I can't get my emails, msg states the connection to server failed! How do,I remedy this?

Who is your mail provider? It could just be a temporary issue. If you use Yahoo their service has been buggy and unreliable at best for the past few months as they 'upgrade'. Might just wait it out.
You could try force quitting the mail app. Double tap the home button. Scroll sideways if needed to get the mail icon on your screen. Flick the mail preview window up and off the screen then single tap the home button to exit the mode. THen try to download your mail again.

Please do the following. 
#Use Internet Explorer to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] 
#When you see the prompt, choose "'''Save'''" and save it to your desktop. 
#Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box''). 
#Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 
#Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier. 
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation. 
After you complete the installation, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those where necessary.

I can't get emails off the server

Ok, I know this has been discussed here before. But, just wondering if there is any NEW info on how to delete emails from the server. Yes, I have gone to advanced email settings and have selected the delete from server when removed from inbox option. But, still those emails are there so that when I check email on my laptop the same emails which I already read on my iPad pop up again. And, I have to delete them again from my laptop in order to remove them from the server. This is very annoying, especially since there is the option to remove emails from the server on the ipad settings, but apparently this option does NOT work.

After you read them on the ipad, are you deleting them?

I get "can't get email-fail to connect to server" msg constantly when I am connected and getting mail . Have to click ok.

I just started getting two messages on my IPad and IPhone I can't get rid if .

this problem could probably be caused by a Firefox extension.
To make sure that no extension is causing the problems,
start Firefox in Safe Mode by following the instructions in the [[Safe Mode]] article.

have been recieving/using work emails and calender via exchange for years but as of this week i have lost access all i keep getting is 'can not get mail, connection to server failed. i have change password but still not working any advise PLEASE..

Hmmm. I've seen that message before, I usually just continue with the account and save it, then power off /on the phone. It usually works after that.
Has anything change with your account?

After upgrading support pack from PI7.1 EHP1 sp1 to sp8,we are experiencing problem with both ESR and ID timeout,
In 2mins the connection to server is terminated and we need to reconnect to it again with password

What parameters value needs to be changed apart from http_timeout increased to 100000 in sxmb_adm,and i did not timeout/keepalive paramter in configtool or NWA
what changes and where to be done

The Memmory and Heap Memmory seems to be ok,I think some parameter related to timeout should be increased

Good afternoon. For over a week I can't get email on MY DASH. Can't see mail in my Gmail Viewer. Get a POP3 error ... can't connect to POP server. Thought it may be a Gmail interface issue so tried to get Hotmail and then Earthlink email in the Chumby email app. Both give same message POP3 Error , can't connect to pop3 server. I have done multiplr hard restarts / power off / "restore to normal operation" procedures. I have searched the discussions and community and can find no mention of POP server issues. Please help .... advise. I'm a disabled, but still working, senior citizen without a fancy, internet, cell phone and my Dash's ability to display my email is very important to me. Can't get email over shared net connection. Please advise.

I have two laptops, a G4 powerbook and an iBook. My G4 is connected to the net via an ethernet cable and I want to share that connection via airport with my wife's iBook.
I have followed the directions for sharing the G4 connection and it works fine. I can use Safari on the iBook to surf the net, but the problem is I can't access the email server specified in Mail on the iBook. It won't connect to the server. The iBook and has a different email account and a different server from the one specified in Mail on my G4.
Is there some option in sharing that I should check besides web sharing? Or is there something else I need to do? Please advise.

In the sharing control panel under the "services" option there is no Internet Sharing. There are a slew of options, one of which is "personal web sharing". According to the help menu I need to turn this on to allow the iBook to access the net through my G4. This works. However, the iBook can't get to its mail server to download emails.

Basically the message is saying the phone can't talk to the place where your email is stored for some reason. This could be an incorrect username/password, or some other issues. Follow the steps in this article and see if they help:

Phone and messages is a carrier issue. Sprint needs to check your account to make sure it is set up correctly. If everything looks good on their end, then do a reset on the phone, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, try it.

Cannot get maile connection to server failed

followed the instructions for icloud set up in apple support for ipad and iphone even deleted the account and then set the account up with the correct ID and password. I do use a different ID than my apple ID for my icloud account. I use my me.com email address. I can get into the cloud on my pc and I can send and recieve email when I log into my icloud account but this fails to work on my ipad and iphone. Attempts to seen or get email on these devices when on a wifi network end up with the message "cannot get mail connection to server failed"
