I can't find Imessage

Hello,
this is extremely fustrating but I just purchased a Mac Air 11 inch refurb which is running
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 and I can not find nor activate iMessage. I have searched for it in my apps and it simply is not there. Do I need to purcahse this or what if so why the heck wouldn't it be included with the computer I just bought a month ago!

You are using OS X Lion, and Messages (with iMessage) is included on OS X Mountain Lion.
If you bought the computer recently, see if you can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion for free > http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate
If you can't upgrade to Mountain Lion for free, open App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion. Make a backup of your files before upgrading

Okay so I just updated my mac to the latest software.. Mountain Lion. I still can't find iMessage on it though. iChat is still there.

I restarted my laptop a few times and it still didn't work. What should I do to find iMessage? I thought it was supposed to replace iChat after I update my software to Mountain Lion.. :S

You are running Lion not Mountain Lion thus iChat. If you want Messages then you will have to upgrade (purchase) Mountain Lion from the App Store.

Press Command Spacebar and type Messages into the spotlight search. It should be the first hit. Start it there and right click it's icon on the dock and select Options > Keep in Dock.

There is no Siri "icon". You access Siri using the Home button. But you may need to turn it on: Settings App > General > Siri. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4992
Same for the FaceTime function (but if it is ON, there will be an icon): Settings App > FaceTime > [turn it on and set you Apple ID. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319

On the devices go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and look. There is no way of doing that remotely.

Did you tap in the box at the bottom of iMessage?
If you did and no keyboard is showing: Do a reset
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
If that didn't helped, double tap Home button, delete the Message app and reset again.

Where can I find my imessages and texts?

I broke my iphone last week and had to replace it. In the meantime, I've been getting texts and calls like crazy (the screen is gone due to water damage). I had my stuff backed up to itunes and icloud. I can see my pictures in the photostream, all my apps, and music are in itunes. When I logged on to icloud.com I saw that I have my contacts and calendar all there. So my phone came in, I just bought a used one off an ebay store my friends all use, since my upgrade is almost due. I do the restoring from icloud, then sync my phone to itunes....everything shows up but my texts. I really don't need them all, If I can go find them, read the specific ones I need from imessage and pull up the call history from last week from the numbers i forgot to save--I would be insanely happy with just that. It's work related, so that's really the only reason why I would even care to get them back. Thanks in advance.

You can't view them on iCloud.com. You have to view them on a device or computer that is signed into your iCloud account with photo stream enabled unless you create a shared stream with the public website option enabled (which gives you a private url to view them on the web from your web browser).

A wet phone is out of warranty. This is considered user damage. Even if you were able to get it to start now, the chances of it working for long are slim. I suggest going to Apple and see about an OOW replacement. One for the iPhone 4 is only $149USD and it would come with a short warranty. It is a refurbished device and you would not be worried about encountering additional problems.

i can"t seem to find iMessages on my MBA. isn't it already installed if my software is 'Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4'? or should i try to update the mac?
i got my macbook in november so i thought it already had imessages on it since it came out in the summer of 2012

You have iChat, not Messages which is only in 10.8 and later. There was a public beta of Messages for 10.7, but it's expired.

Ask them? There is no way for you know without asking them directly. Anything anyone adds to their blocked list is only known to them, and those they choose to tell. Since it is a personal decision to block or unblock someone and a privacy issue as to whom they have blocked, nobody else has any way to find out without asking the person directly.

What ID do you want to change? To change your iTunes ID, go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID. To change the ID for iMessage, do the same thing in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive. To change the ID for FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime. To change the ID for iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the ID you want to use.

How can I force iMessage to recognize another iMessage device?

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOs 7, iMessage will not recognize a friend's iphone for sending messages via iMessage. Prior to updating to iOs 7.0.2, I had no issues with iMessage. Other people can write to me and to my friend with iMessage and he and I can send iMessages to other people, we just can't iMessage each other. All messages between us and group messages that each of us are a participants in are sent as SMS messages. I have tried the following fixes with no success:
1. Turning iMessage off and on.
2. Turning the phone of and on.
3. Hard resetting the phone (holding the home and power buttons until the apple logo appears).
4. Turning iMessage off, resetting network settings, and reactivating iMessage.
5. Backing up phone, erasing the phone completely, and restoring to a backup.
Does anyone have any clue about this?
Additionally I would like to report this issue to Apple, but the only way that I have been able to find is to pay for support. I don't want to pay $30 to report an issue. Does anyone know how to report issues without paying?

I have the same problem on iOS 7.0.3. With one particular friend I receive iMessages from her just fine and I can send her iMessages from Mac OS X and Messages on iPad, but Messages on my iPhone keep sending her my messages as Text messages. I send iMessages just fine from the same iPhone. SFChuch, what ios version is your recipient using? Did they sign up on iCloud? I wonder if the problem happens with recipients who are not properly registered on iCloud or some special case like that.
