In my house, we have have one three year old Mac that My Mom and I sync our iPhones to using iTunes(obviously) She only uses it to charge her phone and update her games, but I use iTunes for everything that is considered a feature. Since this iTunes 11 came out, only my Moms phone will even show up in the library, and I would like to get mine on as well, so I can sync all my files, help anyone?

ok, I removed ATV from the devices list on iTunes and also disconnected on ATV. I unplugged and restarted the ATV. I unplugged and restarted Airport. I went to ATV and chose connect to iTunes, got the passcode and ATV still does not appear in iTunes. ATV does not show up in iTunes preferences/devices list.
Any suggestions?

Can't get through one TV show purchased on iTunes without Homeshare timing out

My Apple TV is up to date, as well as my imac. Netflix is working pretty well now but it really bugs me that I can't get through a whole TV show that I purchased on iTunes without the Homeshare timing out. If I go to watch on my computer, it works fine. This is somthing between my computer and my Apple TV which is especially maddening because it all Apple! I have spent a lot of time on this and I am not a techie. very maddening - about to throw the darn thing in the trash!

It is likely an issue with your local network.

I can not get my iPhone 5s to sync to itunes on my computer

I just got a new iPhone5s. I am trying to hook it up to my computer to get my music onto my phone. The SYNC is grayed out. It says I need to download the itunes 11.1, and says to go to itunes.com. I went to the site and says I have downloaded it. I tried the same from my iPhone too, but says I have it. I'm confused!!

I just tried to set up sync with my wife's Verizon iPhone and noticed the same thing. When I first set it up iCal didn't seem to sync and there were duplicate calendars. I deleted the MobileMe acct from the iPhone and had computer replace MobileMe with a 'reset' from her MacBook air. The I recreated the MobileMe account for her email and syncing. Contacts seem to have synced but entering iCal events on the computer doesn't seem to push to the phone even with a forced manual sync and events on the phone don't go to the Air. When I enter an event on my AT&T iphone, I see the spinning indicator on my menubar for a wifi send, but nothing seems to happen with the Verizon phone.
Also, for some reason, the calendars area in the phone iCal only shows "Calendars" as the only calendar when the MacBook air has 3calendars - home, work, misc. I have turned calendar syncing on and off a few times on the phone and forced syncs from the Air and still no sync and the phone still doesn't see 3 calendars like it should.
I've given up for now an will troubleshoot more later. Since I have to go to the apple store tomorrow, might make a stop at genius bar.

I had the same problem and noticed a lot of different topics about it so i just posted it here....what i did was updated my itunes then rebooted my computer then updated my ipod and rebooted my computer then restored my ipod, disconnected it from the computer then plugged it back in and it worked! good luck hope this works for you

When I open the iTunes store all album artwork is a black box. This goes for all songs in my library as well as any song, album, movie that is displayed in the iTunes store. If I try to watch a movie trailer, I get the audio but not the video. This just started happening this week.

FOUND THE ANSWER!!
Apparently when you plug your iPhone in to your computer, Windows will "sometimes" install the drivers as a camera, putting them in the wrong place. This is why it will pop up in Windows so you can take photos off, but iTunes can't see it. SO, what you have to do is move the driver file (USBAAPL.SYS) to the correct location. Follow the directions I found below & your iTunes should be fixed (worked for me):
What works is to just force the drivers on what windows thinks is a camera, i.e. to ‘update’ the device to use the correct driver. There are some hints on how to do this already listed on this forum, but I’ll try to give some more detailed information:
1. First off you need to have iTunes installed and the ipod touch plugged in
and recognized as ‘something’ e.g. digital camera (it shouldn’t really
matter what it’s recognized as, but it needs to be found by windows).
2. Search for usbaapl in the C:\WINDOWS system folder:
o open windows explorer (e.g. Right-click Start and then click ‘explore’)
o right-click the WINDOWS folder and select ‘Search’).
o type in usbaapl and hit Search – try to ignore the dog!
You should find the driver info in a sub folder of
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE e.g. C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_A65621D65F5B7 507DD7B22331826547BDD2D206B
Remember that location (either leave the search box open or copy the folder
name into note pad – you’ll need it later)
If you don’t find usbaapl.sys, usbaapl.inf etc. then your drivers have not
been installed with the iTunes install and you’ll have to reinstall iTunes.
3. Locate the ipod-camera device:
o Open the device manager, e.g. using Start > Control Panel >
Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware Tab > Device Manager
o Look for a device called ‘ipod’ - if your ipod shows up as
‘digital camera’ it will be under something like ‘imaging devices’.
4. Update the driver:
o Right click the ‘ipod-camera’ in device manager and click on
‘Update Driver’ – the Hardware Update Wizard will open.
o Check the ‘Install from a list or specific location’ then click ‘Next’
o Check ‘Search for the best driver in these locations’. Un-check
‘Search removable media’ and check ‘Include this location in the search’.
In the text box below type (or better copy and paste) the folder
containing the ipod driver information found in step 1 (in the example
above it was C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_A65621D65F5B7 507DD7B22331826547BDD2D206B),
then click Next.
You should now see something like ‘Apple ipod device driver’ or so. Continue
installing that device. Once the driver has been installed the ipod will come
to life and iTunes (if you have it open) will show it.
If for some reason this doesn't work, try downloading the file here:

It's still not working. I went through every step and still can't get my Iphone to show up on my itunes.
Though I did find that the USB driver is not listed under any devices...

you know this is mac Pro forum, right? Okay, assuming you have synched up your iphone 5s with itunes, it will show up there under devices. If you double click on your hard drive, and look at the window that has opened up there, you will see past "Favorites", past 'Devices" there you will see "Shared" and there your iphone should show up." it will not appear on your desktop as a removeable storage device, at least that's been my experience

You will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to your computer (that will copy PDFs and epubs that are in the iBooks app, not just actual ibooks), and you can then sync them to your iPhone. Or you might be able to open each PDF in iBooks on your iPad and use the share icon to email them to yourself and then use 'open in' in the Mail app on your iPhone to copy them to its iBooks app (if the PDF is protected then you may not get the email option via the share icon).
The Settings > iBooks > Sync Collections setting doesn't copy items between devices, it just means that it a bookor PDF is on both devices and you move it into a collection on one device then it will be moved into the same collection on the other device
