I can't get my filters to render

I am running Final Cut Pro 7 and I have a clip that already has RGB Balance filter and Key filter on it. I am adding Brightness Contrast or any of the other Gamma Correction type filters to the clip, It lets me adjust the filter but when I render it this filter is not included in the render. I have done some experimenting and it seems that the RGB balance is what is stopping this filter from being applied.
I have tried with all the possible filters that will let me adjust the levels on the image, I have tried taking the clip with the first two filters and nesting it then applying the new filter to the nested clip but nothing seems to work.
This clip is too dark, can anyone help me figure

When Final Cut Pro begins to act in unexpected ways, the usual first step is to trash the FCP preferences.
You can download Preference Manager (free) from Digital Rebellion and it will do all the work for you:
http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
Once you have trashed your preferences, they will be restored to default the next time FCP launches.
Also, what is the "Key" you have applied?

  • I can't get dxtory files to render.

I record gameplays for youtube, and I recently switched from fraps to dxtory as the audio quality in dxtory is a lot better. However I can render fraps files just fine, but when I render dxtory files I get error messages and a pop up that says close program. I have no idea what's wrong with it. I'm using adobe premiere pro cs6. It does the exact same thing if I try to render in sony vegas. The only program I can get to finsish rendering is windows movie maker, which I don't want to edit with. Please let me know what other info I need to supply to try and fix the problem, thanks in advance for your replies.

That would indicate that the problem is with your Dxtory settings, not Premiere Pro

  • Can't get Optical Flow to render

I've read a couple of posts about other people having this problem, but they don't seem to apply as I can't find a workaround.  I'm running FC 10.0.8.
If I render my timeline (about 15 minutes), the entire timeline renders, except for about five seconds that are in slow motion.  The orange bar remains above that section even after the entire timeline is rendered.
After reading the other posts, I know the following might be relevant:  I'm editing optimized AVCHD footage.  There is no speed ramp.  It's just a clip at slowed to 50%.  The clip is completely separate (it's not just a selected range--in another post, somebody said just selecting a range was their problem).
I also tried creating a new project, bringing in a short clip (and nothing else), slowing it to 25%, and rendering all.  The percentage display counted up to 100% like the clip was being rendered, but, at the end, the timeline still showed orange above the retimed clip.
I should say that I don't know if the clips are actually rendered properly in Optical Flow.  I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference.  All I know is that the timeline is still showing orange above them, so I'm presuming they aren't.

    Russ--
Funny thing.  I decided to test this by taking the same very brief clip and putting it into a timeline three times in a row.  Then I made each slow motion 25%.  Then I left the first normal, made the second frame blending, and the third optical flow.  Then I exported the master file.
I guess I can see a difference, but the optical flow section actually looks kind of blurry to me.
Then I went back to the timeline and chose Modify> Render All.  And FCX rendered the entire timeline, with no orange above any portion (not even the Optical Flow portion).
So I don't know what to think now.  I don't know what the problem was, or if optical flow is any better than normal or frame blending.  Maybe I need to try it with some different footage?

  • Can't get mpeg-2 to render with 2 macs

I've got a G5 quad and a MacBook. Trying to get them be nice. I've spent hours. Done distributed rendering in LightWave & After Effects a million times. This software is the most bizarre I've ever seen.
The manual tells you what is possible but doesn't actually tell you how to do anything.
I want to render a movie in FCP into mpeg-2 which I've done using compressor many times. Thought it would be nice if the MacBook would help.
Please tell me in simple steps how to do it. BTW MacBook is only 10.4.11. Is that the problem?

What version of Final Cut Studio are you running?

  • Where can I get more filters, transitions and special effects for FC?

I thought I heard that there is a third party company that has transitions and cool effects and filters I could use with final cut express. Does anyone know who they are, and if they are creditable?
    THANKS!

Oh no I don't have a problem with free and I don't think expensive things means it's better. It's just easier to install a couple discs of software then to go through a bunch of sites and sift through all the free ones. I used to use iMovie and GeeThree made it easy with all their discs. That's why I am looking for software. Plus if anything ever happens to my computer it wouldn't take any time at all to reinstall the CD then to go through and find everything again. Thank you again for your suggestions.

  • Can't get GTX 970 to render - it's still using the CPU

    Hello guys.
I'm using trial of Premiere Pro CC 2014 on Windows 8.1 x64.
Decided to try out my new machine - i5-4690K, EVGA GTX 970 FTW, 16GB DDR3 2400 Mhz, Samsung 850 Pro.
So I have this test video 1080p 60FPS 1min 2s short which I'm exporting to H.264 same as source but lower bitrate.
With the software renderer it takes 3min20s.
I wanted to try out my GTX 970, so I ran the GPUSniffer and added "GeForce GTX 970" into my "cuda_supported_cards.txt". Restarted the machine, made new Project, selected GPU rendering in the Project Settings and gave it a go.
It took exactly 3min20s as before and checking in CPUID HWMonitor GPU usage was 0 and CPU was running full speed. So certainly not GPU Accelerated.
I'm using latest drivers, which is 350.12.
Any ideas what should I do now?
Thank you very much for your time.

Where does the video card fit in?
The video card and hardware MPE is not the holy grail. It helps in some circumstances to improve performance and rather significantly, but in other instances it does not help at all, as is indicated in the link above. People often think that installing a super fast video card will reduce export times by a significant amount of time. That is not true. It only helps in a limited number of situations. Keep in mind that:
Encoding to an export format is done by the CPU, not the GPU. No performance gain from a video card.
Frame rate changes, frame blending is done by a suitable video card, for instance exporting to 24P from 29.97i or 60P. Here there is a clear performance gain.
Scaling is also helped by hardware MPE, for instance going from 4K to HD or from HD to SD. Again a clear performance gain.
Rendering for preview is helped by the video card only for accelerated effects.
If any of the last three points are a major part of your workflow, then a good video card will speed up these parts of the editing by up to 15 times on average over software MPE.

  • How can I get my footer to render properly in IE 6&7?

I've been successful in overcoming several other problems that appear in IE 6&7, but I have a footer div that contains two elements to create left and right content.  In every browser these appear as they should, but in IE 6&7 the left element drifts into the center.  I'm sure it's something simple, but I haven't found a solution

I don't have time to fix all the problems on that page.   So let's just focus on the Footer code.
Copy and paste this into a new, blank html document.  I took out the height, APDivs and replaced them with Floats. Tested and works in IE6,7,8, latest FF 3.6.7 and Chrome with increased and decreased text sizes.

    Hi,
To disable browser caching for a web page, try adding the following code to the Head tag of the page:
    To add the same:
    1) Open the page with Muse
    2) From the Page menu, select Page Properties
    3) In the Metadata tab, type in the code in the "HTML for <head>" field

  • How do I get php files to render in Live View

I'm using CS4 and have just found that I can't get php pages to render in live view.  I have no problems with html pages. Help

    Hi,
his thread could solve your problem: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2610272 "DW CS4 - Design/Live view not available with PHP" where David Powers (nr. 5) answered in this way:
Have you changed your preferences to open PHP pages in Code view?
In the File Types/Editors category of Preferences, if you add .php to the list of file name extensions in "Open in code view", it disables Design view and Live View for that type of file.

  • I can't get sketch and toon to render

    Hello,
I am using c4d r15 and AE 12.2.  I have seen the aticle below and have done everything that it says.  I have changed my render and executable paths and still can't get my sketch and toon to render.  Am I doing something wrong? Below are my settings.  And what I want my AE scene to look like.  THis is a render from C4D R15.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    Can you confirm the following:
    1.        that you have a fully licensed version of Cinema 4D R14/R15 installed?
    2.       Verify that the Cinema R14/R15 application itself is rendering the saved .c4d project file correctly by some known scene file that uses, for instance, Depth of Field blur via the Physical renderer
    3.       That you are restarting After Effects after changing the settings. After a restart of AE, also do Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache.
    Thanks,

  • Can't get Nik or Topaz to show in filters

On my Mac, I had to reinstall Photoshop  elements 9. My filters no longer appear in the filter menu. I also tried the trial version of Photoshop elements 11 and the filters do not appear there either. • How can I get Disco Viewer to remember the user's final filtered worksheet?

    Hi every one:
How can I get Disco Viewer to remember the user's final filtered worksheet?
Each time the users login they have to make several operations (drillings, pivots, etc) to get their reports customized as they want. I wonder if is there a chance I could configure Disco Viewer in order to remember the last worksheet layout, and set it as the initial worksheet the next time the user login?
    Thanks in Advance
    Jorge

Once your users have customised the report to their requirements, they can add the URL of final data diaplay screen to their favourites menu in the browser.
Next time they want to run the same report, they can access the URL saved into favourites, they'll just need to enter their password to run the report when prompted.
I know that this works with Oracle Applications user id's, and that the URL "remembers" User Name, Oracle Apps Responsibility, Workbook Name, and Paramteters Used, Table Layout Customisations, and Page Item selections... so in theory it should record Drill information too.
