I can't download apps with ios 6

i have downloaded iOS 6 and now I can't download apps, books or anyhting for that matter. What can I do to resolved this???

Isabel I have the same problem, all the apps I tried to newly download and update are just stuck with a scroll bar underneath and 'waiting' for 2 days now. My battery is also now terrible, my new maps thinks buildings are interfering when there isn't any, you tube is gone and generally my iPhone 4 is much slower. Really regret updating - no way of going back now :(

I have an Ipod touch 8gb which I purchased in early 2010. The software won't update past ios 4.2.1 which I understand is the newest software I can get on this Ipod. My question is are there any apps that are "kid friendly" which will run using this version of software? Every app I've tried to download won't because the software version isn't high enough. You might try just waiting. There are millions of people activating their iPhones today and people still trying to get iOS8, so the servers are swamped. I'd give it a couple of days and if it still doesn't work then try some troubleshooting.

Can't download apps after iOS 8

Not sure what the issue is.
After updating, I dowloaded a few keyboards (maybe a hour after the update being released), and everything seemed good.
Now, it doesn't download anything. The blue circle just loads and no app appears on my home screen.
I reset my phone multiple times, did a network reset, closed out of the app store and reopened, and also signed in and out of my Apple ID in the settings app.
What should I do? I really would not like to reset my whole phone all over again and restore, that takes a lot of time for such a minor thing.
The only way I can get apps on my phone is through iTunes, other than that, nothing.

If you restored your iPad as new, and it still didn't help, I don't know if anything in here will help. in any event, I have posted this boilerplate of suggestions many times in the past and the suggestions in here have worked for others at one time or another. Feel free to give them a try.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. If you see a downloads tab in the lower right corner, then there is a download in iTunes.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
7. Reset your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again.

The iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality.

It sounds like you are trying to download and install apps that require a later version of iOS than what can be and is probably installed on your iPod Touch. Your 1G iPod Touch can only be updated to IOS 3.1.3 and no higher. You can check the current version by heading to Setttings -> General -> About.
If the app requires a later version that iOS 3.1.3, then you will not be able to install or use that app unless you purchase a new iOS device.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
