I can't get my music from itunes to my ipod

I have been trying to sync my ipod to itunes to get my music and it doesn't do it.  I am new to IPODs so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  Any help would be appreciated.

You can't sync an iPod using Windows Media Player.  You need to add the songs to your iTunes library first, and then sync those songs to the iPod.
This document provides more information (Add to Library section)

NOTE:  The WMA files (the file type used by Window Media Player) need to be unprotected (no DRM).  They are converted to a format supported by iTunes while adding to the iTunes library.  This WMA conversion feature only works in the Windows version of iTunes (Mac users cannot do it).
I believe you can drag and drop the WMA files, or the folder containing the WMA files, onto the iTunes window.  The original WMA files are not changed.  iTunes creates its own converted files at the location it stores all the iTunes media files.

how can i get the music from itunes on my pc to transfer to my iphone?

The only supported method to get media onto an iDevice is via iTunes.  Read the User's Guide it will describe how to do this in detail.
iCloud does not put media on the device, but using iTunes Match and iCloud it is possible to have access to all media that exists on your computer, but only when the device has Internet access.  It will not load media onto the device.
Use of 3rd party tools to transfer files to the device is not supported.

You can sync it to your iPod by:
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.
You can also redownlaod iTunes purchases directly to the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Can't get my music from iTunes to iPod

Hi, I've never had any problems with my iPod until now. Each time I connect the USB cable into any of 6 ports the music will not transfer automatically from iTunes to the iPod. I can see no fault with the cable as it will actually charge the iPod but just not transfer the songs. Any help on this matter would be really, really appreciated

In case your iPod isn't recognized by iTunes take a look at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711 as well as at http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/

  • Can't get new music from iTunes to iPod

I currently have an iPod Touch.  Have downloaded the most current iTunes.  Have the latest software update for the iPod.  For numbers sake, I have 75 songs on the computer iTunes, 300 on the iPod.  Want to get music and playlists from iTunes onto iPod.  Have repeatedly tried syncing to no avail.  I don't want to erase everything off the iPod in order to do so.  Likewise, how the heck do I get the extra 225 songs from the iPod onto my iTunes??  All of the trouble started when I 1) added an iPhone into the mix and had multiple devices involved and 2) did the most recent iTunes update (which I HATE!!!!)
So how the heck do I do this??  I do not have a 7 year old in the household to tell me how to do this.

Transferring tracks from an iPod back to iTunes has been covered here a number of times already, but again:
First, you need to prevent automatic synchronzation with a blank copy of iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys in Windows. This should stop the iPod from auto synching with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 25 seconds depending on your computer.
Then if you're using iTunes 7, you can then copy music that you purchased from the iTunes Store back to iTunes directly (use the Transfer Purchases From iPod command under the iTunes File menu).
If you're not using iTunes 7 or want to copy back other tracks, the easiest way will be to search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your PC.
It's also possible to do this manually, but the procedure is rather involved. If you're interested, though, see this thread:
    MacMuse: Computer crashed
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't get the music from Itunes Store to my Ipod

I have just downloaded a couple of songs from Itunes, without any problems. But a problem occurs when i try to get it from my libery to my Ipod, it tells me that i didn't got kopied to my ipod because i do not have permission to play the subject on my computer.
How come ? And how do i fix it ?
It says "Explicit" in front of the songs i just downloaded can this have something to do with the fact that i can't get it to my Ipod ??
    Acer   Windows XP

Did you actually authorize your purchases by playing them for a few seconds on your computer prior to downloading to your iPod? "Explicit" has nothing to do with this issue. A song is flagged that way because of bad language or possibly being sexually explicit.

Or are you connecting to you computer? If the latter move the music from the Cloud to your iTunes library then sync to your iPod.

  • I can't get my music from iTunes to my iPad2.

Can anyone help? The satus bar at the bottom of iTunes shoes music is there but when I try to sync no music is transfered to my iPad. I have tried a restore and this didn't help.  Any advice?

Prior to IOS 5, the iPad was not a standalone device. It needed to be synced to iTunes. Now you can use it without a need for that. However, music cannot be transferred via the connection kit. If you have purchased songs you can load them from icloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
For unpurchased you will need iTunes to sync or iTunes match to put them in the cloud.
For the other question, are you receiving an error when you connect via USB?

  • Getting new music from iTunes library to iPod?

For the past week or so, my iPod hasn't been syncing correctly to my iTunes. I have too many songs on my iTunes to fit my iPod Touch (4th Gen.), so i uncheck the ones I don't want. However, the new songs that I've added from that's in my Recently Added playlist on my iTunes won't add onto my iPod. I've tried taking all of the music off my iPod and putting it back on, but it's like the iPod won't respond at all. Nothing changes when I change settings and new music, or even TV shows, can come on or off it. Idk what to do at this point. Help?

  • Can't get tv shows from itunes on my ipod

    PLEASE HELP!
I have iTunes 7, and I have a lot of episodes of The Office on it. When I plug in my video ipod, only a few episodes are loaded on, not all of them. Does anybody know what I should do to get all my episodes on my ipod?

Connect your iPod, then when the summary screen appears click on the TV shows tab.
You may have set your iPod to sync only unwatched episodes.
Change the preference to what suits you best.

  • How can I get my music from my Itunes library after I replaced my hard drive?

How can I get my music from my Itunes library (purchased and downloaded (CD)) after I replaced my hard drive?  Same account name.  My other computer see's old and new music.  Can purchace new songs.  They show up by themselves.  Can connect IPOD and old songs show up.  Seem's like they are defined as different accounts.

They will only be where you put them.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.
