I can't download my e-mail attachments in Yahoo! mail.

I followed Yahoo's troubleshooting advice and upgraded my browser to the latest version of Firefox, and I don't have any file types blocked in my settings. I still can't download my attachments. No warnings or error messages pop up, but when I click the link it just won't download. It does nothing.

ok, I found a way around the problem 4 now.
RT. click on the image and View Image Info
in the window that pops up click Save As
rename file and change extension (something.jpg) save in the desired location on your computer.

You should be able download and view most attachments from within the Mail app on your iPhone. All you would need to do is tap on the attachment to download it and then tap it again to view it. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Firefox crashes, even in safe mode, when I try to add attachments in Yahoo mail -- running Mac OSX 10.4.11, FF 3.6.16.

Firefox has consistently crashed when adding attachments in Yahoo mail. For a while Firefox would crash immediately when I clicked "attach." Then, for a while it would allow me to upload files if they were located in a folder that the Yahoo mail application opened when I clicked "attach," but if I tried to navigate to a different folder, I would crash when I clicked on the root user folder. I then updated Flash and tried Firefox in safe mode, and now Firefox (in safe mode or not) is again crashing as soon as I click attach in Yahoo mail. My system is as above, Mac OSX Tiger (10.4.11) on an original Mac Pro, all stock parts (I had added some aftermarket RAM but removed it some time ago, before these crashes started). Firefox does NOT generate a crash report dialog when I restart.

can't make much of this crash log but try this. when you get to the smtp server page in setup assistant hold option while clicking "create" or 'continue". this will skip the actual server validation and might prevent crashing.

What is it with the application "mail" and the Yahoo mail servers that is in conflict all the time. We have reconfigured the settings and done everything possible and the "mail" application is still conflicted.... Running Lion 10.7.4

I know it is a pretty long question and am unsure if it can be answered, but have had just a lot of trouble with the Yahoo mail servers... Where could a man go and get the mail application, I can not find it in the app store. It is my thought maybe to just replace the app I have with another mail application and reconfigure everything and go from there. But I do not know where the mail application can be found.

Excessive Incoming Messages in Mail configured to Yahoo Mail

Each time I open Mail on my new Mac Mini (OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3), Mail Activity shows thousands of incoming messages arriving at a rate of roughly 40 per minute. But the only emails going into my inbox are "legitimate" emails from friends and customers.
I've configured Mail to use Yahoo Mail (although I've also set up and enabled an iCloud account which I don't use). Are those thousands of incoming messages in fact old Yahoo Mail messages that have to load onto Mail each time I open it?
Whatever they are, is this avoidable? I don't seem to be losing any messages, but it slows the computer down for quite a while, and just doesn't "feel right".
If this is an issue inherent to Yahoo Mail on a Mac, I will consider using a different main address. What sort of address is least likely to be problematic with Mail software? Changing my main email address is a big deal and I wouldn't want to have to do it again in the near future.
P.S. Would prefer answers that are understandable to, say, an unusually bright chimp

If I understand you correctly, you would like to handle your mail directly on the remote server? That is not possible from Mail.app. There may be other Mail clients that offer this option or you could simply handle your Mail with your web browser.

Firefox 35.0.1 still cannot allow attachments in Yahoo mail when IE 11 can allow it

I have updated from earlier versions and since recent updates versions 32 on as observed , Yahoo mail cannot do attachments to any new mail message. I can download though !!

Why can't i make attachments with yahoo mail in the newest Firefox?

i use yahoo mail. in the old versions of firefox it works perfectly. i use now firefox 3.6.25 if i upgrade to the latest firefox, yahoo mail doesn't work anymore. i can't attach anything. the button 'attach' stays grey and unclickable. it is the reason i don't upgrade. can someone help me? o i work on a macbook pro, with mac os 10.6.8 running.

Well, my problem with Yahoo Classic is different--I cannot click on some of the buttons! Very weird. No beach ball, but when I attach files to send an email and click on "Attach Files", nothing. Same with a couple others.
Going to try to install the new Flash as Mark suggested. Anyone else have this issue?
I probably should change to Yahoo's newer mail app but I just prefer the Classic version.

How to open attachments (in Yahoo mail).

Whenever I receive an attachment in yahoo mail (word or pdf) I just want to open it. When I click on these attachments my only option is to save them... then I have to go to the folder where I saved them and open them from there. How can I just open an attachment without having to save it (like in IE)?

This is the code I use to send mail, it's not specific to gmail, but it works. The "props" object expects the usual mail properties, "mail.smtp.host", "mail.user" or "mail.smtp.user", as well as "mail.smtp.ssl" which you'd want to set to "true" if you're using gmail. It also expects "mail.smtp.passwd" or "mail.passwd" which my gut tells me is unsafe, but I'm not sure why.

I am unable to download a video I made on my iBook and sent to myself in yahoo mail and tried to download on my ipad2. I tap the icon of the little movie camera and end up with a play arrow with a line through it, like a do no smoke sign. The file is a m4v. Thanks
