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10. However, I got a message when I opened Premiere telling me that I needed to deactivate it on another computer. But I can't figure out how to deactivate!
Also, I'm not sure if it's connected with my needing to deactivate or if it's just the computer, but I can't use any of the links on the Premiere menu on the old laptop, and I can't log in to my Adobe ID on either.
    Can someone help me out?
PS: If it matters any, my new laptop is running on Windows 8 and the old one is 7.

    TsukiNaito1
Adobe permits you to use your Premiere Elements 10 purchased serial number on only 2 of your computers. If you want to put that serial number on a 3rd computer then you have to "Deactivate" the installation on computer 1 or 2 to get this Premiere Elements 10 purchased serial number on computer 3.
By the message that you are getting on computer 3, you are telling us that your Premiere Elements 10 is on more than 2 of your computers already (computer 1 and 2) and you want to install it on another (the 3rd computer).
So, where do you have Premiere Elements 10 installed?
Go to one of those Premiere Elements 10 computer setups. Open Premiere Elements 10 to its workspace. Go to Help Menu/Deactivate and click on Deactivate to do just that. Close out of there. At this point, you can
    a. leave the program installed but deactivated on computer 1 or 2 as the case may be
    or
    b. uninstall it from computer 1 or 2 as the case mya be.
Please review and let us know if the above is clear and works for you.
    Thanks.
