I can't find IMOVIE!

I bought my macbook air that came with os x lion and ilife 11, in ilife it comes with movie, i updated iMovie from the mac app store. I did some editing after that but now, today, i can't find iMovie?!? i don't know where it is! i searched for it on applicATIONS AND IT'S not there, i went to the mac app store and i went to imovie, in the bottom it said accept i did but it says this app has already been accepted, but i cant find it! please help...

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Open a Finder window, select Applications in the sidebar and look for iMovie. Make sure there are no external disks connected, and if so, disconnect them, open the App Store and install iMovie.
You can also use Spotlight to look for iMovie, so press Command and Space keys and type iMovie

Where can I find iMovie HD 6.0.3

A student of mine is requesting the older version of iMovie HD v 6. 0.3 I used to be able to find it on Apples website but not anymore. Can anyone help?

You can get iMovie 06 in a number of ways. You cannot download it FROM APPLE any longer (it was free for a time). You can also find iMovie 06 on the iLife 06 install disc. You can buy iLife 06 on Amazon or eBay.
But be prepared to pay about double the cost of iLife 11 (but well worth every penny). Seller's are becoming aware of its value.

Please help. I can't find iMovie.

I just bought a new Macbook Pro mid 2012, ver 10.8.2 one month ago and now I can't find iMovie although I searched all over in Application folder and by spotlight. I remember that I didn't delete anything ref iMovie. How can I find it?

Can't find imovie file on my hard drive

I have a imovie file on my hard drive that I can't find. I really want to delete it so
that I can free up some room on my hard rive. It's at least 15 gigs big. I tried using the search icon in the upper right hand corner and I tried using the 'find' option under the 'finder' menu, searching for any files over 5 gigs in size. Can anyone help me find this file so I can get rid of it?

An iMovie project is a package, not a file; the actual files inside it are smaller. Use a tool such as WhatSize to locate it.

Can't find iMovie

As you can see I have a Macbook pro 2,66 ghz 15 inch and a time agoo it totally crashed. To use my mac again i did following: I just put in the snow leopard disc and installed it. The problem is that since i was able to use it again I couldn't find iMovie, it seems that it don't exist anymore (I've searched also).
What do you think the problem is? May it be that I didn't use the regular Mac os x discs that came with the computer? (Only used the snow leopard disc).

Example: Lets say you install version 2. and you have version 3, it should be 2 and the end.

If your computer came with a set of discs, it may be unnecessary to purchase the applications from the App Store, as they can be reinstalled from the discs that came with the computer.

If you do desire to upgrade to the newest versions of these applications (should the computer have shipped with iLife '08 or '09), then the apps are now separate items in the App Store. However, even separately, the applications are a great deal less expensive than their older counterparts.

Where can I find iMovie (2013) projects?

I missed one and I can't find it in Time machine... Thank you for your help.

In iMovie, there are 8 themes and 15 trailers and no 3rd party themes/trailers are available.
To preview the themes and trailers, open iMovie and click on File > New Project.
A window will open showing you all the availables.
You can play with these by clicking on any of them for a preview of how they will look and work.
I suggest in your case you have a look at either the Holiday or Travel movie trailers.
Remember you will be adding your own video and text so you can give these a China look and feel.

Can't find Imovie file on external drive

I finalized a project and exported it to an external hard disk. Used ' share' and 'export using quick-time' and saved it on a hard disk. However I can't find the file anywhere on the hard disk. What am I doing wrong??

And the external hard drive is formatted as ?
for video - it must be Mac OS Extended (hfs) (mine are journaled)
UNIX / DOS / FAT32 / Mac OS Exchange works for most other things BUT NOT for video whatever editing tool used. iMovie, FinalCut etc doesn't matter - it just doesnt work but cut's up video in 4GB bit's that don't connect back or play.
Select the ext. HD icon (one click) then go up to file and down to Show Info and read
• Formatted as : nnnnnnnnnnnn
• Frames per second

Can't find Imovie project on HD

I've been having a nightmare week trying to burn a DVD from Imovie.
I think a source of the problem may be that I cannot find the movie on the HD. I'm pretty sure that when it's playing in Imovie its playing from the external HD. I understand this would make it difficult to burn.
I copied the big folder (I can't find the .mov file in it!) to the HD and set the one that was in the external in the trash. Imovie said it couldn't open the file "cause it was in the trash.
I've been on the IDVD-4 thread for a few days now. I've done lots of clean-up and disc utilities repair.

The size of the iMovie project folder is not important for iDVD, only running time. On my 800MHz G4 iMac, it takes about 5 hours to compress a 60 minute DVD. So there must be something wrong with your Mac, iDVD or your iMovie project.

Where can I find iMovie 6?

The problem in brief: I've been using iMovie HD 6.04 since I got my current iMac (10.5.8) with no problem. Out of the blue, a problem with the sound tracts has developed. I fear that nothing less than reinstalling iMovie 6 will help, but I'm unable to find a copy to download. I've tried to create a new user, delete the plist file and restore iMovie 6 from the backup drive - all to no avail. While the iMac came with iMovie 8 installed, I am desperately trying to avoid switching to this version from imovie 6.
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of iMovie 6?

The sound problem, about which you ask, is briefly this:
Normally, the timeline of a given project shows you three sound tracks (the first being associated with the video). Normally, each of these has a volume bar, which you can modify within a given video clip, so that you can have an audio "fade in/fade out" effect, just like the "fade in/fade out" effect for the video. I have scores of home movies where I inserted these audio fades with no problem. Today, out of the blue, the bars have disappeared. The effects are there, but in the absence of the bars, I cannot edit the audio any further, nor can I create additional movies with this audio effect.

Where can I find "iMovie splash" video?

Following a catastrophic kernel panic and subsequent erase and install, I seem to have lost that little QuickTime video called "iMovie splash". Does anyone know where I can download it again? It lasts about 7 seconds and consists of a group of children dancing with a close-up of one of the girls grinning and clapping her hand over her mouth. The final caption reads "iMovie". I used to append it to the end of all my iMovie "productions".

David, sorry to be so thick but I thought that because I sent you an e-mail, using the address I found by clicking on your name, you would automatically be able to send me a return e-mail. As you can see, I'm merely trying to get out of publishing my e-mail address within Preferences because I only have two addresses which are both used extensively. Alternatively, could I just send you an e-mail which contains my e-mail address? That would be my preferred option. If I'm barking up the wrong tree, just let me know and I'll see if I can remember how to either create a new address and use that, or alternatively use one of my two current addresses in Preferences for just as long as it takes for you to send me the attachment and afterwards, remove it.

Where can I find iMovie 4 keyboard shortcuts?

Just got done with an iMovie project that required turning the Ken Burns effect off for about 20 pictures. Is there a keyboard short cut that can uncheck that effect? Or is there a way to import the photos without having the KB effect on to start?
Any other help on keyboard shortcuts would be appreciated. I am getting tennis elbow.

Can't find iMovie special effects

I have found the advance tools, but it looks like it only affects color. The older iMovie had special effects like rain, lightning bolt, ... Where are they in '08?

There are no "effects" in iMovie 7.
You can still use your older iMovie 6 if you need them in your "video".

I can't find iMovie on my brand new macbook pro. I'm pretty sure it was there the first time I started it up, but now I can't locate it. Suggestions?

Does anyone know why it's not installed on this computer? I asked the sales guy before I bought it and he said it was there. And I think I remember seeing the icon. This is incredibly frustrating.

Should be in the Applications folder - can be added back to the dock - or if accidentally deleted should be able to get it back from the CD that came with the system.
