I can't find iSync...

I just got a Palm Centro phone and I have been trying to find a way to sync my iCal with the phone. It seems like iSync is the best way to go, but I can't find the app to download. I am running Mac OS 10.4.11 and when I go to the iSync portion of the download site nothing will download. Can anyone help? Thanks

You don't download it - it's part of a default Mac OS X installation, and you'll find it in your Applications folder.
Try searching for it in Spotlight.

I can't find iSync after lion install. I try too sync with my N8 Nokia. The program iSync dont appear in program mapp.

It's Apple's software not yours and as shown by it's exclusion on the OS X Lion pages is not part of the new OS. Upgrading to Lion is optional.
It's a trivial matter to copy it back from your Snow Leopard backup, but using it under Lion is not supported at all and WILL stop working sooner or later.
Why would it be sensible for Apple to include software in their new OS that they know will stop working?

  • Where can I find Isync standalon pkg?

Cause I can't delete my Nokia E71, I delete the whole isync application, and i can't find a place to download the pkg to re-install again.
    Can anybody help?

Firstly, you should never delete whole applications trying to fix errors, especially when you haven't got a way to re-install it.
Secondly, your problem is more likely caused by a corrupt preference file. Deleting and re-installing the application isn't likely to help in this case.
And finally, iSync has not been available as a separate download for years. It needs to be re-installed from your original Mac OS X Installation DVD.
Instructions for doing this are available here:

  • After installing OSX 10.9 can't find iSync

Trying to Sync Blackberry and required to turn on iSync in Applications folder....but iSync not in my apps folder

Sorry, but iSync isn't part of OS X since 10.7. It isn't compatible anymore with 10.9 since Apple moved out all sync services.
I think you have to rely on the BB software, like here: http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop/desktop-mac.html
    Hope this helps...

You google, "sync with nokia phones on Lion" and come up with this and more:

  • Old "installed" iSync doesn't open. Can't find appropriate download: 10.3.9

I need to find a functioning version of iSync for my G4 iMac running 10.3.9 in order to sync my iCal items with a Palm Treo that I bought. My "installed" (unnumbered) version of iSync doesn't open and I can't find an appropriate version of iSync for my Mac to download. My machine won't allow me to install iSync 1.5.

    Welcome To  Discussions voicemark!
See if the info HERE is applicable.
"My "installed" (unnumbered) version of iSync doesn't open and I can't find an appropriate version of iSync for my Mac to download."
What do you mean by "unnumbered"?
Click once on the iSync icon to highlight it.
Press the Command + I keys, to Get Info.
    What is displayed for Version?
Navigate to HD > Users > Your Account > Library > Permissions.
In that folder, locate, and move to the Trash this file com.apple.isync.plist.
    Run Repair Permissions.
    Try to again launch iSync.
If that doesn't correct the problem, no guarantees, but you could try the procedure posted below.
Move the currently installed iSync application, to the Trash.
Also, in HD > Library > Receipts: Move any iSync files to the Trash as well, but don't empty it.
Use the utility Pacifist, to extract a new copy of the original from the system restore disc.
    Run Repair Permissions.
    Install the downloaded iSync application.
    Run Repair Permissions again.
Run Software Update, and install the available updates that are presented.
    Again run Repair Permissions.
TO REPAIR PERMISSIONS ON THE STARTUP DISK
1.Open Disk Utility, located in Applications/Utilities, and select the startup disk in the left column.
    2.Click First Aid.
3.Click Verify Disk Permissions to test permissions or Repair Disk Permissions to test and repair permissions. (I never "Verify". Just run "Repair".)
Rerun RP, until the only messages reported, are listed here Spurious Permissions Errors Using: 10.3.x, authored by Michael Conniff.
When "Repair Permissions" is complete. Quit "Disk Utility".

  • I can't find a phone. Please help.

Seem to be spinning my wheels here.
I re-upped my cell phone plan on Saturday and bought an LG Xenon. The hoops I have to jump through to sync with my data on my Mac are too much. I need to exchange it, but I've spent hours on the web and the phone between my carrier, apple, manufacturers, plug-in coders and everyone's sister and can't find the phone that suits my needs. Anyone who's been here that can help would be greatly appreciated. Here are my parameters:
    Carrier: AT&T
Must be able to easily sync with Apple's iSync.
I can't afford the extra $30/mo for the Data Service (don't need to have internet on my cell) which leaves out the iPhone and many others.
BUT I did up my plan to cover texting, so having a phone with a QWERTY keypad is desired, but not 100% necessary.
<$50 with new contract which I already did.
    Any insight? thanks!

Apple should have a more updated list of iSync compatible phones on this site (note that not a single phone on your list is on their most current list from March?!?).
The list that Apple provides is 100% up-to-date as of the current version of iSync. Apple haven't added any new phones to iSync since October 2007.
As explained in the other thread, Apple's list only contains the phones supported by iSync natively "out-of-the-box". It does not include the hundreds of additional models supported by manufacturer and third-party iSync Plugins.
Unfortunately, there is no "master list" of native, manufacturer and third-party supported phones. Apple does provide links to a number of third-party iSync Plugin providers web-sites here, but that is by no means all providers.
Manufacturers stray from standards all too often, seemingly for proprietary sake.
Nokia and Sony Ericsson include SyncML in almost all their phones (except for the most basic ones). Samsung have started including SyncML in a lot of their phones now. LG included SyncML in 3 of their recent models.
AT&T should offer a better variety and be more consistent and current across their distribution channels.
That's definately true. From what I've seen, most US network operators offer a very limited range of phones, and in some cases even cripple the standard features (Bluetooth, syncing etc.). Here in the UK (and the rest of Europe) there are literally dozens of iSync compatible phones on sale in every mobile phone store, for every network - so you've always got a choice. It's a shame the same isn't true in the US.
P.S. I'm in hopes that some of the plug-in coders will be making one for this phone soon. please reply here if you see anything.
If the phone has SyncML then its quite possible a plugin will appear at some point, but often with less mainstream models, it's an end user who takes that task on and perhaps posts the plugin to their own web-site. But it could be weeks, months or never before a plugin appears.

  • Installed 10.5.4 and can't launch iSync

Following installation I've just launched iSync and get a dialogue box with the message: "*iSync can't be launched* SyncServices: Can't connect to the sync server: NSInvalidReceivePortException: connection went invalid while waiting for a reply ((null))"
I can't find any assistance for the problem, can anyone help me please

I have tried everything suggested here and my problem remained. I also tried the advice documented here: [http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627?viewlocale=enUS&locale=enUS] to reset Sync Services.
I finally talked to a very helpful young man at Apple Support, who listened to my story and directed me to take the following action:
Move the SyncServices folder located at ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices to the desktop
Trash all the caches in ~/Library/Caches
    Restart machine (with fingers crossed)
All now seems well and after I'll shortly trash the SyncServices folder sat on the desktop.
I didn't have your issues with lost calendars or scrambled address book contacts but assuming that you're using .Mac you can put this right once you get syncing up and running assuming that you've got clean data (calendars and contacts) on the .Mac server

  • Where can I find instructions to sync my treo?

My harddrive crashed and I am starting over. I can't seem to find documentation to sync my treo 650 with ical -addressbook etc. I did it before. I am not sure why I can't find the info now.
Anyopne have a link or two???
    Thanks!

Yes, and it will—in addition—automatically disable the Palm Memo and Memos Conduits. You can move those from the Disabled Conduits folder back into the active Conduits folder once this process is completed, if you wish to continue synchronizing memos alone with the Palm Desktop.
    You'll find those folders here:
    Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync
Before adding the device to iSync, you must also either attach it using a USB cable or cradle, or pair it using Bluetooth.

  • Can´t find software updates at appstore

    Hi everybody:
I have a mac mini i7 (Late 2012) with 10.9.1. When I open the appstore, the macintosh can´t find the software updates available (both apple apps and third-party apps). How can I solve this trouble?
    Thanks in advance,
    Manu

    ahtnamas42, welcome to Apple Discussions.
One way to find the updates is to use Apple's search page @ http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search
For example, in the search box put "iSync 1.5" "update" & select the Document type Download. Usually you will find what you need. Or you can input "iSync 1.5" "update" "download".

  • Podcasts downloaded to "wrong" folder, then ITunes can't find it anymore

    Hi
When I subscribe to a podcast or download the newest podcast, it will be saved not to the folder of itunesmusic/podcasts/name of podcast, but to /itunesmusic/downloads/podcasts/name of podcast, apparently as tmp-folder. Synchronising just then with my IPOD works, but when I exit ITunes and restart it, the podcast is not found anymore and I get the exclamation mark. When I search for it I can't find the podcast then anymore.
I have ITunes 7.0.2.16 and running Windows XP.
Any one has an idea how to solve this?
Also is there a way to downgrade ITunes to version 6 or so? Because there it worked without problems.
    Appreciate any feedback.

Too my a bit to work out *** was going on, but it was driving me insane with podcasts vanishing on me.
To clarify, this is a full description of the issue:
I have a problem with iTunes losing podcasts. They'd download, seem to play, but when I exited and reloaded iTunes a load of them would be lost and give me the exclamation icon. I've managed to work out why iTunes is losing my podcasts, but have no idea how to fix it.
I've got a folder specified which I want iTunes to use to store my stuff in (E:\Media\itunes).
When I subscribe to a new podcast it downloads to a file called E:\Media\itunes\Downloads\Podcasts\File on 4_ Phone tap evidence - 21 N.tmp\download.mp3 and creates a folder called E:\Media\itunes\Podcasts\File on
I think it's supposed to save it to the first location and then copy it across to the second folder when it's finished. Except it doesn't. iTunes can run the podcast now, but from the temp folder.
When you restart itunes, it nukes everything in the E:\Media\itunes\Downloads\Podcasts folder - I assume as it thinks I have no downloads outstanding and anything in here is just junk.
Apart from manually copying, renaming and point itunes to this file - how do I get around this problem. It's only started since I went to iTunes7 and a complete uninstall/registry/config cleanse followed by a reinstall doesn't fix the problem.

  • Aio remote can't find printer

I have a HP Envy 4507. My AiO Remote app can't find it. This is not a compatibility issue as I have been selling 4507's which I demonstrate by connecting to them. I originally was able to connect on the one at home but not lately. I keep on seeing the one from work. HP ePrint sees the home one fine. I have reinstalled AiO Remote and now it cannot see any printers, no matter how I try to connect. Tried ip address, direct (which was working before) and through wireless router which worked when I first set it up.

    Hi,
Thinsg to quickly check would that there has been no recent  wifi password changes - if there has been any, they password would need to be re-entered into both the mobile device and printer.
Another quick thing to try is restarting the mobile device - this sometimes helps re-establish the  connection.
