with 10.6. what's the problem? I created an account only to use for "all" and typed a date which is not to delete in advance. On 10.4.11 theres never a problem with iCal.

If you are In the "Day"view in the calendar app, tap on the event and a window opens up with a red "Delete Event" button at the bottom of the window. Tap that button and then another "Delete Event" button pops up. Tap that to delete.
In the week view, tap the event and then a window pops up with "Edit" in it - it is in the upper right corner of that window - tap edit, and then repeat the process described above.
I do not use the Google calendar and maybe the way you have that set up will not allow you to do this directly on the Calendar app on the iPad.

I was just experiencing this problem on Mountain Lion. The calendar I wanted to delete was on iCloud. So, I logged into iCloud from a web browser, and selected Calendar. On the current incarnation of iCloud Calendar the calendars are listed on the left. I selected the "Edit" link at the top of that list and chose delete. It indicated that the items would be deleted, but there was nothing about notifications. Then, when I went back to iCal on my Mac, I selected the calendar to be deleted, right clicked, and slected refresh...
... gone.
It probably would have disappeared on it's own eventually. I'd be curious to see if theis works for others, so please confirm.

If you have iTunes Match enabled under iOS 6, you cannot delete albums are songs off the device one at a time. Apple changed the whole way iTunes Match functioned from iOS 5.
As I stated earlier:
1) Disable iTunes Match and turn it back on to delete everything.
2) Leave iTunes Match on but go into settings, usage, and then delete all the music that way.
3) Turn iTunes Match off and then you can delete songs or albums one at a time; however, once you turn it back on it deletes everything anyway.

Tap on the icon at the bottom right of the main screen in the Weather app (looks like three horizontal lines). Swipe from right to left over the name of the city you want to delete. Tap the red delete button. Note: you can't delete the "Current location", only cities you've added.

Ical Help needed- can not delete a four year ical event

I accidentally sent an ical event that lasts for four years and now I he cant delete it and it is taking up more and more memory on his phone as it is repeating infinitly every day?? Have tried restore but it still syncs with icloud. is there an easy solution?

First you have to know which calendar your client saved the event to. Usually by default it saves to the native Calendar app. If that is the case, he should be able to log into iCloud and delete the event (decline the invitation) from there. If your client saved the event to an external calendar that he has synched to his iPhone (Yahoo, Google, etc.) he may be able to delete it or decline it from there, which should in turn remove it from the device.
The logic here is that only the creator of the event invitation can edit the event details, so that if they do that, all of the recipients of the invitation will get the updated information automatically. I agree it leaves a lot to be desired to stick things on people's calendars that they can't at the very least just simply delete if not edit. I will no longer accept invitations directly on my device in order to avoid this. I will add the event to my calendar manually from now on.

I'm trying to delete an event from my iCal & a message pops up saying that only the calendar admin can make changes in the "Contacts birthdays & events".
Since it's my calendar, aren't I the admin? This contact is no longer in my contacts book. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Can someone advice me how can I delete single entry (call or sms) in log? I have Nokia E 51 and E 66 and it can be done, deleinge but all comunications. single entries cant be deleted they can from your initial call history but not from the log they can only be cleared all in one go

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

The first part of your answer worked great, thanks for that! However, since doing that, there are still songs on the iPad that I want to delete. I place my finger on the song, swipe to the left....and nothing. No red "delete" appears at the right. That used to work on my full size iPad, but not on this mini. I just purchased it last Friday...maybe it's defective?

I can't delete an ical calender

I have an Ical calander that seems to pop up everytime in the appointmens sections. In the Ical calenders it doesn;t show this particular calender. I'm not syncing to an external server. Cause I don't see the calender I can't delete the calender. I have deleted the content of the library/calander section and the associated plist files. But still the appointenments to this calander do show up.
Tips to solve this problem or how really delete this "not present" calander would be appreciated.

I added a large note and now ical won't let me close it or quit ical. I read about an Ical Cleaner... but where do i get it?

If you are using an IMAP account, you can mass delete from your computer.
If you are using a POP account, you will need to delete one by one.

Can't delete iCal Preferences

I have the strangest thing happening. I'm trying to delete all of iCal preferences for iCal. Which I thought I did however when I relaunch iCal all the information returns. Am I missing something?

2. Deleted:

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal/
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist

Just 'cos you're not using it doesn't mean that it isn't there.

Sync services maintains data on several applications in folders in ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/Local/clientdata. You can see which by opening the clientname.txt file in the various folders. There is also information stored in ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/Local/data.syncdb. Deleting this file, the folder for iCal in clientdata, the calendar files in ~/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources and the several iCal plist files in ~/Library/Preferences should get rid of all calendar information.

HT1492 Start-up disk is full and can't go past the blue screen; can't delete read-only files on single-user mode. Please help.

I have had my Mac mini for about 6 years and I guess it had enough of me (haha), so the start-up disk got full and it shut down before I could empty files on my drive. Unfortunately, all these years I hadn't backed up anything and now I can't access anything since it won't boot past the apple logo (and the blue screen for that matter). I have tried rebooting (holding shift as the mac mini loads), but that didn't help since the start-up disk will still be full and stuck on the blue screen. I am now trying the single-user mode (holding command key+s), and I tried to delete files in the trash bin but all of the files are read-only and access is denied! so I basically can't delete anything on the mac mini (it says "Root device is mounted read-only"). So the key here is to change the permissions but I don't know how to exactly do that. Can someone help me figure this out? (and type the command in the unix language please!!) [ Note: We have two users on this mac mini if that helps.]
