I can't get LabVIEW 6.1 to install properly on a computer running XP.

I have installed LavVIEW 6.1 on a Dell machine running XP Pro twice, and each time the install has croaked with the License Manager software killing the machine. The lmgrd.exe task is not communicating properly with the nilm.exe task, which it continually spawns until all the resources are consumed on the PC, rendering it useless. I understand that the lmgrd.exe task uses the TCP/IP layer protocols to communicate with the nilm.exe task. The only things installed on this "fresh" machine besides XP are Office XP, Norton AV (turned off during install), and Roxio Easy CD creator.

The answer to this question is not perfect; however the solution does work. Windows XP by default will execute the license manager within the startup group. This is easily seen after the installation is complete and the computer is rebooted for the current installation to be taken into effect. In some cases Labview will require the license manager to be present depending on the application; but if it isn't then it does not need to be activated. Therefore, de-install Labview and re-install it; however, this time before allowing the software to reboot the machine when it is completed, click on NO and go directly to the Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services->NILM License Manager; right-click and select Properties. Go to the Field->Startup Type
and choose MANUAL. At this point reboot your computer for the completion of the installation.
At a later date, if the license manager is required, then to allow a TCP/IP connection would mean that you would need to disable Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) feature which is also enabled by default when XP is installed. To disable this, go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Network Connection and select the network connection you have configured. Right-click and select Properties. Go to the Advanced Tab and de-select the ICF feature. Note that your computer will be susceptible to intruders at this point, so take caution!

Ok, I'm about fed up. I'm trying to get itunes installed along with quicktime, and everytime it goes through the installation & says everything is ok, but then when I try to run Itunes, it comes up an error. So anyway, I did a search for solutions in the database & I feel like I've tried all of them...at least all I could find. One said to go to a local settings folder & delete the temp folder, then reinstall. Did that...same thing. So then I saw something where you had to type a dll command in the run line, but that didn't work either. I also installed a microsoft visual basic file that was suggested might help, but it didn't. Actually, downloading that file helped me to get past the install probs, but now I can't pull the program up without an error. Please help! I really would like to put some music on my ipod. Incidentally, I recently reformatted my hd, and that's when the trouble began. I know, you're going to say just reformat, but right now is a very inconvenient time. I need a workable solution. I would greatly appreciate anyone's help. Thanks in advance.
p.s. already tried reinstalling, even hunting down residual files & registry entries with an uninstaller program to get a clean install...didn't work though.

Do you see iTunes.exe running in Task Manager > Processes?

Try to perform a HARD RESET on the printer first. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and leave it out for 30 seconds. Plug it back in, see if it aligns and finishes the job.
After alignment, try to print a test page from the printer or make a copy. This job is to make sure that the HARDWARE of the printer is working correctly.

I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode. Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed. I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides.

Assuming that you synced the photos from iTunes - or whatever downloaded means - you must use iTunes again in order to remove the songs from the iPad. You have to uncheck the albums in the photos folder that you sync from in the Photos tab of iTunes and follow that with a sync.

I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks). Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window. I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box. When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window. It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

You need to install it - just downloading does not necessarily install it. If you double click it, does it open an installer window? Or, can you simply drag it into your Applications folder (if it is not showing in Launchpad)?
FWIW, your downloads folder is just a temporary "holding" place for your downloads - once you have installed applications or moved other files where they belong, you can empty that folder.
PS - If this is what you downloaded, it is a disk image (.dmg) which means you need to double click it; you then need to move the icon and install it.
Out of curiosity: is it working well? I'm curious because it is rather dated software.
