I can't download an app I have paid for, please help!

Hey everyone, this morning I purchased Empire: Total War Gold Edition (13.1GB) for my macbook (late 2011). However, when I try to download the game, it says 'an error has occured' in red writing beside the install button. When I press the install button again, it downloads to around 30-40mb and then a message appears saying 'Failed to download'. This just keeps happening in a repetitive cycle over and over haha.
I've tried shutting down, restarting, checking for unfinished and hidden downloads and I have cleared the app store cache.
I installed mountain lion yesterday and this is the first thing I have tried to download from the app store. I was wondering if mountain lion could be the problem?
Any help would be much appreciated !

Just tried using my phone as a personal hotspot instead of wifi, seems to work now!
Must have been a problem with the isp, although download allowance is definitely unlimited.

My laptop is now dead so I can't sync my iPad or even my iPhone
I've bought a app ( garage sale HD ) on my iPad ... Half downloads then says. This app will be available to download when you log into your iTunes account on your computer. ???
Any advice will be grateful as iTunes have already charged £2.99 to me and I can't even download or use the app .

I've heard of this happening with large downloads, but not with something as small as the Garage Sale app. Presuming that a restart of the iPad doesn't fix the problem (a true restart, not just putting it to sleep), contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) and explain your situation to them. Perhaps they can help or at least explain.
You're going to want to get a computer up and running eventually, though. You can't back up your iPad (and unlike for apps and iBooks, you get only one download per purchase for music, videos and movies, so those need to be backed up) nor update the OS on the iPad without a computer.

One thing you may notice when you do install them on the iPad, is they are not optimized for the higher resolution screen on the iPad versus the iPhone. You can still use them, but you may want to search the app store and see if there is a HD or iPad optimized version (although you may have to buy that as most such apps are not free upgrades, but separate purchases).

I've got it working on mine by downloading the old facebook app version 4.0.1 from the following link. In iTunes, go to file menu, select add file to library and add the downloaded ipa file and facebook will appear in the apps screen. next sync will then put facebook on your iphone 3G.

The iPad does not use Flash so you will have to search for a TV app or an app that will stream the content that you want to watch. I have apps stream live content. WatchESPN and CNN are two apps that stream live content. You just have to start searching. Use a Google search for starters.

Won't open an app becuase it is from an unidentified developer. It's not Java - so how can I open an app I've paid for: it's my choice.

If you are getting an 'invalid security code' message then is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :

Old adobe ID needed to authorise this computer so I can read all my books I have paid for

I need to recover my old adobe id in order to authorise this computer so I can open the books I have paid for. When I installed sony reader to this (my new) computer it wouldn't allow me to open any books I have paid for. Sony says this is to do with my adobe id so I tried a few weeks ago to sign in using my adobe id (1st time in 3 years). Now I couldn't remember my username but it said it was probably my email address but then it told me you didn't recognise my email address. I have not changed my email address in the past 6 years at all but I could have entered it as [email protected] or co.uk or I could have put in googlemail instead of gmail. I always enter it as [email protected] now. I signed up again but that doesn't help me with my books I have bought so I need you to help me find my old adobe id.

Do you have your old computer still. If so, go to digital editions on it, and in the Library view do menu/Library/Authroize Computer.
That will tell you the email it was registered with.
There is a long-winded way (below) to find the internal AdobeID a book belongs to,
I don't know if having got that internal ID whether Adobe service are able to tell you what the external ID (email) assocated with the internal ID is.

OK. To find the internal AdobeID.
open a sample DRM .epub file as a .zip file.
With some zip programs, you can just open the .epub as an archive (ev, with 7zip),
with others you will have to rename the .epub file to a .zip file first, then open it.
find the file 'rights.xml' within the zip. Probably 'META-INF\rights.xml'
open the rights.xml file
inside you will find a section '<user>' that looks something like
<user>urn:uuid:ff2ddc22-eca0-46c6-a84d-xxxxxxxxxxxx</user>
That string is the internal version for your AdobeID.
That stays fixed for the AdobeID, even if you change the associated email (or password),
that internal ID is what is really associated with the book.
(n.b. there is no point in trying to change the urn to a current one you might find and recreating the .epub file; the DRM is cleverer than that).

It may be that if you can give them that internal ID they will be able to get you access to your account again.
If they say they can't, it might be worth trying two or three times at intervals;
it seems from what others have said that some of the representatives are very clued up, but others are not.

I have updated my email address.
The system does not link my previous account (previous email) to my edited email. Therefore I am not able to update apps and have no acces to the apps I have bought in the past.
Can someone please explain how do I access the apps I have already bought?

I started the process in iTunes.
Apple give us the option to edit our email.
As I am no longer using "old email" I have decided to edit and update my information with "new email" (APPLE ID > Edit).
Affter I did it the system simply does not recognize all purchases I have made with "old email".
Apple response:
Luiz I noticed that your account "new email" was formerly named "old email".
If your computer is not currently authorized to play this account's purchases, when you double-click an item you purchased before you renamed the account, the authorization dialog may show the old account name. If this happens, you will need to remove the old account name "old email" from the account name field, type the new account name "new email", and click Authorize. This authorizes your computer to play the account's purchases.
Luiz: "I just cannot see any of the old purchased items". My computer is authorized.
