I can't find my 'incoming mail server' menu/buttons on my iTouch 4g

I mean from Home > Settings > iCloud > Account > Advanced Mail I can see where my Outgoing Mail Server is but I can't find my incoming mail server. My Mail does not work (it can only send emails, and cannot receive emails) and I think it's because I don't have an incoming mail server menu/button(s)?

No. That is not the reason.  I do not have any information/button for an incoming server and it works fine.I would delete the account on the iPod and then recreate it.

  • How can I find out the mail server from email address?

    Hi:
How can I find out the mail server from email address?
for example: If I know the email address is [email protected],
how to find the pop3 and smtp mail server?
    THANK YOU

You can't tell by the email address since you can pretty much put whatever you want in there (especially if the SMTP server is not filtering anything).
The header may be able to tell you something. There is a Received header value which looks like it has the routing information although I am not sure if this is a complete trace or just the last hop the message took.

  • Trying to add my thunderbird work email account to my new iphone, how do I find my "incoming mail server" and "outgoing mail server" host names?

Got a new Iphone 6 and I need to add my work thunderbird email account onto the phone. It is asking me for the host name of my incoming and outgoing mail server and I have no idea what this means- please help!

First off there is no such thing as a Thunderbird email account. Email providers issue email accounts and Thunderbird is email client software and not a provider.
You can look at the server settings in Thunderbird to see the settings it is using or you could get a list from your provider.
In Thunderbird go to the menu bar and select Tools-Account Settings-Server Settings to see the Inbound settings and Tools-Server Settings-Outbging Server(SMTP) for Outbound settings.
No menu bar with Tools showing? Press the alt key.

  • Can't find my login mail server

Trying to set up email account with Thunderbird mail by importing my email address of tlrose at coastyleart dot com

I think these are the settings for your web host:
    incoming IMAP server: rsb34.rhostbh.com
    port: 993
    Connection security: SSL/TLS
    Authentication: normal password
    User name: [email protected]
    outgoing SMTP server: rsb34.rhostbh.com
    port: 465
    Connection security: SSL/TLS
    Authentication: normal password
    User name: [email protected]
Start from File/New/Existing Mail Account, enter you address and password, select Manual config., select IMAP, and enter the details given above.

  • HT204053 using Mail to access my iCloud account. I can't select the incoming mail server in the account information.

    I am using Lion OS.

Thanks, but it was not able to be changed or input and was not there automatically...the problem resolved itself but took over 24 hours. This is the second time this has happened and may be related to my changing my apple password a few days prior. It seems like there is a 48 to 72 hour time lag for the server to record the change and it raises havoc with my settings.

  • In Yosemite, how do I change my incoming mail server?

In Yosemite, I can't change my incoming mail server.  I have to use one for my office network, and another when outside the network.  In the older OS I could easily change it (even though is would always rearrange the order of my email accounts).  Now the field for the incoming mail server is grayed out and can't be changed.
    Help!!

And now the solution after an online chat with the great Apple support staff.  In Mail Preferences, Accounts, Advanced tab, uncheck the "Automatically detect and maintain account settings" box.  Save the settings when closing the preferences box.  Then open preferences again and note the incoming mail server box can be changed.
...now if the software engineers can fix the annoying bug of the order of accounts being changed to "Apple Order" whenever changes are made, the Mail app will be much improved.

  • I've just upgraded from 3G to 4s, I can't remember my incoming email server password, how can I retrieve it?

    Hi,
I've just upgraded to Iphone 4s and I'm trying to set up my email, but can't remember my incoming mail server password, how can you get a reminder?

    contact your email provider.

  • HT4864 Incoming Mail Server

I can't change my incoming mail server on OSX mail.  It is greyed out and when I try to save it says it can't be blank but it isn't.  Anybody know how to fix this?

In your OSX mail app's preferences, delete the icloud account and then start again by defining it.  (I'm assuming this has to do with an icloud email account and not some other provider's like gmail.)

  • Cannot set up an Incoming Mail Server

I am trying to set up Aliases but when I get to the Incoming Mail Server field in Mail Preferences it is greyed out with "mail.example.com" and if I alter any other field and then try to save that account I get a message "Incoming Mail Server field cannot be empty".  How can I get the Incoming Mail Server field to highlight so I can insert something and what do I put in?

Yes that is what I was doing.  I am confused because initially I thought I had completed the process in Safari iCloiud but the the Aliase email address didn't show uo when I composed message and wanted to send it from that address and not the default.  I added the Aliase in Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Add new account and sent an email but looking at the inbox in Mail there is a "lightening" symbol and clicking on that and entering the password comes up with the message "Mail cannot conect to the account (aliase address)".  When I wnt back to Preferences that is when I realised that the form wasn't completed.  Since I started this thread I have received a reply to my earlier email using the Aliase address and sent a reply to that but the lightening symol still remains.  Any ideas?

  • Incoming mail server greyed out

I cannot resume email on my icloud account. I can't enter an incoming mail server. It worked before. It took all my saved mailboxes with it.

I forgot to mention that I'm using Mavericks

  • HT4864 incoming mail server wont allow me to alter info

I've upgraded to Mountain Lion & am pulling my hair out over so many things!!
All of a sudden, my iCloud mail isn't working... so I went into the account setting to see what was wrong there and found that the 'incoming mail server' box was not filled ?? why ??
Now if i want to add the correct incoming details, that box/field wont allow me to open it to enter the info !!???  So how the heck can I make the change to fix it??  Then when I want to get out of it & say 'save changes' it tells me that the 'incoming server' field cannot be left empty !! aarrgghhhhhh

This issue has been posted on several discussions, but the best answer I have receieved is to delete the account, and enter it again. We have several computers that have been updated from 10.7 to 10.8 in the house. We want to simply change the name of the mailbox, but also can not edit the Incoming Mail Server for iCloud. Deleting the mailbox, and creating it from scratch is NOT an option, since we been using it for years, and have it full of email.  Does anyone have a real option for this problem that was introduced when we upgraded from 10.7 to 10.8?
    Thank,
    Steve

  • Using Yosemite My incoming mail server changes by itself and means I can't access my email. When I go to preferences the new incoming mail server is greyed out. I then have to remove the accounts and get new ones.

Using Mail with Yosemite 10.10.2.The incoming mail server keeps changing by itself and means I can't access my mail. I  go to preferences and find that the new incoming server is greyed out .  I then have to remove the accounts and then add them again with the correct server. The incoming server which is greyed out is imap.gmail.com

Try Mail/Preferences/Accounts - select the account, then go to Advanced and deselect "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".
