I can't download Mountain Lion on my computer.

I signed in using my apple ID, bought Mountain Lion, Dropdown says, "Downloading", and nothing happens at all.  Been trying to three days now.  Can someone help me?  I have a 2010 iMac, and a Airbook.

Yes. The other computer will have to be running Snow Leopard or Lion and sign into the App Store with the same Apple ID used to purchase Mountain Lion.

Can I get a direct download link other than from app store

Try opening the Terminal utility in your system and running the following command to open the system's caches folder:
    open $TMPDIR../C
Then locate and remove the folder called "com.apple.appstore" and then try relaunching the App Store and downloading the installer again.

  • Can I download Mountain Lion now but install later

I made a " Qualifying purchases between June 11, 2012, and July 25, 2012 " so I have until August 24, 2012 to download Mountain Lion for free according to <http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/>
Can I download Mountain Lion before that deadline but install it later on?
I'd like to go from Lion to Mountain Lion when ML has nay initial bugs resolved.
    Thanks.

Yes, the installer downloads to the Applications folder, if after downloading it asks to continue to do the installation just close that dialogue.  Later, when you are ready to install click on the installer in the Applications folder and it will do its thing.

The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down.  Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
Reminder: create full backup before you upgrade OS
    Hope it helps.

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

  • HT202159 Hi can anyone help? Can't download - Mountain lion now permanently 'paused' in the dock. Purchase page does not have the resume button and I have already signed in & out again... HELP!

    Hi
    Can anyone advise...
Cannot download Mountain Lion after purchasing from Apple online. Mountain Lion icon is now permanently 'paused' in the dock. The Purchase page has the download but no resume button. I have enter the code again but it cannot be redeemed again. I have signed in and out again from the tab at the top of the page.
I have spoken to Apple for two evenings now. Last attempt was to bypass the Mountain Lion and download Mavericks overnight but nothing downloaded.
I have checked the internet connection and all is well.
Any ideas how to progress... I have an appointment to take in to Apple on Monday...

Have you tried to resume the download using Launch Pad?  The icon should be in your Dock.
    If that doesn't help ...

Disable anti virus software if installed
Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
    Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

  • How can i download mountain lion, if it tells me it is damaged or not signed?

I recently bought Mountain lion and tried to download it the first time it went well, but due to a internet faiure the dowload was canceled when I tried to download it again I couldnt it said that it was either damaged or not signed... what does that even means!!!!! I want to download mountain lion as soon as possible!!!

Means you have a corrupted DL. All I can suggest is try again or post your issue to http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact.html?form=account and let them deal with this crappy delivery system.

  • Where can I download Mountain Lion?

I was about to upgrade my system from 10.6 to 10.8, but decided to wait for the new OSX announcement. I run professional applications(Pro Tools, FCP, Photoshop) that absolutely NEED to work. Currently, 10.9 isn't a stable platform for these applications from what I've heard, so I'm looking for 10.8.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or tell me that its completely unavailable, it'd be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    -Sean

You can't. Mavericks is the only available version of OS X. You can only update to 10.6.8. You may be able to obtain it or Lion by the following:
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.

  • HT3825 I am running mac os x version 10.5.8 can I download Mountain Lion?

I am currently running mac os x version 10.5.8 can I download OS X Mountain Lion directly or do I have to go back and download snow leopard and lion before I can download Mountain lion?

Snow Leopard is a requirement. Mountain Lion will only be offered via the App Store and the App Store requires 10.6.6 (at least).

  • Can't download Mountain Lion / iPhone 5 won't sync with iCal & Contacts on iMac

Have a 2007 iMac.  Running Snow Leopard.  Contacts and iCal aren't syncing to iPhone 5.  Did a little research and decided maybe it was because I'm not upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Tried to download Mountain Lion and it says it cannot because it requires 2GB of memory.  Help.  What do I do now?

A 2007 iMac, according to http://www.everymac.com can go up to 6 GB ram.  you have to check and see if yours is on the compatible list at http://www.apple.com/osx/specs and if it is not, you can still go to Lion by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE and purchaing a download code to use to download 10.7.5 from the Mac App Store.  Lion is compatible with iCloud, also.
You still need at least 2 GB ram, 4 GB is much better.  Go to OWC, or Crucial to see about more ram.
