I can't get iCloud to verify on IOS5 iPhone 4

I have converted my MobileMe account to iCloud. My email works perfectly on my iMac, iPhone and iPad.
Previously I had a family account and my wife had a separate email address which worked on her iPhone. Now this will not work on her phone. Whilst I can log into this account via iCloud on the web (so have the correct password), when I try to add it to her iPhone (which has IOS5) a pop-up box appears which says," iCloud User name or password is incorrect". It will not allow me to click ok on the screen and I then have to push the home button and force quit settings to try again.
Both phones were historically sync'ed with the same iMac and iTunes
Please help!!

I have exactly the same problem with my iPodTouch 4th gen and my wifes iPhone 3GS. When you login to icloud on the settings page it says the password is incorrect then the device locks up. It's fine on my iPad and both our Mac laptops.

Cannot get iCloud to work on upgraded iPhone

This week I upgraded my iPad (iPad 2), & iPhone (iPhone 4) to IOS7.
I did the iPad2 first. There were no problems with the upgrade to IOS7. After upgrading, I logged into iCloud on my iPad using the correct ID and gave correct password. There were no problems. I was able to wanted to turn on "Find my iPad" without any problem.
I upgraded the iPhone4 next. There were no problems with the upgrade to IOS7. After upgrading, I logged into iCloud, again using the correct ID and correct password. I immediately received this error message:
"Photo Stream - Photos for the iCloud account "iCloud" cannot be accessed. Review your account information in Settings".
You are given the choice of "Ignore" and "Settings". I pressed the "Settings" button and arrived at the main settings screen, with no other information. However, the iCloud setting is greyed out (disabled). I cannot access any iCloud settings. Likewise, in the "Photos & Camera" setting, the icons for "My Photo Stream" and "Photo Sharing" are greyed out (disabled).
Nothing I do will allow me to access iCloud settings.
I tried turning off the iPhone (resetting it). Once I turn it on again, I go to settings/iCloud. Tapping this brings up the iCloud login. I enter the correct password (for the correct ID), and immediately get the above "Photo Stream..." error.
I have tried this 4 times now. I can say with some confidence that resetting the phone does NOT fix the problem.
SO - what is going on, and how can I get iCloud to work on my iPhone?

If your iCloud setting is greyed out, go to Settings>General>Restrictions>Accounts (near the bottom) and set this to Allow Changes.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. No Mail. I can not get or send mail from my iPhone,iCloud, or mail on the desktop. Password is correct i can get into iCloud but not able to get mail.

Spent at least 40 min talking to apple support, to sort it out. luckly not at my cost. After trying lots of things and speaking to a higher grade support person I was given a temp password which did the trick. I then was able to reset that with my own password.
The impression i got was no one knowns what the problem is and resetting the password at the apple end works. Not sure if you would be able to self fix.

Can't get iCloud to work on my Mac

I am trying to get iCloud on my Mac and iPhone so I can sync documents, photos, etc. But I can't seem to get iCloud on my Mac to work. Example: there's no option to save in iCloud on Pages. I have OS 10.7.5, and Pages 4.3; my wife has OS 10.8.5 and Pages 4.3, but she CAN save things to iCloud. Any ideas?

For sharing documents and sharing photos via My Photo Stream with your Mac you'll need 10.7.5 at a minimum which you apparently have. So you should be able to do the same as your wife.

Have you tried logging out of iCloud and then back in in the System preferences? However, your best bet would be to do as Csound1 suggested, upgrade to 10.8.5, so you have parity with your wife's Mac.

If you connect your iPhone to a computer running Linux (Ubuntu version in my case) it will become recognized as a normal USB memory pen-drive.
From there, you can use many methods to recover your lost deleted files.
TestDrive allows you to search the drive (iPhone memo) and gives you the possibility to recover deleted files. I'm not an expert, nor did it with iDevice by myself. But it worked for me with Symbian phone (Nokia)...
