I can't download Lion on my MacBook Pro today is something wrong with the site?
I am trying to download Lion for the first time. I have a MacBook Pro 2.6Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM and the Apple Store is not responding. Is anyone else having problems?

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

The licence terms for OS X Lion are exactly the same as for any other App Store application. An individual may download and install on as many Macs as they own.

Yes. In the future, however, only you will be able to update Lion because it will now require your Apple ID.

Power Nap only works with Macs with flash storage, and it requires a firmware update that it's only supported on a Late 2010 or newer MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro with Retina display -

Go to a Office type store or online and buy a copy of Windows 7 Home Basic, Home or Pro (whatever) and stick the 64bit DVD into the computer.
You'll have to first learn about Bootcamp if your going to want to dual boot, it's complex and a hassle, but gives full hardware performance.

Another way is to first install VMFusion, Parallels or VirtualBox and then install Windows into that, Windows runs like a file in a window on OS X. You can run Windows programs in that, but it's not as powerful as BootCamp method, but more convenient for most normal (non-hardware taxing) programs. -

FWIW, iWork as such is no longer available; it is now separate applications: Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
Do you have the older (via install DVD) iWork 09 version installed? Then the new versions should show up in Updates (mac app store). -

If it was purchased on the App Store, then yes. But it will require the same Apple ID used to purchase it in order to re-download it onto your computer. The re-download is free.

I'm confused. Are you saying that your mac came with an older version of OS X, but you want to be able to use OS X Lion, which you downloaded from the App store? If this is not the case, what do you mean by "I downloaded os x but my laptop started off with os x lion and i want os x lion back"? Specifically, what do you mean by "I downloaded OS X" if your mac came with Lion? -

I bough a used Macbook Pro mid 2009 that came with OS 10.8.9 it didn't have a backup restore disk with S/N W8******66D
When trying to view some youtube videos; a window would pop up saying "it needs adobe flash player is required for video play back get the latest flash player" but after downloading the file and during installation would have errors and will not installed.....tried to reboot and install again.....but still the same.
The othe thing I had noticed is when using a good Bose headset with mic the sound output would noticed the headset and then switch from headset to Internal speekers and headset.....thinking that there might be something wrong with the plug in port of the computer or the headset.....the headset works with no issues on my iPad so there must be something wrong with the computer.....tried to move the plugin around the port but no change....while the headset is plug in can hear a short clicking noise and the sound would get lost and back again......but with nothing plugin to the port there is no issue with the sound or mic.

Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check. -

MacBook Pro attempts to power up with the lid shut
My MacBook Pro attempts to start up with the lid shut. The apple on the lid lights up and I can hear the hard drive attempt to boot up. I have recently had the logic board replaced. I have tried to put the computer to sleep before closing the lid but i still experience the same problem.
thanksI'd suggest taking it back to wherever you had the thing repaired and tell them what's happening. My guess is the new logic board is bad, but it could be something as simple as the flex cable for the top case being in improperly. That cable is a bit tricky to get in right, and it's easy to break the locking mechanism, otherwise I'd suggest trying to reseat it yourself. So, take it back, they will most likely do that themselves, and odds are just end up replacing the logic board again.

When I try to play a dvd on my Macbook Pro I get a box with the message " This is only for activated users. To activate go to preferences,donate" this takes me to Mr. Gecko's facebook page asking me to donate $1.99-$4.99.
Any clues on what this is, and/or how to bypass it? If I can report this to someone? ThanksSure sounds like malware, unles you installed something from a questionable site, then it's still malware but in a payware form as playing DVDs is free on Mac's.
Unless the DVD has software on it perhaps?

I'm having a problem updating the jdk7-openjdk package (jdk7-openjdk-7.u21_2.3.9-4). When I went to update via pacman, pacman replied that files existed in the filesystem. I removed the jdk and reinstalled, only to be told that the package still exis
