I can't delete an "event" in my photos on iphone

I have an album in my photos under "events" on my iphone. I'm not able to delete the album nor any of the photos in it. I don't know how to get rid of it. I thought connecting my iPhone to my iMac would help me but I was unable to find a way to delete these photos and this "event". Any clues?

If the event was created by syncing to your computer you can remove it from your phone by connecting it to your computer and using iTunes to sync again but this time choosing not to sync that event (or if you wish to remove all photos that originally came from your computer you can remove the check mark beside "Sync Photos from" and then sync. I want to delete an entire event from my library because everytime I select it imovie freezes and then close itself up. So I have to re-open imovie again. And when I want to select that particular event again the same problem occures. So I can not select that particular event. Therefore I can take NO action on this event.

All other events work fine. I believe The footage had a problem from capturing. but now it's in my computer and i can't open it.

One can delete it from one's computer. In the finder go to homeuser, movies, imovie events, delete the footage.
Then reopen iMovie and see if that helps.

I was just experiencing this problem on Mountain Lion. The calendar I wanted to delete was on iCloud. So, I logged into iCloud from a web browser, and selected Calendar. On the current incarnation of iCloud Calendar the calendars are listed on the left. I selected the "Edit" link at the top of that list and chose delete. It indicated that the items would be deleted, but there was nothing about notifications. Then, when I went back to iCal on my Mac, I selected the calendar to be deleted, right clicked, and slected refresh...
... gone.
It probably would have disappeared on it's own eventually. I'd be curious to see if theis works for others, so please confirm.

there is a way to do it. you didnt say if the two librarys were on two different computers i am supposing this is the case. In itunes on both computers go to itunes preferences there you will see where the music is stored not this location for the future.
Check is the copy files to itunes media folder is checked.
Go find that folder and see if all your music is in there if so then you can copy the folder or move it to an external hard drive.
Then go to he computer that you want all the music on and simply copy all the music files in there. Try one folder at a time so copy in say the Bob Dylan folder and see if it all works in itunes.
Obviously itunes needs to be closed when you are copying the folders over. If it doesnt immediately show up on the itunes simply choose file add to library and just go back to the folder and choose the one you want to add.
You may end up with a few duplicates if so choose show duplicates and choose which ones to delete. You may also get some files with the itunes numbering in the title you can right click and on a mac choose get info and change the name or rename in windows. I did this its a bit of stuffing around.
I would say in hindsight, one folder for all your music, let itunes copy it all over and keep adding to the original folder and back it up. If disaster ever strikes all you do is set up your new computer with fresh itunes and point itunes at your music folder and it will copy them all over again.

BUT, every time I try to delete it, an error message pops up "Only the calendar administrator and any delegates with permission can make changes to read-only calendars. To make changes to the calendar, contact the calendar administrator."
And I can't delete the event. Have not tried declining the event because I don't wanna offend the person who invited me.

No, you can't delete all your events. You could merge them all together so you'd have just one, but doing so would hardly save any space, just as putting all your documents in a single folder would hardly save any space. It's the documents and photos themselves, not the containers and subcontainers in which they are organized, that really take up space.
If you have additional iPhoto questions, I suggest posting them in the iPhoto forum where the real gurus hang out.

Can't delete some events

With iMovie 7.1.4 I can't delete some events : error -37
Some of those events have no movies
Some have movies but are not in use in projects
I tried to delete some files via Finder with result : iMovie quit soon after starting and I was obliged to rebuilt the folder.
Those unused events take 10 go of space. What can I do ?

You can delete the Event folders in the Finder.

I have just published and burnt my holiday movie through idvd and saved it to my external hard drive. Can I now go into Imovie and delete the events and projects that are in there as I wish to free up space?....
WIll the movie as a whole be saved on my external drive or does it still require the clips from imovie?... This is obviously presuming that I will no be making any further edits on this movie...

ah... My "DVD" is three seperate projects so I guess I can't save the "DVD" as a whole but can save the three projects as seperate quicktime movies which means I can then delete the events and projects from Imovie?...

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Login to iCloud.com, hit the "Reset Photo Stream" button. This will delete all photos stored in iCloud, but not any photos pushed to any devices. Then, on your phone, Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream>Off. This will delete all photos in your Photo Stream album, on your phone. This will leave them on your Mac as long as you don't turn Photo Stream off on your Mac. If you first import them to your iPhoto library, you can then turn Photo Stream off on your Mac & they will remain in your iPhoto library.

Startup Disk full. I have external backup drive. Can I delete folders in My Lightroom photos?

I am using Mac Intel OSX Lion. I received a screen message that stated my startup disk is full. I am positive this is due to my 10,000 or so photos (mostly RAW files) stored in My Lightroom photos folders. Since my photos are externally backed up can I delete those 9000-10,000 photos in various folders of My Lightroom? And by doing this do I free up disk space in my computer's hard drive?
I might also mention that photos created in LR5 are saved to folders in the Mac's Pictures area under "Favorites." So am I duplicating, i.e, doubling the file hogging capacity, because it is in Pictures and also in LR5. Any help is much appreciated.

See my posted title: I backed up all 9000+ photos in 3 external hard drives. Two are full but the third still has a lot of capacity. All photos are saved in lossless .dng file. I don't have a problem going back to those external drive files if I want to do more post processing with the photos. I fail to understand why my startup disk on the Mac is full as the great majority of file space taken up are from LR5 photos. I only have two or three Mac Applications: Swift Publisher and Quicken Essentials, both of which do not require huge hard disk space.
By the way, those 9000+ RAW files are also stored in Pictures in the Mac. 9000 files each about 20Mb I calculate to 180Gb. Am I right?

You'll have to deselect the photos in the photo pane in iTunes on your computer and then sync the phone again, this will delete photos that have not been taken with the phone but synced from the computer.
