I can't get Firefox to come up; when I download it again it says can't because Firefox in use.

I used Firefox on Saturday and then closed it (I thought). When I clicked on it yesterday, it wouldn't come up, not even when I went on Applications and clicked on that icon So I tried downloading it again, but when I went to drag the icon into the applications folder, I got a message saying I couldn't because Firefox was in use.

If the purchases are all from the same account then you can share the content by authorizing each device.
If you have separate accounts then you have to be authorized to use the content purchased from another account.

When you get anything that says your network connection timed out it either means you lost internet connection or there is something blocking the connection between the computer and the servers that it is trying to connect to.
If you have a solid internet connection and can browse to websites fine it's either an anti-virus program or a firewall on the computer OR a firewall in the router's settings that you use to connect to the internet.
Reconfigure any security software to allow Apple's servers to pass.
Useful information for configuring your security software:
IMPORTANT: iTunes must be allowed to contact Apple using the following ports and servers:
          ▪          port 80
          ▪          port 443
          ▪          phobos.apple.com, deimos3.apple.com, albert.apple.com, gs.apple.com, itunes.apple.com, ax.itunes.apple.com, ax.init.itunes.apple.com, ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net

I am running Windows 7 64 bit ultimate and have the same problem. My hard drive crashed, installed a new one and then reinstalled CS5 extended. Installation went fine, but can no longer open my camera RAW files from Photoshop (camera is a Canon EOS T2i. The message also tells me I am not eligible for the update. I am... and I cannot open my files and I could before. I can find nowhere to contact Adobe to tell me how to proceed. My daughter is all a registered user of the same product and she had no problems upgrading... we purchased ours each at the same time. I do know the difference is that I had to reinstall and she did not. If that means anything.

Did you ever use his Apple ID on your phone? Perhaps you signed in using his Apple ID and iCloud downloaded his contacts to your phone. Are your contacts still on your phone? Chech and see, under settings what Apple ID your are signed in with.

I have Acrobat 9.0 Standard installed on my laptop and I've followed the guides provided by Adobe and Firefox for using the provided Adobe plugin file with Firefox so that I can view PDF documents in the Firefox browser window, but neither one has worked for me. I have the location of the Nppdf32.dll file (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Browser) and Acrobat is configured to "Display PDF in browser", but whenever I open a pdf on a website, my options are still only to either open it externally with Acrobat or save it. Why can't I get the "save as" option when I download a file, it automatically saves EVERYTHING to download folder.

When I download a file, I used to get an option to "save as", instead of just save. If I download a file I like to immediately download it into the appropriate folder on my desktop (not just one folder.) Instead I have to download it, go into the downloads folder and move it. I do a lot of downloading for work and this is just an extra step that I find so annoying. Is there a way to change this, or and "add on" feature to get "save as" as an option? I get this option on Internet Explorer, but I do not like using IE :(

When I try to change it, I get a message stating that this email ID cannot be used because it is being used as a back up email ID. As I said, I've deleted it as a back up email, but it still won't accept it.

Ok I'm goin to call your old Apple ID #1 your new email you want to use #2 and another email #3.
- go to http://appleid.apple.com
- select manage your apple id
- sign into #2
- edit primary email and change it to #3
- save changes and sign out
Now
- sign into #1
- edit primary
- change it to the email that was used for #2
- save changes
- check #2's email inbox for verification email
- verify account
If done correctly you should be fine, also in terms of #3 that would be an email you have that you dont mind being an apple id that you wont use. Sorry for the funny way of explaining just thought it would be shorter to type out lol.
Note: Once changes have been made you must sign out of features such as iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, iTunes & App Store as they will still display the old Apple ID. Sign in with new email but same password as normal.
