I can't deauthorize computers in my account.

Hi, I need help. I've already used up all available 5 authorizations for computers with my apple id. Now that I got a new pc, I cannot deauthorize any of those previous computers. I followed the instructions step by step on how to deauthorize; also googled for answers but in vain.
Everytime I click on 'deauthorize all' I get the error: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-1202)" Now I'm stuck with this and I really need to sync my iPhone.
Please help me on this. I'm quite sure there must be some way to solve this. Guys! Apple! Need help here. I do no want to switch to another apple id; I will lose all my purchases.

Check your computer's date and time and time zone selection. If incorrect, correct it followed by restarting your computer.

I quite agree. Unfortunately, I don't know of an app that turns off a young child, remotely. Perhaps you should give Apple a call to see if they can't help you out:

  • How can I deauthorize computers if I don't have any of them anymore

BHow can I deauthorize computers if I don't have any of them anymore

You need to deauthorize all computers and then reauthorize the ones you still have. See the quote below from Deauthorize your computer using iTunes - Apple Support
My computer doesn't work anymore. Can I deauthorize it?
You can't deauthorize a single computer if you don't have it or can't use it. Instead, you need to deauthorize all computers and then reauthorize the ones you're still using.

  • Catch 22 Can't deauthorize computers with my iPad

I had downloaded an app onto my iPad. When I connected it to iTunes it asked me if I wanted to activate this computer to be able to add the app to the apps in iTunes. I confirmed that, entered my password and got the error message that I had activated my account already on 5 computers and I should deactivate one of the other computers.
When I checked my account in iTunes it showed that 4 machines are authorized.
Dear iTunes programmers: do I have 4 or 5 computers activated?
And how can I activate this computer if I can't deauthorize the others?

send an email to the iTS customer service using this form and ask the folks there to help you sort it out.

  • HT1420 My Laptop was stolen and I am unable to deauthorize it. How can I deauthorize computers I no longer have access to?

How can I authorize my new laptop when my old laptop was stolen and I am unable to deauthorize it? There are three other computers apparently on my account that I also am no aware of , nor do I have access to. I am unable to add any new computers to my account.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. Otherwise you can "deauthorize all" from your iTunes account.
    Open iTunes on a computer
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "Deauthorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "deauthorize all" your authorized computers, authorize each one as required.

  • How can I deauthorize computers that I no longer own or have access to?

I need to deauthorize computers that I no longer own or have access to. How can I do this?
    Thanks

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Can't deauthorize computers even though max amount of computers are used

I can't play a lot of my music after switching to a new computer, a pop up in iTunes says I have 5 computers already authorized. But when I go to my iTunes account it says I only have 4 authorized and therefore can't deauthorize any so I'm stuck without my music!

I have a similar problem, but I believe a different cause. Yes, I replaced 4 macs in the past 2 1/2 years, and neglected to deauthorize any of them. I've been using the same .mac account since 2007. I cannot deauthorize these discarded/broken machines, and worse, I can't play some songs purchased legitimately through iTunes, as Apple never merged the information from my old ISP email accounts to my current one, the .mac account. I must have at least three old email accounts, including 2 .mac, that I cannot remember.
Because one cannot reach a human over iTunes matters, I'm stuck, unless someone here has an answer.

  • Can't deauthorize computers that are no longer with us

I am in a bind. I am an instructor at a university (that's only part of my bind). Last year, I put iTunes on 4 classroom computers as well as my office computer. Over the summer, the IT folks upgraded to new machines in the classrooms and I got a new one in my office. I didn't remember to deauthorize any of them before they dissapeared.
Now, I can't listen to music that I paid for. Is there a work-around for this?

If you have run out oc authorisation becuse you have used up all five, you can deauthorise all your computers from your store account.
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/authorization/
Look under: How do I deauthorize all of my computers?
You can only do this once a year, so you need to remember to deauthorize PC that are not in use or going to be upgraded.

  • HT1420 I have used up the amout of authorized computers for one account, however two of them have crashed. How can I deauthorize those two without having to deauthorize the other three?

I have completed my list of 5 computers authorized. I am trying to authorize another one but I need to get rid of two authorized computers which hard disks have crashed. How can I deauthorize those two without affecting the other three?

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

  • TS1368 I have authorized 5 computers for my itunes account and cannot authorize any more computers.  However, two of my computers had hard drive crashes and I can't go to those computers to deauthorize them so I can add new computers.  How do I do that?

I have authorized over the past years a total of 5 computers, two of which bit the dust.  Apple will not allow me to authorize any more computers because I've maxed out the limit of 5.  According to the instructions, I must deauthorize the two computers that crashed to allo any more computers to share my music, videos, etc.  I can't deauthorize the two hard drives that "crashed", so how can I authorize any more computers?  Help.

Once per year you can deauthorize all five computers regardless of whether they are still in service or no longer in your possession. You can then reauthorize the computers you still use.
In iTunes Store click on the Account link under Quick Links.

  • I have a new computer and I can't access my Itunes account.  The message says that I am allowed to have only 5 authorized computers on this account.  I do not have 5 authorized computers on my account.  What can I do?

I have a new computer and I can't access my Itunes account.  The message says I can't have more than 5 computers on this account and I don't.  What can I do?

First of all you should really post this in Itunes forums cause you might get more hits on it.. Anyway.. You can only authorize up to 5 comps on one itunes account.. This does not include iOS devices. Those you can have 10.
So to fix this issue, open itunes, hit store on the left side, click log in (or your e-mail address if you are already logged in) in the top right hard corner of the page. One you log into your account you will see a a little area where it says you authorized 5 out of 5 comps. Below it should be a button to clear all those out.  Itunes will de-authorize all computers on the account then you need to go back Store tab in the menu bar and select authorize this computer.
Remember it will deauthorize all your computers, so you need to re-authorize any other computers you have.

EVERYTIME I reformat I have to authorize the same computer and so it takes up one of my 5 authorized computers... Anyways after deauthorizing all my computers in september I was not aware I couldn't do it for another year (why does APPLE assume these stupid tactics prevent piracy). Anywysw I need to reach apple and have them make it so I can do it again. I had a similar problem with Playstation and when I called them they fixed it for me... even windows (which you can only have one serial per computer) made it easy because all I had to do was call them and they fixed it for me. Now I need APPLE to do the same and this is the only place I could see to actually say what is going on... I can't believe I have to do this with my iPhone... I wanted an mp3 player and a phone together and if I can't put new songs until September 20, 2012 I am going to freak out!

  • I'm a pc tech, I go through computers like water buying and selling. Apple says I can only "deauthorize all computers" once a year. Over time, I've authorized the 5 that Apple allows, now I can't even authorize the one I'm currently using. WTH DO I DO????

I've had constant problems with syncing, I don't understand why Apple can't just make a simple interface where I can sync what's on my iPhone to a new computer, thereby creating a "library" of what I have on my phone already.  Obviously, what I have on my phone is what the heck I want on my phone.  I'm a pc tech, I go through several computers a year because I buy and sell and repair them.  Apple won't let me "deauthorize" computers until NOVEMBER, and it won't let me "Authorize" the desktop I just built for myself.  The new iPhone OS is about to debut, and I can't even sync this phone to my new computer or new itunes.  THis is ridiculously complicated and frustrating as ****.  If I didn't like the iPhone so much, I'd never bother with all this hassle.  And Apple wonders why suddenly about 70% of the market now belongs to ANDROID users. What do I have to do, Call customer support to get my account straight???? TOTALLY disgusted with this whole thing.

iPhones are not, nor have they every been storage devices.  They are merely mirrors of the content in the users iTunes library.  As such, syncing is one way, computer to iDevice.

Learn to deauthorize them before taking them out of service.  Sorry, but the scenario describe above is not "normal" and I cannot imagine any user buying a used computer from a so-called tech that he built for himself.  If building computers for customers, build them for the customer and keep your data off of them.

Again, had the previous computers been de-authorized this would be a none issue.  A call to iTunes Customer Support may provide a way around the one year limit on deauthorizing all computers.

    No, it's not.

In that case, READ the User's Guide and educate yourself on how to use the device as designed.  Or find a competent tech to explain it in a way that you can understand it.
