I can't get my iCloud mail To Work

I've tried every ID and password I can think of and I still can't get my Apple Mail to send/receive emails from my iCloud Account?
What do I need to do to just get it setup correctly.  I've tried following the tutorials but haven't had any success.
Any ideas?
(Also, when I try to Setup Mail With system prefs->icloud it tells me Mail can't be enabled at this time try again.
iCloud on my Mac and my iPhone is so frustrating...  There are also too many user ids...  very confusing!

You should only have one ID for iCloud, and perhaps one for the iTunes Store, depending on how you set it up.
To setup iCloud email you need to login with your iCloud @me.com email address and iCloud password.

Could I prevail upon you to come up with a better thread title?  I resisted my first inclination to move the thread to "Dustbin"; but I will say the title does little to inspire us to help.   You may wan to read the article linked in my signature.
    Thanks.
I'll change it now. I just realized it sounds rough, but I was mad because I couldn't get it work, it isn't anyone's fault, sorry
EDIT: I got it to work at an usable state! By using the 8192cu driver on the AUR and the suggestions in the comments about disabling power-save, I got it to be usable. It now has up to 8% packet loss, not 30-40% like before, and the ping spikes are now 300-400 ms and less frequent, not 1000-1200ms. It's not working really well but now I can at least surf the web. Thank you all for the patience.
EDIT 2: after testing more I realized it still disconnects every few seconds when I'm far from the AP. However, when connected, I still have very strong signal. If I use it on windows or another distro it doesn't disconnect. I tried compiling the driver from realtek by myself using the istructions in the second post but I don't know how to fix some compile errors, so I decided I'll stick with my usb dongle. Maybe someone will find a better solution.

I can not get my regular mail to work since i moved to iCloud. What do I need to do to update?

Go to Settings>Wi-Fi.  At the bottom, make sure the "Ask to Join Networks" is ON.  When you are out and about, any network the iPad sees will be shown and it will ask you if you want to "Join" it.  If it is unsecure/free you tell it yes and you should connect.  However, if there is a little padlock looking icon shown with the network name, it means that it is a secure network and you need a password to join.  If you don't know it, you can't join.  At most Starbucks and such, the Wi-Fi is free and you should be able to simply connect.  Not really that hard.  There are not security settings on your iPad to adjust.  You'll figure it out.
    Best.

Hiya... I can't get my iCloud mail account to activate on MacMini running OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Be sure the mini is connected to icloud (system preference>icloud) and that you also have mail turned on.  Then be sure the mail program has the icloud account defined in it's preferences.

  • Still can't get to iCloud mail since 9/11 11amCST.  Help?

Can some one please give a realistic ETA and timezone when iCloud mail will be back up??
    <Edited By Host>

Only Apple can do that and they may not even know.

It's a really bad idea to post your email addresses - it's an invitation to spam - and I've asked the Hosts to remove them.

  • How can I get my iCloud email to work?

For this entire day, my iCloud email (me.com)has not been working.  I can send but there is no incoming mail.  My other email (cox.net) seems to be working, both incoming and outgoing.  Earlier i the day I was asked to input my password each time but now that seems to be ok, it is just that I can get no incoming mail on the me.com account.  How do I fix this?
It is working on the iPad....only my iMac cannot receive email to my icloud account.

Perfect!  Here's someone else who did it with Lion.  Is this the same thing that you are telling me?  There are a bunch of people having this problem.  Sure glad you are around with the solution.
    SOLUTION OFFERED;
The same thing happened to me. Last night, everything was fine with Mail 5.2 with Lion. This morning when my iMac booted up, the incoming mail server for my iCloud account was grayed out and said www.example.com. It would not allow me to manually the incoming mail server.
I contacted Apple tech support through the apple website, and a rep immediately called me. He instructed me to:
    1) Quit Mail
    2) Go to System Preferences > Mail and deselect (uncheck) Mail
    3) Reboot the computer
I just got home and tried it, and worked great.
Once I rebooted my iMac, the incoming mail server was populated correctly. I then went to
System Preferences > Mail and selected (checked) Mail
My iCloud mail now is current in Mail.

  • How can I get my e-mail addresses working

I synchronize my Touch with outlook 2003. The imported e-mail adresses are mainly unusable. Outlook displays the addresses by the name of the contact instead of the complete address. The touch imports the displayed name and not the e-mailaddress. This means that I can't send mails from the Touch using my imported address book. Who recognizes the problem and who knows how to solve it?

    BasHIDAP -
I too sync with Outlook 2003 as well. I am confused on your comment about not being able to send messages from your iPhone. Quick question – I am going to assume that you are working Exchange as well.
Though you may not able to view e-mail details when using the Contact list. When compose a message and start typing a name in the ‘To’ filed the phone starts to filter names and at that point you can see the full e-mail address.
As I mentioned above I seem to have no problems send and receiving messages on my iPhone. If this is not the case can you provide additional information as to what happens when you try to send mail?
    Respectfully –
    BH

I have spend hours with trying to get my MobileMe (www.me.com) mail account to work correctly based on IMAP protocol on my Nokia 5800. I have the correct settings, I have tried both with and without SSL, and I do have other mail accounts  working (synchronising properly with IMAP on the 5800). I do use and access the same email account on other devices and PCs and have no similar problem. Consequently I am confused. how to get the issue resolved and would appreciate your help if you have eventually experienced this symptom and did come across it.

  • TS4002 I had 2 iCould Accounts - one on MacBook Pro and one on iPad - long story.  I changed the one on my iPad to sync with laptop.  Now I can not get my iCloud mail on my iPad since it only want to set up a new one, not my existing one.  How do I fix it

    Hi:
I had two iCloud account - one on my iPad set up with Me.com.  Its a long story as to why I had two account which I will not the issue.  I changed my iPad account to link up with my MacBook Pro account - which is my primary account.  After doing this all seemed OK except I could not get y primary iClould email account set.  When I tried to add my primary iClound email account it only allows you to add a NEW iClould account which is not what I want.
How do I correct this issue?  Thanks.

Thanks Winston but your solution did not work.  In my iCould account everything works except Mail - that being contacts, calendar, reminders, etc.  When it comes to mail it is currently OFF.  When I turn it ON, it states that I need to create a NEW free iClound account, and allowing me to establish my existing account.
When I tried your solution, it stated that the account already exists but in reality it is not on my iPad.
    Any more thoughts?

  • How can I get My iCloud acct to work after changing my Apple ID?

I changed my Email on my Apple ID, now my iCloud is unable to be used, it keeps saying the ID is incorrect, and an old one does pop up, but going to settings to
Correct the info they need, it won't let me. Apple support told me my password would work on any ID, but an old one is all I can get to.

never mind, I was able to get it working.

  • Since moving to the cloud can't get .mac/.me mail to work in Outlook 2011

I get the following error repeatedly in Outlook 2011 for Mac since moving to icloud on Lion OSX.
Anyone know what settings will stop the errors - getting them every few minutes.
Outlook cannot find the server. Verify the server information is entered correctly in the Account Settings, and that your DNS settings in the Network pane of System Preferences are correct.

    Account name: "Mac"

    Hi
My server settings are as follows:
Username is the name without the "@mac.com"
    Password is my correct password
    Incoming server imap.mail.me.com
    Using default port (993)
Use SSL to connect (recommended) checked
Always use secure password is unchecked
    Outgoing server is smtp.mail.me.com
Override Default port is checked and set to 587
Use SSL to connect is checked
Have tried both Use incoming Server info
and Username and Password  (I get the same result with both)
This has been happening for days so it's not the server problems that were causing it.

  • HT4901 i can´t get the iCloud Calendars to work

I can not synchronize contacts and calendar, I turned them as it is described in the manual. but it does not work

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Contacts
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
    Calendars
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

Not by Apple... and that only helps for contacts or calendars - not "all the iCloud features that [he] had before on [his] ios device."
Thats why I specified for Contacts and for Calendars.
They are supported by the app develpor.
