What type of item is it ? What you can re-download will show under the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. As long as they are still in the store then your apps and ibooks should appear there, and potentially music, films and tv shows (media can't be re-downloaded in all countries) - audiobooks and ringtones are currently one-time only downloads, so they won't appear.
If they don't show then have you still got copies of the items somewhere e.g. on your old computer (copying between computers) or on a backup of your downloads ?

Are you expecting to see the apps that you can see on the iPad, on the Mac?
iOS apps which run on your iPad and use the iOS operating system, won't run on your Mac, which usues a different operating system, OS X.

  • Downloaded ios8 to iPad air. Now I can't download new or purchased apps. It seems to hang up each time and goes into waiting mode.

NEw iPad air won't download apps after installing ios8. Hangs up in waiting mode

This is still happening after a week. Kind of annoying to only be able to get updates through my PC.
Here is the message I get on my iPad2:
Sign in to the iTunes Store
If you have an Apple ID, sign in with it here. AOL members can sign in using their AOL username and password.
    Cancel/Buy
The Cancel/Buy are the two button choices. If I click cancel it cancels. If I click buy it shows the same message.
Again, I'm already signed in, can buy and download new apps, but cannot download updates or previously purchased apps. Yes, I can download those two things through my PC, but would like a solution to this regardless.
    I've tried:
    -signing out and signing in
-same thing, but powering down my ipad in between
-same thing but also setting the date forward in between (heard this works for some people)
I'm still thinking it will "fix itself" at some point, but who knows.

  • How can I see the previously purchased Apps after changing region?

I recently changed the the region of my Apple ID and now none of the previously purchased apps are showing up in Purchased info even if I delete and download them again. Before I changed the region I downloaded the free app called Constellation on my iPad, but upgraded it to Pro after changing region. Now when I installed it to my iPhone, it doesn't have the Pro license and asks me to buy it again.

once you connect the new iPhone, iTunes should ask you if you want to restore the backup of your old one. you can also redownload your purchased app over and over free of charge: How to redownload purchased apps from the App Store

  • Can't Download "Some" Previously Purchased Music

When I go to the quick link on the ITunes store page and begin downloading my previous purchases it locks up on some of the albums/songs listed. Others download very quickly and easily. Why would this be? I know there's a limit to the number of times it can be downloaded but I don't think I've hit it, or is there another way to know?

There isn't a limit to how many times an item can be redownloaded, the only limit is how long the item remains in the store (rights-holders occasionally remove their items) - and some items (audiobooks and ringtones) are one-time only downloads. I had a problem downloading updates to some apps earlier today (my computer's iTunes kept getting stuck on 'processing' some of them so I had to close/re-open iTunes a number of time), so it might be a server issue.

  • HT201272 How can I download ringtones previously purchased?

I purchased various ringtones from the iTunes store now I'm trying to download to my new iPhone and I can't find them. How can I download ringtones previosly purchased in the iTunes store? Thanks

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store. Do you have copies of them in the Tones section of your computer's iTunes library or on your backup of your downloads ? If not, and if they are still in the store, then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • My husband's computer crashed and he hadn't backed up his ITunes library. How can we download all previously purchased music?

My husbands computer crashed and we don't have a backup of our ITunes. How can we access and download all previous ITunes purchases?

Depending upon which store you use you may be able to recover some of your past purchases. See HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.
Go the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. (This should reduce the risk of corrupt downloads.)
For the future backup your library regularly with this User Tip.
If you have an Apple device see: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • HT201272 I downloaded a previously purchased app.  I have the receipt for the in app purchase, yet the game wants to charge me again to unlock.  What do I do?

I have downloaded a past purchase from the app store through iTunes.  It was a trial game that you unlock with an in app purchase.  I paid the price and unlocked it months ago and still have the receipt.
When I try to restore the purchase, the in-app unlock is no longer working and the App Store wants to charge me another $4.99.
    What do I do?

    You CANNOT download music again.
You buy one and only one download.  It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Use your backup copy to put the music back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup (not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod.  File>Transfer Purchases

  • Can't download my previously purchased Pages 2011

I have a 2006 MacBook that will only allow installation of OS X Lion and I decided to reinstall and "simplify" my application selection.  I went to reinstall my previously purchased Pages 2011 (and iPhoto 2011) but am told that I can't since: "We could not complete your purchase. Pages can’t be installed on “Davids_MacBook” because Mac OS X version 10.9 or later is required."
So do I no longer have access to my purchased software?

Since this is an international user-to-user community support forum, it might be better if you engaged Apple directly on this issue. Although Apple no longer sells, or offers iWork '09 products via the OS X App Store, there may be alternatives.
Retrieve Pages ’09 from a Time Machine (or other backup). Not certain if iPhoto is a similar granular (/Applications) installation or not.
Perhaps Apple will send you an iWork '09 DVD (which you will need to update from here to latest versions)
I had Pages ’09 v4.2 on my Mountain Lion system. I wanted it updated to v4.3 via the App Store. But as you already noticed, the App Store gave the discouraging message about Mavericks to get the latest version of Pages. I acknowledged, and then the App Store indicated it would then update the current installation to Pages v4.3. This was months ago, and unfortunately, I don't recall the *exact* interaction to make this work.
Use this App Store link to directly communicate with Apple for more resolution on your needs. I have used it before and it works.

  • HT201272 if you are downloading a previously purchased app, will you download the version you purchased or the most recent version?

Is there any legitimate way to download a previous version of an app (if you already purchased it)? Or is any download of an app on iTunes always going to be the most recent version?

So if it is an app no longer available in the app store, and you download it (since you already purchased it), the version you download will be the most recent version before it was removed and not the version you downloaded right?

  • Cannot download a previously purchased app after switching computers

I switched from a Macbook Pro to an iMac.  Afterwards, I was unable to open a particular app. iTunes App Store does not give me a download icon for this app when I click the Purchased link and search for the app.
When I search for my computer, the .ipa file cannot be found.

If you have the app listed (even though you might not have the actual .ipa file on that computer) in the Apps part of our Mac's iTunes library then it won't show in the Purchased link for redownloading. Try deleting it from your library and then see if it shows as being redownloadable via the Purchased link under Quick Links.

  • How can I download & reinstall previously purchased software?

I purchased Pagemaker 5 many years ago and updated to PM 7 since then. I have a receipt & serial # for the upgrade but no longer have the receipt or the original box with the serial # for PM5. Computer was hit by lightening and had to install all new programs. How can I download and reinstall PM5 (or PM7) from Adobe?

you can download a pagemaker 7 trial here, http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?loc=en&product=pagemaker
but, you'll need the serial number for pm5.  check your adobe.com account to see if your software is listed along with your serial number.
and, this may help you find your serial, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html or, it may not.
if you cannot retrieve your pm5 serial, contact adobe support:  http://www.adobe.com/support/download-install/supportinfo/
