I can't delete a tv show from my ipad

I have a tv show that is not showing up on my ipad, but itunes says it has been downloaded onto my ipad. I tried to delete it using settings, but it is not showing up. I only see it in itunes when I connect. Any good suggestions?

Then it is not on the iPad. You are seeing it in the iTunes library on your computer. If it was on the iPad, you would see it in the Videos App or in Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Videos>TV Shows. If you want to delete it from iTunes, click on the TV Shows icon at the top left of the iTunes window, then right click on the TV show icon and select Delete.

How did they get on the iPad ? Only albums created directly on the iPad can be deleted via the Edit button.
Albums/photos that were synced from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app - you either need to move/remove/de-select them from where they were synced from on your computer and re-sync, or you might be able to delete all synced photos/albums by swiping across the 'Photo Library' line in Settings > General > Usage > Photos & Camera (that should give you a Delete button, but I haven't tried tapping it to see if it works).

The first part of your answer worked great, thanks for that! However, since doing that, there are still songs on the iPad that I want to delete. I place my finger on the song, swipe to the left....and nothing. No red "delete" appears at the right. That used to work on my full size iPad, but not on this mini. I just purchased it last Friday...maybe it's defective?

Interesting note: I can see the files when I use the search function, but when I tap either file, I return to my home screen. The video does not open. I can transfer the file to my MBA, and it plays fine, but I cannot figure out a way to delete them.

I've updated to the latest software update and done a network reset on my ipad. But nothing seems to work. Also my ipad doesn't allow me to update any applications. i think there might be something wrong with my account.

If you are stuck trying to remove your iCloud account, then try restoring your iPad. Start with turning off Find My iPad and then use iTunes to restore it. Check out the article below for the steps on how to do that.

You will need to keep them in folder on your hard drive somewhere other than in iTunes or they will be deleted from iTunes if you delete them from the device. I have a folder on my Mac called iPad Pages Documents - very original don't you think!

You can turn off photo stream via Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream 'off' , I don't think that it is possible to remove individual photo stream photos. From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486 :
Individual photos cannot be deleted from your Photo Stream. You can, however, delete all the photos in your Photo Stream by clicking the Reset Photo Stream button in your account at icloud.com. The Reset Photo Stream button will instantly delete all Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud, but it will not remove any Photo Stream photos that have already been pushed to your devices.
After deleting the photos from your Photo Stream in iCloud, you can remove the Photo Stream photos from your devices as follows:
On your iOS devices, go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream and turn Photo Stream off. This will delete all the photos from your Photo Stream album. If there are any photos you want to keep on your device, make sure to add them to an album or save them to your Camera Roll first.

I've been using EyeTV to export TV shows to iTunes so that I can watch those shows on my Apple TV 2. It works great, but when I'm done watching a show on my Apple TV 2, I'd like to delete the show from my iTunes library. As far as I know, I have to actually go to my mac and delete the show in the iTunes program to remove it. I'd like to be able to delete that show from my iTunes library using either Apple TV or my iPhone. Is there a way to do that? Similar to how you can delete a show from your Tivo or other DVR just using your remote.
(Trying to improve the ease of using the eyetv --> itunes --> apple TV combo to replace our Dish Network DVR.)

You can press and hold a film or tv show on the selection screen in the Videos app and after a second or two you should get an 'x' on its top left corner.
Have you got copies of them on your computer's iTunes ? They can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even in those where they can be there is no guarantee that they will remain in the store for future re-downloading - so you may want to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup (assuming that you might what to watch them again).

I have same problem, you can only delete one song at a time but if you chose the one without the icloud on the right, slide finger from right to left on the song, red delete box appears, click delete, this will remove that song only and leave the other icloud songs in place. Long job, put coffee machine on, worked for me, good luck

You cannot delete them from icloud at all.
Most of your purchases are stored in icloud. That is what icloud does. It allows you to redownload most of your purchases.
