I can't get MIDI to work! Help!

I am trying to set up midi on my iMac so i can use Sibelius first (7). I have a Yamaha keyboard dgx-520 keyboard but no cd with it. I am getting nowhere! Think it might be a driver problem but have no idea. Can anybody help!?!?

Can't get MIDI In working!

I'm a Logic newbie. I searched for "MIDI In" but the search engine finds all occurrences of MIDI so I apologize if this has been asked.
I can't solve a problem interfacing my Kurzweil K2600 through a M-Audio Midiman 2x2 into Logic 9.1.1. I was thinking it was a problem with the Midiman interface but I returned the one that I thought was faulty but the replacement didn't solve it!
Apple Audio MIDI Setup correctly sees the interface. I have Added the Kurzweil as a device and connected the cables to the correct Port with the correct MIDI Transmit and Receive channels. But I still don't get the MIDI data activity light on the interface flashing. Keyboard is set to MIDI.
I tested the MIDI out of the Kurzweil with the same cable with an ancient Opcode Studio 3 and its MIDI activity lights flash when I press keys so I don't think it could be the Kurzweil or the cable!
I guess my question is: Is there something I have to do in Logic to get the midisport interface to receive MIDI In from my Kurzweil?

MIDI out of the kurzweil is connected to MIDI in of the midisport interface - MIDI into the kurzweil is connected to MIDI out of the midisport interface.
Yes I've tried to play virtual instruments in Logic and there is no MIDI In activity in the Logic transport window.
Thing is, the Test Setup function of the Audio MIDI Setup application fails to show MIDI input from the Kurzweil to the MIDI interface. So I guess this problem precedes Logic! This is my first time out using the Audio MIDI Setup application so I suppose I may have missed something there.
Here is an overview of what I did in Audio MIDI Setup:
I open up the Audio MIDI Setup application and the midisport interface is automatically displayed. I click on Add Device to add the Kurzweil. I notice that there is a selection list pulldown for Manufacturer and Model but there are no items in those lists to select from (is this normal?). So I manually enter the stuff. I leave all the Transmit and Receive channels selected since I'm just going to get this one device (the Kurzweil) running. Then I connect the virtual wires from the Kurzweil device icon to the midisport device icon and click Test Setup. Clicking the down arrow on the midisport device icon DOES make the activity light on the actual midisport interface flash. However, keypresses on the Kurzweil do not make the up arrow highlight on the midisport device icon. Does that sound like I've missed anything?
Since I'm a Logic newbie may I assume that until I get this problem with the MIDI In solved, I might as well forget about Logic for the moment? Is there any reason why Logic has to be running to do this Audio MIDI Setup and test it? Is there any reason I would have to have Logic running to get the MIDI Ins of the midisport interface from working?
Man, this is a pain. I wish Apple made a damned MIDI interface for Logic!!!!

Can't get titles to work-Help!!!!!

I am using iMovie 5.0.2 and Im having trouble with my titles.
When I try to insert my titles to my timeline it will not load as it was expected to.
If I create the title in the text space provided (ie: My Titles) and then preview it, it works fine in the main viewer window - but when I "Grab" the "T" in the title window and drag it to the timeline, it appears very briefly (about 0.1 of a second) and then disappears !
The same thing is happening with my transitions - I tried to use the slow frame FX and the clip accepts it for an instant, then the clip reverts back to it's normal speed again!
Can anyone help please?

I've got over 100Gb still available on the hard drive, and it's formatted as Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) . . . . thanks for that reminder, always good to check!
I'm holding the "T" until it gets onto the timeline, then letting it go! - But as I mentioned, it doesn't even stay there . . . . it simply does not want to sit on the timeline at all!
I don't get a chance to see the red bar at the bottom!
Looks to me like a bug or something . . . . I was looking for the cache files in the package contents/info of iMovie, so I could import the clips from my previous movie, . . . . . guess what . . . . the cache file with the .dv clips isn't there!
I may try re-installing iMovie . . . . is it on the DVD which came with my iMac G5 ?

I STILL can't get Bridge to work, Help

I have had Photoshop CS2 installed and activated for months. However, I have never gotten Bridge to work.
I get the apparently common, "Adobe Bridge cannot be used at this time because of licensing restrictions. You must have installed and launched at least one other Adobe application to use Adobe Bridge." I have consulted TechNote 331871, and have tried its suggestions. Solution 1, Photoshop CS2 IS activated. Solution 2, everything IS in its default location. Solution 3, removing and reinstalling Bridge doesn't help. Solution 5, I have removed and reinstalled Photoshop CS2 twice. (I have not removed the activation)
Which leaves Solution 4. Whenever I try to rerun the Common File Installer, I get "Setup has detected that a newer version of this product is already installed. Setup will now terminate.", and it does.
I have had uninstalled Adobe Premiere Elements 4, thinking that might be the problem. I also have Elements 3.0 and 6.0 installed. I have tried uninstalling 6.0 to no avail.
Anyone have any idea what may be going on, and what I might do next?

Can't get game to work HELP

I down loaded SAT Prep Mathematics 2008 last night and sync it all onto my I pod that night to play but when i clicked on it to play, it came up with "this game cannot be played" and something about, connect your ipod back to itunes and reinstall the game. So i did but it still kept coming up with the same Error screen, and so i went on to this website and looked through all the Q and A about ipod games and tried everything and nothing worked.

G5 Tower, replaced hard drive and now can not get it to work- HELP

My G5 (tower) crashed hard & after a trip to the Genius Bar at my local Mac Store I found out the hard drive was dieing.
The Mac person fixed some problem files & told that I could replace the hard drive. I bought a 350 GB SATA 3.5in hard drive and placed it in the second slot in the tower. I then used time machine & backed up the hard drive to the second slot (after I backed up on an external hard drive- just to be safe).
I removed the hard drives & placed the new one in the A slot. When I turned on the computer I had the ? folder. I turned off & restarted holding the option key and got two folders, one with a turn back arrow & a rt facing arrow. Clicked either did nothing. Does any1 know what I am doing wrong?? If so please let me know. Much appreciated.

Did you reset your PRAM?
command-option- p-r
Hold down all four keys as the mac starts up and wait for the chimes to ring twice. Then let the machine start up as usual.
If it works be sure to check your date and time settings (the system will tell you)
You can also start up from your system disk holding down the c key as it starts-- go past the language screen and open disk utilities from the menu bar run disk repair and then repair permissions. Set your startup disk to your new drive.
Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Can't get audio to work on my Panasonic Plasma smart TV when I connect a Toslink optical mini to Toslink optical digital to my mid 2009 MacBook pro?

My MAc book pro 5.5 is mid 2009, Processor speed 2.26 GHZ MacOS X VERSION 10.68 Leopard. My Tv is a Panasonic Plasma smart TV TC-P50ST60. I ordered from Amazon a Toslink optical mini to Toslink optical digital cable meant for Macbook pro 2009 forward. I changed the settings on both TV and Mac but I still can't get audio to work on TV. I believe my Mac can't see the audio output from the TV. Any advice with step by step instructions on how to fix it? could it be they sent me defective cables? Thank You for your help.

When I spoke with Apple I made sure I told them that my Macbook Pro was Mid 2009 and he ensured me again that those to cords will work. I realize that with the newer models it does put through both sound and audio but because of my model I don't think it does obviously because I have played with both Sound on my computer and Sound on the TV and nothing works. Sometime Apple can be good but man some people lol he even told me he verified my computer model on the computer and that's what came up.
So new question would be what kind of cable would I be looking for to get audio? Anyone before I call back to Apple and see what they say hahah

If not, what happens if you remove the Apple ID on the iPad and then set it in Airplane Mode (allow a couple of minutes at this point) followed by re-adding the Apple ID ?
What, if any error messages are appearing on the Mac when you try to launch the App or Login to the iMessages server ?
Is the Apple ID linked to an iCloud account ?
In Messages 7 (Mountain Lion) this did not seem to be important but it seems it is in Mavericks/Messages 8

I've checked your account. I see that you just purchased the subscription this morning. The order is still pending processing, which is why you haven't yet been able to log in an use your subscription. It can take 24-48 hours for a subscription to process fully. Do you have a URL where I can take a look at the issue? It may be a configuration issue or it may be a bug so I just want to check and make sure.
In terms of the radio buttons one, I just published up update to the Forms+ Widget this morning that includes a new way to do grouping for radio buttons. Creative Cloud should download the updated version of the .mulib file into your downloads folder (and it should now be called something like FormsPlus Bundle.mulib), and you can double click that to add the updated widgets to your Muse library. The one I'm referring to in particular is called the "Radio Group (Box Selection)" widget. Basically, when you drag the widget out onto the page, it shows a dotted line box and you simply drag and resize the box around the radio items you'd like to group together. The box itself won't be exported so you don't have to worry about that, but it will allow you to visually group them instead of doing so with labels.
Let me know if you have any trouble getting the new update or using the box selection widget and I'd be happy to help further.

Help!! Can't get BeforeReport to work

I am in desperate need of help - I have tried opening an SR and I was told using parameters was a customization and I needed to hire a consultant. I also tried to email my instructor from my XML Publisher class but she told me to check the user's guide....which I have done and to no avail. In fact, I have copied exactly based on the sample data template from the users guide to what I have and I still get an "Invalid Relational Operator".
I have to get this report published but can't get it to work - I will be happy to email or post my template and package body but need anyone's help who is willing to give it. I am sorry to sound so desperate but I am!!!

Yes, if you purchased it in an Apple store, they should be able to assist you. Bring your MBP with you as well as the Drive.

T500: Can't get WLAN to work!! HELP

Hey all, new to the Lenovo community so sorry if I sound like a noob.
I just bought a Thinkpad T500- 2056 CTO (Vista Business) from a colleague of mine. I searched the internet for the specs of this notebook and saw that it was equipped with an integrated WLAN card but I can't get it to work. I checked the Network Adapters in the Device Manager but there was only an Ethernet Gigabit driver. I tried downloading the only 2 different drivers that Lenovo's Support and Downloads has but that didn't work. Can anyone help me out? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Port Forwarding.....or Port Mapping....as Apple calls it is a difficult and complex configuration method for most users. Because there are so many variables involved in this type of setup, it is not possible to provide a step by step guide that will work for everyone with all devices.
It is possible that a setup guide exists for the the WD drive and AirPort Extreme, but you will have to go looking for it on the Internet. Even if you find one, it may not be tailored to your specific situation or needs.
Sometimes, you can do everything right....at least according to someone's article or "how to" guide, and things still will not work correctly.
In situations like this, when you really don't know what to do, you need to enlist the aid of an IT pro, who will know what to do based on your particular products and unique circumstances. Sometimes....they won't be able to get things working either due to particular circumstances.
But, before you do this, I would strongly recommend that you use a Static IP address for your Internet connection with your ISP. If you do not have this now, contact them to ask them if they offer this type of connection. Expect to pay more for this type of service, of course.
