I can't deletting files in the iPod 7G, how formating?

I'm tired of this crap, I try to delete and instead what I do is worsen the situation, please tell me or send me a video of how to format my iPod 7G

After completing the Restore, the best way to load content on the iPod is through automatic syncing.
Connect the iPod and select it in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, there is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.  This is the Music tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod with songs.
Check the box for Sync Music.  If your entire iTunes music library can fit on your iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Then, everything in your iTunes music library, including playlists, syncs to your iPod.  Click Apply and you can skip the next three paragraphs.
Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  One way to set this up, if you want to keep it simple, is to create a new regular playlist in iTunes.  From your iTunes music library, put ALL songs you want on the iPod on that playlist.  Back on the Music tab, find and checkmark that one playlist under Playlists.
When you click Apply, iTunes loads the iPod with your selection on the Music tab, which in this case are the songs on that playlist.  Going forward, when you want to change the songs on the iPod, just update that "iPod songs" playlist (add and remove songs).  The next time you connect the iPod, or click the Sync button, your changes automatically sync to the iPod.
You can add more playlists to your selection on the Music tab, and also select specific artists, albums, and/or genres. The concept here is NOT to manage the iPod directly and manually.  Instead, you manage your iTunes library and settings on the Music tab, and let iTunes handle the iPod.
NOTE:  There are other "tabs" next to the Summary and Music tabs.  Those tabs are for setting up other types of iTunes content for automatic syncing to the iPod.

why mac always delete files on the ipod? and the third this!

It's not Mac, it is iTunes, especially the recent version.
Every week you can see about 10 posts on iPod missing songs after ejecting from iTunes.
Well maybe Apple is telling iPod users, to buy their latest innovation like iPad 2.

  • How can you delete songs off the ipod without deleting songs off your itunes library?

How can you delete songs off the ipod without deleting songs off your itunes library?  My son's ipod automatically synced all the songs in my library to his ipod which he now wants to get rid of.  Is there a way to delete them all without me having to erase my library?

Do not select the songs to sync, then sync.

  • How do you delete files from the iPod?

i have a 30GB iPod, but i was wondering how you delete music from the iPod? and also is it possible to play the music from the iPod?
30GB iPod.   Windows XP   30GB iPod.

There are several methods of deleting songs from the iPod and/or iTunes, and the method you choose depends on the settings you have selected for your iPod.
If you have the iPod set to automatically transfer songs, and you no longer want a copy of those songs on either the iPod or in iTunes, simply delete the songs in iTunes. Highlight the songs you no longer want then right click and select "clear", or from the edit menu select "clear". Next time you connect the iPod, the songs will be deleted from there also.
Only do this if you no longer want the songs on both the iPod and your computer.
You can also use the "only update checked songs" method in the iPod options (right click on the iPod in the source list in iTunes and select options, then select "only update checked songs"). With this preference checked, you can remove the check mark from the songs in iTunes that you no longer want on the iPod. The next time you connect the iPod, those unchecked songs will be removed from the iPod whilst still being retained in iTunes. You can check and uncheck songs as you change your mind about what songs you want to put on the iPod. Songs that have no check mark against them will be skipped over when played back in iTunes.
If you have the iPod set to manually manage your songs, and you want to delete the song from the iPod only, then select the iPod in the source list of iTunes, or click on the "music" option underneath it to show all your songs. Highlight the song(s) you no longer want on the iPod, right click and select "clear", or use the edit menu as previously mentioned.
This method only deletes the songs from the iPod, so if you no longer want the song in iTunes also, you'll need to delete it from there separately using the method above.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, all these settings can be found in the summary screen.
If you want to delete everything from the iPod and completely erase the hard drive and start from scratch, then you can restore the iPod to factory settings.
Only do this if you have the songs in your iTunes library, or a back up somewhere other than the iPod itself.
To play music from an iPod through iTunes, you need to set your iPod to manage the iPod content manually.
This will make the songs on the iPod accessible and playable.

  • If I'm downloading songs from iTunes with my iPhone, than I can't delete them on the iPhone. How can I get rid of them on the iPhone after I synchronised them with my library?

Since I have the iPhone4S I can't delete songs from the iPhone anymore, which I downloaded with the iPhone. I sync the iPhone with my library. That works perfect. But than I want to delete the songs on the phone. That doesn't work. Can somebody tell me how I can delete those songs?

You have to uncheck what songs you don't want in iTunes.  I don't think you could delete songs off the phone direct, unless you had I tunes match.

  • Can't delete files from the device downloads folder

I played around with my wonderfull passport and tried to install the app "1MobileMarket". Unfortunately the download of "1MobildeMarket_600.apk" stoped and now there is a file called "1MobileMarket_600.apk.temp" in the downloads folder which I can not delete :-/ Does anyone know what to do? I'm really grateful for any suggestions.

    Try rebooting then delete.
On your BlackBerry10 device with a non-removable battery:
Restart: Press and hold the upper edge power button a couple seconds and the tap the lower right RESTART.
    or,
Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.

  • Is a copy of .xml file on the iPod too? If so, how can I copy ONLY the .xml file to my computer and NOT have to copy all my music files too?

I had to re-load my OS (Windows XP Pro) from a HD snapshot via Acronis True Image Server. I save my OS on my C: drive and all my data files on my D: drive.  So when I re-loaded my OS, I still have all of my music files intact.
I have re-loaded the OS before and had to re-create iTunes library which I did by doing the follwing:
    1. cut & paste .xml file in iTunes folder to desktop
    2. delete .itl file in iTunes folder
    3. import .xml file through iTunes  file>library>iport playlist
    4. navigate to .xml file on desktop and import
This worked last time I re-loaded my OS but not this time for some reason.
So I'm wondering if there is a copy of the .xml file on the iPod itself in the iPod_Control folder that I can copy and paste to my comuter desktop and import via the above steps?
I have seen all kinds of solutions on the web that include copying the music files from the iPod to the computer.  I don't need to do that.  I have the music files.  I just need the .xml file so iTunes can talk to my iPod (5th Generation - 30G).

Backup your music library, that is the only way to ensure it does not go missing through theft, damage, operator error, machine breaks, upgrades go wrong, operator goes wrong .........

  • How can i copy files from my ipod to the i tunes?

i just reformatted my laptop, then i installed a new itune. my problem is how can i copy all my files from ipod to the new itune. I cant sync it with the new itune or else it will be erase all my files in the ipod..what can i do ? can you pls. help me.....

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation, also it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    iGadget Windows Only
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    TuneJack Windows Only
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. Relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

I have a new computer with windows 8.1.  I want to add the 52 Gb of music now on my old ipod to itunes on the computer.  I don't want to wipe out the files on the ipod by syncing to the new computer which has no music files on it yet!  How can I do this?

Apparently I wasn't clear.  The music on my ipod is but a subset of all the music on my external hard drives.  I want to import only the songs and playlists from my existing ipod into the itunes library on my new computer, which currently has no music or playlists.  How can I do this?

  • Can't delete files in iTunes 10.4 (80) OS 10.7 Delete in the edit menu is not hi-lighted?

Can't delete files in iTunes 10.4 (80) OS 10.7 Delete in the edit menu is not hi-lighted. Any sugestions? I have three Mac's and they all have the same problem.

Gmatos, when I high-light and drag file from iTunes to my trash the usual promt of "do I want to remove it" followed by by the uual "do I want to keep the file or remove that from my library" comes up too. I click "dont keep file" and it is gone from my itunes and my library an my HD. It's exactly the same as it's always been except annoyingly this is the only way I can do it as the delete button just doesn't work in this latest version.
Hope this is clearer for you.

  • How do I delete files on my iPod second gen?  This is a NEW problem I have only had with the latest version of iTunes.  I have not changed libraries.

How do I delete files on my iPod second gen?  This is a NEW problem I have only had with the latest version of iTunes.  I have not changed libraries.  All files are grayed out.  I have already read related posts in the iTunes community.

Thanks but I had already read this, and it was no help at all.  Under the Summary tab, "Options", there is no check-box to manually manage my stuff.  I suspect this is because it is a 2nd gen iPod, with ONLY manual management.  The only way to delete my stuff seems to be to reset the entire device.
I like to listen to podcasts.  What is particularly frustrating is that the 4th gen shuffle CANNOT play podcasts, but ONLY music, which I discovered after a lot of research and multiple visits to an Apple store.  So I have to resort to an older version of the shuffle to play podcasts  And now with the latest version of iTunes there seems to be no way to delete any podcasts on the older version.  Apple just makes it harder and harder for us podcast-lovers, driving us away from Apple -- driving me away from the entire brand and from ALL Apple devices, not just iPod.
