I can't download Canon 5D Mark III RAW files with Bridge CS6

I also tried to install the release version of the latest Camera Raw update (7.1), it fails with error message in the log:
Photoshop Camera Raw 7.1
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7

Please try to update all other applications from Adobe Application Manager(AAM). if after updating all other application you still get the update error for Camera raw then please remove Adobe extension manager and install it again.

Camera Raw 7 does not recognize Canon 5D Mark III RAW files

Hello,
I have Adobe Creative Cloud installed and I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 with Camera Raw 7. Photoshop nur Bridge CS6 do not recognize the RAW files from the Canon 5D Mark III, though it says on the Adobe support site that the camera is supported since Camera Raw 6.7
When I try to open the .cr2-File I get the message "Photoshop cannot open the file".
I use Win7 (64 Bit).
Any help?

Hi Robert,
Its a known issue as the PS CS 6 was launched with ACR 7 however the support in Photoshop CS 6 would come with ACR 7.1 update which will be live soon.
You are completely right in saying that Canon 5D Mark III was supported in ACR 6.7 but it was only intended for >PS CS 5 & 5.1.
In the meanwhile if you want you can download the RC version of ACR 7.1 from labs.adobe.com.

Canon 5D Mark III Raw Files Not Viewable in Finder for Snow Leopard 10.6.8

System specs:
Computer: Mid 2008 Mac Pro - Dual Quad Core
OS: OS X 10.6.8 (includes the most recent Digital Camera Raw Updates)
Camera: Canon 5D Mark III
Problem:
Finder can not preview the thumbnails from this camera. While not that big of a deal (I can use Lightroom, Bridge, etc to view these) it is a bit of an annoyance when transfering files around from one volume to another.
According to this Apple support page - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US - I may need to update iPhoto, in order for the Digital Camera Raw Updates to work (specifically 3.12 from last year that addressd the 5D3's raw files).
As a pro photographer, I have ZERO use for iPhoto. But, I would be willing to spend the $15 for the newest version of iPhoto, if I knew that would solve the Finder thumbnail problem.
I would love a definitive answer, without having to call Apple and paying the "per-incident support fee."

I manually installed the latest RAW update (3.13 I think - for 10.6.8) .... worked for me.
(auto-update didn't do **** about raw update)
now aperture and os-x (10.6.8) show the 5dmk3 raw's.

Will Canon 5d Mark III Raw files work with Lightroom 3

I have just tried to upload Raw files from a Canon 5d Mark III to Lightroom 3. The file were not recognised. I believe there were some update issues but my Lightroom 3 is updated. Do I need to get Lightroom 4? I need to know urgently as I have a shoot tomorrow and will go back to my Mrk II if I can't get an update for Lightroom 3.

LR3 DOES NOT support Canon 5D3, 1Dx, Nikon D800 or Nikon D4.
Newer cameras wont work in it, and require LR4 for RAW processing (Tethering in LR4 STILL is not supported)
However,
LR4 is massively buggy, and slow to a point where it is practically unuseable for anything other than a handful of images to edit.
Also, LR4 will not tether to the new cameras (for that, try ANY of the competing professional software, Aperture, Capture One - They work just fine)
You can, convert your 5D3 files to DMG, and then open them in LR3 that way, or you can get LR4 and deal with it's massively awful slow issues that Adobe has still not resolved 5.5 months after launch, or you can use other software.
Those are your options.

The 5D Mark III was also supported in Camera Raw 6.7

Element 10 and Canon 5D Mark III RAW file

My Element 10 can read my Canon 40D RAW files but not the 5D Mark III ones. I downloaded Element Camera RAW update 6.7 and updated Adobe App Manager but could not install the former. An error message indicates that this extension does not apply. Any idea how to address this issue? Thanks.

Indeed, according to Adobe download assistant, Element 10 with Camera RAW 6.7 update should work.
The error message is "Echec de la mise à jour" (in French) which means Update Failure. Reason given is "this update does not apply to your case".

Your CR2 files are not supported in PSE2. You can download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

5D Mark III RAW Files with LR 4.1RC - Cross Pattern Noise

While processing a images from this past weekend taken with the 5D Mark III... Images taken at high ISO (6400 and 12,800) with no noise reduction show a very clear criss-cross pattern across the image faintly. Once you apply about 20 on the NR slider, it will go away. I do not see this with the in-camera JPEG's or with Canon's DPP software with no NR applied to the RAW files. Is this a known issue that will be corrected for the final release of 4.1?
Here is a crop showing this happening. It is not limited to just dark or light parts of the image, but the entire thing.

Canon 7d Mark II Raw Files In Bridge

I need help trying to figure out why my 7d2 Raw Files will not preview as thumbnails in Bridge. I have updated all my software, installed the new Raw converter, 8.7.1, and still the files show up, but there is no data associated with them nor will a preview/thumbnail show up. I can load the files one at a time, but cannot see which file I want to load so, this is unacceptable. Has anyone else had this problem? I have restarted my system to ensure all updates have been installed. It is really puzzling me. The fact that Bridge doesn't show any data on the files or recognize that a 7d2 was used must be a sign, but of what? Did the upload installation not work, or do i need to push a button somewhere in the software to activate the new driver? Need help! Thanks.

Thank-you for your help. I learned I installed the DNG Converter 8.7.1 not the ACR 8.7.1. So I installed that. I then updated Bridge from 5.1 to CC. I confirmed all other updates were installed, which they are and restarted. Everything now works like a champ.

Is elements 13 compatible with Canon 5d Mark iii raw files?

Just upgraded my camera and the raw files cannot be read on my current version of elements. Will Elements 13 be compatible - was thinking of upgrading to full photoshop but that now only seems to come in a monthly package! I really need someone to talk through my best options but there doesn't seem to be any customer service.

Photoshop elements 10 should be able to open those files if you update to camera raw 6.7

1ds mark III raw files

Hi folks,
I use to work with Canons 1Ds Mark III raw files (all about 21MP or more).
Using Quick Preview mode everything runs fine in terms of speed.
But as soon as adjustment mode is used it takes up to 10secs to laod the raw files. (Loading...)
Comparing this to the latest DPP Version or Capture One 4.1 this seems to be an incredible long time as the other apps take 2 to 3 secs to show the raw file.
What's going on here? I suppose this to be a raw decoding issue rather than a hardware issue???
Anyone else similar experiences ?

i work the same files on my G5 and usually wait a few seconds to load ... soon i will upgrade to a new MacPro, but this old beast has been great for me, and i am not sure how to break it to her that i want to "trade" her in for a newer model ...
i've also heard the the ati is better .. there has been talk of it here on this board, also check out barefeats.com to see what tests they have done ...

For Cs 5, please use the latest version of Camera raw. Cannon 5D Mark III is supported on Camera raw 6.7. Update the software or download install the camera raw 6.7 from the Adobe Website.
Lightroom 4, please wait for the next update of camera raw for the support of Cannon 5D Mark III. You may try using the beta version of Camera raw 7.1 available on Adobe labs.

Your only option is to upgrade to CS6 or convert images to DNG.
