I can't get Icloud control panel to install on this computer

I have no problem with Icloud on my desktop pc but I can't get it to install it on my laptop pc.

I downloaded the installer and it just doesn't work. It stops after I run the program and doesn't even show as if it is running after I hit run when it gets to that step. No next step. No bar showing progress. Nothing except when I go to try to run it again, it says that you can't run it while it is already running. It doens't show up as runniing in the task manager either.

I've installed, uninstalled, repaired, etc. the iCloud control panel on my Windows Vista Business PC a dozen times. It always does the same thing -- installs fine, launches fine, but when I enter my Apple ID and password, the thing sits and spins indefinitely like it's trying to connect but never does. Do you have OS X and OS 9 installed on your Mac? If so, startup with the Option key depressed. This will open the Startup Manager window. Select the OS you want to start from & click the right arrow.

Yes, that's possible. Simply don't activate the option for storage and backup or PhotoStream. Just activate the calendar option if that's all you want to use.

i have been posting this a few places maybe it will get around. I have found becuse of my full enclosed iphone case i can not get my figure low enough to get the control panal to work. maybe apple can move up the control panal access to get it to work better for thos who have full cases.

I've just successfully installed the iCloud Control Panel on my PC (runs with Vista). Why does the iCloud Control Panel say "Install Outlook to use Mail, Contacts, and Calendars?" The Bookmarks (with Safari) and Photo Stream options are active, but the Mail (with Outlook), Contacts (with Outlook),and Calendars and Tasks (with Outlook) are not. I'm using Office Outlook 2007. I used to be able to synch my iPhone with my PC's Outlook through iTunes without any problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't open iCloud Control Panel on PC

I have the iCloud Control Panel v3.1 installed on my Windows 7 64-bit system. It was working fine using Internet Explorer. I switched to Foxfire and when I attempt to activate the app I get the message "JavaScript is required. To use iCloud enable JavaScript in your browser and try again ... (popup at bottom of page states "Would you like to make Internet Explorer your default browser?")
When I look in the Foxfire Add-ins, there is only a Java Deployment Toolkit that is blocked because the plugin is noted to have security vulnerabilities.
I give up ... can anyone help guide me on this issue. I would really like to be able to access iCloud without having to use a bookmark each time. Windows Programs does not show any version of Java as having been installed.

Solved. Uninstall iCloud Control Panel from Windows 8 machine (use Control Panel). Restart, reinstall iControl 2.0.

Hi Krazy,
OK, a couple of things:
1. You do have the iCloud icon in your settings on your iPad, right?
2. You do have Photo Stream turned on on your iPad in the iCloud setting, right?
3. You do have an iPhone that has an iCloud icon in your settings that has Photo Stream turned on, right?
So, the only place left that you would see an iCloud icon would be on your Mac in the System Preferences, and you would want to have Photo Stream turned on there as well.
Can you let me know if any of the statements I have listed above are not true, or you do not have? Seems like you may have been given some misinformation about iCloud, Photo Stream, and how to set it all up.....
As far as other pictures go (those not in the photo stream - which is a temporary holding place that shares the photos among all your devices without having to do a sync), if you have pictures that you have uploaded to your computer from your iPhone or camera, etc. they are housed in iPhoto (if you are on a Mac). In order to get these pictures to display on your iPad, you need to sync your iPad to that Mac via iTunes.
Is any of this making any sense?

Why aren't my photos from my photostream automatically to my WIN 7 system on my laptop. icloud control panel is installed.

I have an iphone 5 and my photos from my photstream aren't automatically transferring to my laptop-which is a WIN 7 OS. icloud control panel installed on laptop.

I don't know what operating system you are using on your PC, but it works fine with windows 7. Try this, click the start button and key in icloud [In search program and files ], you should come to your Icloud folder , where you see mail with outlook, contacts with outlook, calendar & tasks with outlook , bookmarks with Internet explorer, photo stream, if you have clicked yes on the box in front of all the above said (in our case Photo stream) your photos will be automatically uploaded and downloaded. The pictures if stored in the photos folder gets uploaded from :
C:\Users\xxxxx(your computer name)\pictures\Photo Stream\Uploads. YOU can see this if you click on the options button on the icloud next to photo steam as mentioned above.
