I can't get clips from one imovie 4 project to another.

Why can't I have two imovie project open at once? I have an imovie that I want to copy some clips from and when I open another imovie, the original close so I can't drag them in. I also cannot copy a clip and then paste it into another imovie.
According to the imovie help I should be able to have up to 10 imovie projects open at one time. I cannot get two.
Help????

That is the expected behaviour for iMovie 4. In iMovie 6 you can do what you want. (I don't remember if you can do it in iMovie 5.)

I have three projects in my project library A, B and C. While editing B I somehow accidentally copied all my clips from project B into project A, erased all project A footage while the title remained the same. Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, provide /Users/ as the path, drag one account's home folder to the other's desktop, and move the items inside it to the desired locations.

Go to System Preferences>Users & Groups>Click on any account on the left, and just make it an admin.

I am working on a (full color) newspaper - This is my first issue - taking it over from another design company which could be backing up future issues so I'd like to keep my settings exactly as theirs were (I have the last issue InDesign file) so that when they do have to layout the paper again there'll be no confusion. You can probably delete all but the front page, and perhaps one inside spread (depending on how the master pages are set up). I personally would set up a newspaper using a single page master for the front page, and a two page master for a the basic inside pages, possibly some additional masters for alternate column arrangements if there are any in use, and so forth. Masters should have the page headers and other "static" content (you might, for example, have masters for section pages like Metro, Editorial, Sports, and so on so you don't have to set all of that stuff up each time), but that doesn't really mean much. The way I work and the way others do things can vary widely. I worked for a newspaper once that used the same file week after week, dleting the stories and ads that weren't going to run, then adding the new content. In my opinion that's a workflow that always ends in disaster with the edition melting down at deadline, but it's pretty common.
One of the best things you could do for yourself is invest in some training. If you like online training, Lynda.com is probably the the best you'll find for ID. Sandee Cohen's Visual Quickstart book is about the best you'll find for a beginner written text. Real World InDesign by David Blatner et al is the best advanced book I've seen (and I 've looked at a lot of texts -- I taught ID at the college level for a bit).

The video was converted into MP4 and then I could get it into iMovie events. I had right clicked and saved farmes as stills. ABout 50 of them, When I tried to copy and paste those stills into another project I couldn't. They came up blank.
I ended up going to a Genius appointment at my APPLE store this afternoon and was told that those "stills" aren't really anything. Not a .jpg or video, so the program doesn't recognize them. So instead I'm using the Project with the 50 stills and copying other .jpgs and video into it. (This is for a 1961 Class Reunion, so it's old stuff). Seems to work so far.
So bottom line seems to be I can use these stills created from a video in the project in which they were created, but no where else. Do you know a way around this?

Sounds like the source drive is formatted as case sensitive and the destination drive is not. The preferred format for OS X is case insensitive unless there is a compelling reason to go case sensitive.
Why can't you change the filename? Is it because the source drive is having problems? If so is this happening with only one or two or a few files? If so the best thing would be to copy those over individually and then rename them on the destination drive.
If it is more then you can do manually and you can't change the name on the source you will have to reformat the destination as case sensitive.
Btw this group is for discussion of the Support Communities itself, you;d do better posting to Lion group. I'll see if a host will move it.

You can transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
To make the new computer the syncing computer you have to:
- Transfer iTunes purchases lIke I described above
- Make a backup of the iPod on that computer by connecting the iPod and then right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up.
- Restore the iPOd from that backup
She will have to continue to use your iTunes ID to update the apps prchased with your account. To use her account she will have to log into the computer with her account (iTunes>Store) and change the sign in on the iPod by going to Settings>Store.
