How do I set up my iphone to receive emails from my mac computer?

This can be done in the Settings app, -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Add Account.
If you're looking to set up an iCloud e-mail address, however, you would look in Settings -> iCloud.

Can't get emails on iPhone 4

Had to change my email password on my iMac. Now I can't get emails on my iPhone 4. Tried to change the password for email on my iPhone 4. But it's asking to delete my acct????????

Try a reset on the phone. It will not affect data at all. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. See what happens when the phone reboots. Many times when a phone goes from one carrier/country to another, the device has to be reset to be recognized on the home network again. You could also try toggling Airplane mode on and off as well. Turn on Airplane mode, wait about 30 seconds and then turn it back off. See if that helps.

Can't get email to start on new iphone 4s - stuck on the 'Welcome to Mail' screen, when I click on Google and enter my account details, then Next, it tells me 'This Gmail account has already been added to your iPhone.' Similarly for icloud. But that's all it lets me do. Help please

Instead I went to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tapped the Gmail account and found that the Mail button was switched off. Duh.

Originally we were getting the error that the phone could not connect. Then, after deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it again, the error message CHANGED to having to log in to Yahoo and authorize.
When we went to Yahoo in a regular browser and logged in there was an alert telling us about connection attempts so it disabled mobile/iphone connectivity. It required that we change our password FIRST.
Then, we went in to Manage Apps and Webpages and saw that iPhone was not there but Facebook was.
After all of this went back to the phone and deleted then re-added the account again and SUCCESS!
It now also shows up on the Yahoo Manage Apps and Webpages.
Hope this helps someone else. Please consider giving me points if it does or like the post.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

this problem could probably be caused by a Firefox extension.
To make sure that no extension is causing the problems,
start Firefox in Safe Mode by following the instructions in the [[Safe Mode]] article.

Have you contacted your email provider to make sure there are no problems on their end? If they say their email servers are working properly, check the outgoing and incoming mail servers entries on your iPhone to make sure both are entered correctly. Enter the outgoing mail server even if the account setup indicates that is optional.

Can't get email over wifi at home, but can at work.

Okay, I think this is a problem with settings on my time capsule, but I can't figure out what. On my iPhone 5 and wife's iPad I can get email over the cellular network and over wifi at work. I can't get email over wifi at home, get a can't connect to server error. Also had a friend, who uses the same ISP, try with his android phone - same error, but works over wifi at his house. Since I can get email over cellular and wifi at work, I'm fairly confident that I have the server settings correct. Any ideas?

Was facing a similar issue with my friend's iPad (Latest one). Forcing the DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 (I think Google's DNS servers) fixes this issue. I had faced something similar on my iMac a long time back. Something a little strange about how Apple products do a DNS lookup? Not sure if it is an issue with the response time of the DNS servers as well..
In any case, the good news was changing it to 8.8.8.8 worked.. Luckily the iPad's network configuration tool allows you to navigate to the pane where you can see the DHCP supplied IP addresses and just go to the DNS field, delete what was present there and force it to this address.
The difficulty in coming to this conclusion was the fact that the browser works fine for all the sites we had tried. It is mostly the apps that had trouble, and the App store also was inconsistent in reporting details..

I'd recommend restarting your iPhone. If you're still unable to proceed, I would recommend resetting the device.
