I can't find Pages or Numbers in my new MacBook Pro?
I was told when I purchased my new MacBook Pro that Pages, Numbers and Keynote comes with it at no charge. I can not find these on my new computer. I saw I can download these from the Apple Store but it's $19.95? I'm I missing something?

I can't find my data after migrating to new MacBook Pro
I just finished migrating data from an older model MacBook Pro to a newer one both using OS 10.9.5. After the migration I can no longer see or access my backups on Time Capsule. It may be a permission problem. Any suggestions?

You have a new Mac. Have you been backing up the "new" Mac? If not, that Mac has no backups...yet.
You do have backups of your other "older" MacBook Pro though.
You cannot "add on" or "continue" backups of the new Mac onto backups of the older Mac.
If you want to see the backups of your "older" Mac.......right-click or try control-click or option-click the Time Machine icon on the dock and select Browse Other Time Machine Disks -

I have just upgraded to the new OS X V. 10.10.3 but cannot access my iCloud Drive documents using the resident Pages and Numbers software on my MacBook Pro. Help is needed to access those documents using the resident software on my MacBook Pro rather than the Beta software on iCloud.com.
I have iCloud Drive set on the Finder sidebar and use that to open the Numbers Spreadsheet on iCloud.

If you'd like to create a PDF from something rather than print, you can create a pdf from any print dialog.
ie. File > Print > click PDF button lower left > Save as PDF.. -

I have two iTunes accounts and was wondering if i can merge them together. I've a new macbook pro and haven't plugged my iPhone in it yet in fear of losing my songs from the previous account.
Go to the Music section of your Library (very top-left corner) and see if your songs are there. The "Purchased" playlist may have been deleted or gotten corrupted, but if that happens it's not a big deal because your music should still be in your main Music Library.
If your music is NOT in the Music section of your Library, then go to the iTunes Store homepage and find the Quick Links list on the right side. At the top of that list, click Purchased and you can redownload all of your previous content that you might have lost. -
How can I sync my iPad 2 with my new MacBook Pro when it is already synced with my old MacBook? I am getting a message on the new MacBook Pro that says I am not allowed to sync the iPad 2 because it is synced to another iTunes library.
1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPad with it.

I can't watch YouTube videos on my brand new MacBook Pro with Lion. It says I need to download Adobe Flash Player but that won't install. Help!
The same thing happens to me, Safari asks me to update the Adobe FlasPlayer, I download, start the installation process, ask me my username and password in order to install, then see a window where I choose if I want to always install the updates , or ask first, or not inslate updates, and at this point it is not progress, I can not cancel the process, I turn off and turn on my machine.
What can I do ..??

What kind of longevity can I expect from the SSD in a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display?

I recently ordered a new MacBook Pro with the Retina Display. This will be both my first computer and my first Mac that uses a SSD as the primary storage device. As the title of this post suggests, what I would like to know is what sort of lifespan/longevity can I expect to get out of it? My current MacBook Pro was manufactured in 2007 and has a stock 160GB Fujitsu hard drive that has been fantastic for me over the past 4-5 years. It continues to run like a champ, and I would hope that a brand new SSD would be able to last at least that long. Given that the new retina MBPs cannot be upgraded or (easily) user-serviced, I am somewhat curious to know whether or not Apple's new proprietary SSD modules will give out/slow to a crawl before/after my new machine becomes completely obsolete. I have been searching for articles published within the past few months on whether or not the current crop of SSDs on the market are more reliable than those introduced a year or two ago, but alas, I haven't had much luck. Perhaps it is still too early to tell?
I found a few discussion threads on here somewhere where some users indicated that their original MacBook Airs, or other SSD-equipped MacBooks, were still performing quite well and responsively after a few years of use. Can anyone substantiate this for me? How long have you been using your SSD(s) in your Mac(s), and do you think the newer models will be able to last several years? While I think your concern is legitimate (it was mine too), I think to some extent, how long they last will be up to you. The individual cells in the flash media in an SSD have limited life spans, and SSD controllers have a variety of techniques to spread that wear around evenly (wear leveling). That wear is exacerbated by the controller having to erase a whole block of data when even just one page needs to be changed, and if not all the data in the block is still valid, more data than necessary gets moved (write amplification). To provide some extra room for all this reshuffling of data, SSD manufacturers build in extra space that's inaccessible to the user (over-provisioning), but it typically runs about 7%. (This is a good discussion of the inner workings of all this)
If you stuff your SSD full of files, so that there's very little room to do all this rearranging, I think you'll experience the slowdown you're concerned about. TRIM, which Apple's SSD's support, will help, but you can too. Allow plenty of free space on your SSD and perhaps partition it so that there is free space outside the partition (check this out to see what a difference it can make). You can't use it but the controller can as an extension of the built-in over-provisioning.
You also mention that you "will most likely use it to record several tracks and store my growing library of songs and videos." Why not instead use an external SSD connected via USB 3.0 for storage? They're relatively cheap, very fast, and keep the space on your internal working drive free. A BootCamp partition would also take up space, so you might consider using Windows in a Virtual Machine instead. VMware Fusion or Parallels would be installed on the internal SSD but the virtual machine files could go on the external.
In any case, your data is more important than your SSD, so back up, back up, back up. -
Can't do a fresh install on my new MacBook Pro
I just got a new MacBook Pro and after setting it up, transferring no files, I decide that I actually would have liked to restore Leopard from my Time Machine back up. I try to do this via the Migration Assistant, but it's not working properly and it's taking up way more space on my HD than it should.
So I decide to try and reinstall Leopard and start over. Only I can't. When I insert the Leopard installation DVD and double click on "Install Leopard", it restarts, but it's just stuck on a grey screen. If I hold down alt while booting I'm asked to choice between my Macintosh HD and the installation DVD, but when I choose the DVD, it starts spinning, but stops after a while and the computer is frozen. I can't delete what's on my HD from Disk Utility either.
How do I get rid of what's on my HD and get a chance to install a fresh Leopard?
This is driving me crazy, hope you can help me!

matter, however, I looked a little closer and found two DVDs in my new computer's box. I'm doing a clean installation as we speak.
