I can't download email into Outlook 2011. Get "can't find server" error message.

I recently purchased a new iMac and had my local Apple store move over all of my documents from my G5 running PPC version 10.5.8. However because I am using several programs that don't have an Intel Mac version I continue to use both computers. But recently I decided it was time to make the full move to my new iMac. However, when I installed MS Office 2011 with the Outlook option it imported the old email and contacts files but it will not download new emails. I have the same email account info on both computers but Outlook hangs up when it tries to downloan new messages while the PPC version works like a charm. Now I purchased Mountain Lion over the weekend thinking that might solve the problem but it did not.
The message I get on my screen is "There was a problem connecting to the server "Tim's G5"". The server may not exist or it is unavailable at the time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection and then try again."
I have no idea what this message is referring to but it only appears when I open Outlook.
Can anyone help me? I can't switch over to my new iMac unti I know for sure Outlook will work properly.

Sometimes Can't Send email in Outlook 2011

I recently bought a new iMac and am running OS X 10.7.4. Because I had Entourage on my old iMac, and the new iMac/OS wouldn't support it, I bought Outlook for Mac 2011 to import my (many) archived email messages. However, when I pull up an old email that I imported from Entourage and modify it in any way, Outlook will not send it. This seems to be especially true when I put new attachments on the email. I get a popup message saying "Message could not be saved." When I try again I get a message that says "Message could not be sent" with some gibberish about needing to set up an email account (it is) or put an addressee in the "to," "cc:," or "Bcc:" block (I did). Any ideas?

Does this issue occur on Online mode or Cached mode?
I guess on Cached mode only. If it is the case, please try to re-add the user into Outlook or re-create a new profile for testing.

I have Acrobat 10 and was getting update error messages so I finally did what Adobe recommended and uninstalled Acrobat. Now I can;t re-install the program and get a number of different error messages. Help I need to read pdf docs!

I did it through CS, I think. I used the installation disk and selected Acrobat. It loads and then gives me all kinds of error messages and then uninstalls itself.

TS2621 From my iPad I get CannotConnect To The Server error message. The iPad is new and I have never received an email via the icloud acct. My PCM receives icloud mail, no problem. Internet connectivity not an issue.

From my iPad I get an error message "cannot connect to the server". Internet connection not the problem. No problem receiving mail from icloud on my PC. I think it was a set up issue. iPad is new and receives mail from hotmail no problem. It just will not connect to the icloud server.

I am having this same issue. I can access these accounts from computers, other locations on others' computers, but I cannot get the mail from one account on either my iPhone or iPad. I've deleted the account on the iPad and re-installed it, but it still will not receive mail.

Hi, there! I have an email for my business with a domain, hosted on host gator. When I send a message to my business partner, everything appears to go thru normally, but she never receives it. email functions normally thru webmail on host gator, or from my iphone. i discovered this because all of my business partner's email gets forwarded to me. So I usually get copied on my own messages. Suddenly it stopped. I have looked thru mail settings (rules, junk) on my imac and hers. I have looked thru blacklists on host gator. I am stumped. Can't import photos into new LR5 installation, no import option, just error message saying "an error occurred while attempting to change modules"

This is a new MacBook with a new CC LR5 installation. There is however no menu choice allowing me to import photos. Np right or left panels at all. When the program opens I get an error message saying there was an error changing modules.

I Nearly bought from Amazon too but I found a thread from Adobe stating that the only recognized outlet for lightoom is themselves and other outlets serial numbers will not be guaranteed.
THat at was sufficient for me to buy direct from Adobe, hope you get it sorted.

How to import .iaf files into Outlook 2011 for mac?

I exported emails from Outlook Express (PC) to .iaf files years ago and now need to access them on a mac. I have downloaded Office for mac 2011 but can't work out how to import them into Outlook 2011.
Can it be done? Any suggestions would be hugely helpful.

We can import .iaf files in Outlook 2010 using the following method:
Start Outlook 2010.
On the File menu, click Import and Export.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Export.
Click Import Internet Mail Account Settings, and then click
Next.
Follow the Internet Connection Wizard to complete the import process.
But, I don't know if we can do this in Outlook for Mac 2011. Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Outlook for Windows, it's better to post Mac related issue to the forum for Mac:

How can I open my file after 'cannot find -filename-' error message?

OK, the bottom line is, InDesign crashes and I cannot recover my file. I get a 'Cannot find file' error message when I try to open the file.
I am using CS6 on a MacBookAir, OS X Yosemite.
I have tried finding the 'InDesignFileRecovery' folder, I cannot find it anywhere, it's not in my Library or Caches folder.
However, I do work in dropbox, so I just headed over to dropbox to recover from their 'previous versions'. It starts to get weird. There are lots of previous versions (I save very regularly) but when I download a previous version (that I know was fine) it downloads with a indd.txt extension. So I remove the txt extension and keep the indd and everything looks fine, but then that recovered file gives the same message. I tried renaming the recovered file and opening that, same 'cannot find file' error message.
I can open InDesign and open the file from the day before, but none of the dropbox earlier versions of that day's work. I am SO sick of this happening. It happened to me last week to, so far I have lost 20 hours work :-(
I have tried quitting InDesign and restarting the Mac, doesn't help. The only thing I can think of is to 'save as' every couple of hours, at least then hopefully I only lose 2 hours work.

Thanks, when you say 'hidden by default' then how does one find it? I have already tried the path you mention and there is no sign of a cache folder with Adobe files. Spotlight doesn't reveal anything either.

You must email the photos from within the photos app.
You can select up to 5 photos to email at a time. While you are in thumbnail view in the photos app - tap the arrow icon in the uper right corner. Then tap on up to 5 photos in order to select them. Tap the Share button in the upper left corner and then select - email

I want to transfer emails from outlook 2011 for mac to outlook 2010 for windows.
Outlook 2011 exports mails only in olm format and there is no option to import olm files in outlook 2010.
I can drag and drop emails from outlook 2011 to a finder folder which saves emails as eml files. How can import eml files into outlook 2010.

If the account can be set up with programs like TB, simply add the account, starting from File/New(or AppMenu/New Message)/Existing Mail Account. If TB doesn't detect the right settings, enter them manually according to the account provider's requirements. If the provide offers IMAP access, all of the webmail folders will be downloaded. If POP only is offered, the Inbox will be downloaded.

Getting Contacts into Outlook 2011

I just installed Microsoft Office 2011 onto my MacBook and I'm wondering if anyone out there knows how to get the contacts from my Apple Contacts into Outlook so I can use it as my e-mail program but still have all my contacts in that program without having to manually type them into Outlook?

I figured it out....It's actually pretty simple such as highlighting them, putting them on the desktop, then taking that and putting it in Outlook and all the sudden, all the addresses are in the Outlook Address Book.

Every time I send an email it first tries to send these 3 mails. for 2 I get an error code 3210 and for one "5.1.2 or other punctuation after the recipient's email address. g5sm23942864eem.4". I have an euronet account and not a hotmail account.
