Have you looked at the settings in iTunes. Is music syncing manual or automatic. More info please. I would try removing all restrictions as an initial test.

I believe that the fact that you were able to put the phone into Lost Mode indicates that you did have Find My iPhone setup (turned on). Have you talked to your carrier to confirm the unlock?
What was the procedure you did to unlock the phone?
Standard unlocking procedure once processed by the carrier:
Backup in iTunes
Erase the phone (ignore restore terminology here)
Plug the phone to the computer and then launch iTunes
Wait for unlock notification.
Restore the backup.

Is there a way to save the music on my iPhone so that I can put it back on a new one?

I recently got a new iPhone, and after restoring all my stuff from my old iPhone via the iTunes restore thing, I had to put all my music on manually, instead of it being restored. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but I share my iTunes with my brother and so I only want about half the songs on my device.
I'm going to go get a new iPhone (the speaker on this one doesn't work) and I'm wondering if there is any way that I can save the music that I have on my iPhone so that it's easier to get it onto my new iPhone.
I've tried putting my iPhone's music into a playlist on my computer, but that wouldn't work. I also tried looking around iTunes for some way to do that or something similar, and I'm finding that I can't get it to do what I want.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iTunes content is not included with your iPhone's backup - no music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, audio and print books, tones, and apps. All iTunes content must be transferred back to your iPhone when restoring. If you sync music with Sync Music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, music is transferred back to your iPhone from your iTunes library when syncing - syncing is followed after the iPhone is restored. If you manually manage music and videos with this selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, you must manually drag all music from your iTunes library back to your iPhone. Manually manage music means manually all the way.

Something really odd is going on. In your first screen shot, I noticed that the Applications folder does not have the proper icon displayed in the side bar. Also, in the title bar it lists it as Applications 08-59-29-909.
Not sure where it's picking up that odd name, unless it's because it's still truly within the Trash folder.
Try this. In the Finder > Preferences > General > turn on "Always open folders in a new window". (I have a feeling you have the default setting with this off).
Now, in Finder > Go > move down and open the Applications Folder from there. Now open the folder where you see all your applications that you show in your screen shot, select all, and move them to this true appliactions folder.
This is what you should properly seeing (but with different apps listed):
See how the Applications folder has the icon of the letter A shaped with a pencil, ruler & pen.

When I open gmail the account that I want to come up doesn't. Even when I put the account in manually and check "stay signed in" everytime I open gmail the account that I don't want comes up. How can I fix this???

When I go to gmail the name of one of my accounts and the password are already written in. I don't want this particular account to be the "default". I want another of my accounts to be the "default". I can't find out how to fix this situation. Going into settings on these accounts doesn't seem to help. Basically I want to undefault one account. Help. This is very frustrating as to get into the account that I want I have to write the account name and password in manually every time. I'm so frustrated that I will stop using Firefox if I can't fix it and go back to Safari which I really don't want to do.

I used a third party programme called Mackeeper UGHHH,it moved loads of files to the trash now i do not know where they originally came from or belong!! the put back option is in grey??how can i manually put these files back where they belong?SO upset!!

hello there thank u so much for ur reply!! ok i uninstalled mackeeper now and the put back option is still in grey im so confused...i tried restarting my computer like u said and put back still in grey??!! the files that are in my trash are everything from Accounts,address book plug-ins,address book,adobe,aim.........then stuff like apple,Audio,....to caches color pickers,colors,com.apple.TCC,to DVD player to facebook,google to ilifemedia browser to itunes to keychains to movie effects,preferences printers to skype...my Native instruments files BUT not all of them my garage band but not all of it...it seriously looks like my whole library is in the trash i tried to put things back where i THINK they belong and it just added the item or folder under where i thought it went and didnt restore functionality to for instance google chrome and all my book marks are there....they seem to be only certain things from my library that would have added some functionality to apps and programmes like my garageband is missing stuff photobooth wont work so on.......kinda looks a bit like this thats only the half of it!! You are able to activate an old device and process an insurance claim for your iPhone 4s within 60days from the incident date. How do I recover photos off the iTunes backup from my iPhone so I can put them on my new computer?

My computer hard drive recently crashed and is unrecoverable. Like a dummies we didn't have it backed up. But do I have my photos and files still on my iPhone.
So, bought a new computer with Windows 8 operating system. Went to the iTunes store and they said I just needed to plug in my phone and transfer the photo's over.
First thing I did after downloading iTunes to my new computer was do a backup of my iPhone through iTunes. Then tried to download my pictures to my computer as recommended at the iTunes store. Was only able to get the pictures off the camera roll.
On my old computer I had several folders of photos that I had uploaded to my iPhone and still show up on the iPhone but I can't seem to find them to put them back on my new computer.
Can anyone assist me with this. I hate to purchase an extractor if I don't need one. I only have one chance at this and want to make sure I do it right.

And, they told me a couldn't grab my old music files either but had to reload them all back into iTunes by hand. Bummer.

If you have iCloud and shared Photo Stream turned on, you can go into your each of your albums and do the following:
1.     Tap on Edit
2.     Tap on each photo you want to save back to your computer
3.     Tap on Share
4.     Tap on Photo Stream
5.     Tap on the unnamed Photo Stream folder just created
6.     Type in your iCloud or Apple ID email address
7.     Name the Photo Stream
8.     Tap on Next to create the shared Photo Stream album
9.     Tap on Post
10.   Tap on the new Photo Stream album
11.    Tap on Edit
12.    Tap on the photos to select them
13.    Tap on Share
14.    Tap on Save to Camera Roll
Once they are back in the Camera Roll, you should be able to import them.

No, I can't go that route. I have to stick with my current Java 7.65 ... Our IT department said just to download SE6 Runtime separately ... If I was understanding that correctly. Or, can you have two different versions of Java running ... 6 ... and 7.65?

They will only be where you put them If you are doing the very basics, then they will be on your computer and they will be in your backup copy of your computer.
The itunes store is not global at all, never has been. You cannot redownload your content from another country. You can only use the countrys itunes store for the country that you are physically located.
