I can't delete more than 150 to 200 emails at a time without the program freezing, how would I delete 38,000 without wiping out saved messages?

I'm on Win8/Win8.1. A laptop and a PC, and Thunderbird freezes on both if I try to delete a larger quantity of emails. I want to save some of the emails, and delete the rest. About 38,000 as I have kept putting this off. Is there another way to do this, or any third party software that would work?

    I have been trying to open multiple files from the bridge into the raw program for cs3...but if I try for more than 150 or so at once, it tells me the request can not be completed because too many files were selected for opening? I was able to open hundreds at a time with cs2's version of raw and bridge, so why can't I do this now? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Open Bridge CS3, select an image (or group of images), right-click (or control-click) and select "Open in Camera Raw..." from the popup menu.

    I would set up a new email for him.  That will give you a new icloud account.  Also any apps that he downloaded with your ID will forever be linked to that ID and can only be updated with that ID.  If that is a problem then you might delete those apps and download them again with the new ID ( and if they were paid apps you need to pay again)

    Yes, if you have the Mountain Lion operating system installed on the Macs that you want to back up.
    I don't know what the maximum number of hard drives might be, but I have tested with 4 and it works fine. Time Machine automatically rotates the backups when you do this, so drive #1 will be backed up first, then #2, #3, etc. and then back to #1, etc.

  • I lost my @ internet browser icon and can not find it. I have looked everywhere.  I even uninstalled/reinstalled my os and i still can not find it. Now I can not open more than one session unless i click a link in the existing session.

    I have looked everywhere for this icon.  I was looking at a video and all of a sudden my screen changed and I had a pop up asking me to hide.  I thought I was hiding the strange pop but my @ icon disappeared instead.  I looked in applications and do not see it anywhere. 

    If you mean the address field in Safari, choose Show Toolbar or Customize Toolbar from the View menu.
    If you mean the spring icon in the Dock, that's not an application. Open any site in Safari and drag the little icon of it to the Dock; the preset icon points to http://www.apple.com/macosx/
    rkaufmann87: The Safari Dock icon doesn't contain an @, and no other Mac web browser icon I've seen does.

    I have an ITunes account and been downloading Canadian magazines.  All of a sudden, they tell me I am in a US account and have to switch to Canadian account, how do I do that ?   I always thought I had a Canadian account and not US.   Cannot download anything at present.

  • How can I scan more than one photo at a time on my 8610

    The previous HP Scanner we had (8500) would allow you to add scan windows to the scan preview so that you could scan more than one photo or image at a time from the glass.  This allowed me to scan physical photos in several at a time rather than having to load one at a time.  Is there a way to do this in this newer 8610 software?  

    Thanks!  That did work, sort of.   At 600 dpi, If I put 5 photos on the scanner bed, it sometimes senses 3 correctly and senses 2 as one photo.  Sometimes the other way around, it gets 2 right and senses 3 togehter.  I can then change the scanning area to just have one of those photos, but then I have to rescan the one(s) that are/were left out. 
    So the first problem with this solution is, to use it I'm stuck at 300 dpi resolution  or less which isn't great for my situation.  I want to be able to enlarge some of these images up for printing.
    Also, When I click on the + sign it scans the same photos again and I can then crop the ones that it continually senses as 1 photo (even when they are spread apart, but it scans all the others again to, so if it senses three photos together that shouldn't be, I have to add 2 extra pages, crop them appropriately and the delete the extra 4 scans of the photos it got right the first time.  
    VERY CUMBERSOME.  The previous program for the 8500 let you just add a scan area window so that you could scan the bits out you wanted.  Much better.   Why do they mess with what works?   Bummer.

  • Movie Rentals, Are there More than 150?

    Would really like to buy an AppleTV, but where are the movies?
    Did a Power Search for All Possible Movie Rentals. Could only see 150 on the list.
    Are there more than 150?
    Is it me or is this the entire list of movies available to rent?

    It is confusing...as far as I understand there are movies that are available on your ATV (both SD and HD) and there are movies that are available on iTunes. Of course the 2 lists overlap to a great extent but I believe that there are some movies available on iTunes that are not available on ATV (conversely I think that all of the SD movies available on ATV ARE/ARE available on iTunes). To confuse things more you can only rent HD movies from the ATV not on iTunes.
    Hope I haven't made things more confusing.
    Bottom line though- if you like to rent movies ATV is great- I love it.

    You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
    You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

    The main issue is that mail to the alias turns up in the same inbbox as that to the primary address. Though you could instead create a new iCloud account and sign into it in System Preferences (or Settings)>Mail, Contacts and Calendars, probably the easiest way to deal with this is to set up a Rule to move all messages to the alias to a new folder which you would create. (You do this on the iCloud website; click the cogwheel icon at top right and choose 'Rules'.)

    To select multiple clips, hold down the command key as you click multiple clips. Then you can drag them all at once.
    To drag all clips at once, select one, then Edit/Select All. Then drag them all.

    Can I update more than one iPad and iPhone to ios 5 from the same MacBook pro? Our family has one MacBook pro and several iphones and ipads.  No one wants to lose their iTunes music or contact list or calendars.

    Yes, but you will want to think it through before you do it.
    The computer will become the "master" device, holding the definitive collection of music, photos, contacts, etc., and each iPad or iPhone will get a copy of what's on the computer. So if  everyone has different collections of music or photos that you all want to keep separate from each other, you'll want to set up different accounts on the MacBook Pro. To do that, go into "System Preferences" and click "Users", then click the "+" to create a new account for each person who needs their own set of files.
    That way you can each log in to your own MacBook account before you sync your iPhone or iPad, and everyone has their own copy of iTunes and their own iPhoto. If you happen to plug in an iPhone while logged into someone else's account, you just click "don't sync" (the 1st time only, it will remember after that). Sharing the same files becomes tricky, so this is only the best method if you want to keep things 100% separate.
    On the other hand, if you all have your music and photos mishmashed together on the MacBook anyway or just don't care about keeping things separate, just go ahead and sync your iPhones and iPads without setting up new accounts. But in this case, you should create playlists and photo albums in iTunes and iPhoto. Then plug in an iPhone, click on it's icon in iTunes, and change the settings for Music, Photos, etc to only sync the playlists that you want on that device. Repeat for each one. They'll all remember their own settings, and continue to sync with their designated playlists or albums.
    What you cannot do is use more than one computer with a single iPhone. That will wipe out the music and photos that were on it already, replacing them with the ones on the second computer.

    If you synced your iPhone with the same iTunes library on the same computer you have been syncing your iPhone with, not sure how some of the music was lost. If you tried to sync your iPhone with a different iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content on your iPhone would have been erased first, not just some.
    All iTunes content on your iPhone including all music should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
