I can't get my serial number accepted when attempting installation

My Elements 10 quit working so I purchased the Elements 12 ($150.00). In attempting to install, it won't accept the enclosed serial number (also called Redemption Code). To say the least, I'm pretty ticked off with Adobe.....I only used the Adobe Elements 10 package a year and suddenly it's useless. I called your service dept., got a "foreign speaking" person who told me he could "fix it" for $150.00. What's next.....do you now want me to "buy" another serial number?

The easiest way to find your serial number is this Open Itunes...click help... run diagnostics.....(tick or untick as necessary) so that you just have ticked the last two, device connectivity and device sync. run these tests. it will say no ipod/ipad found but will give results of test....scroll down to bottom of results... here you will find the serial number of your last attached devices.

There is no serial number and you don't need one. What you need for a subscription is to SIGN IN within Acrobat, so it knows the subscriptions you own.

In addition to what Lutz said, unless you buy a CS5 that is still new and unused, you will need a licence transfer through Adobe,

Thanks for replying, Jim. I wasn't planning to use it for raw images. I shoot film, black and white, and have many negatives I want to print. I am unfamiliar with the upgrades in Lightroom. I wasn't unhappy with the version I have. It was useful for my purposes.
Because it was a few years ago, I don't remember if I registered the product. I was able to login to my account. But could not find a path to communicate with Adobe. I will keep trying.

OK . . I'll apologize up front for being crabby. . . but I paid several hundred dollars to buy CS6 back in December of 2013. . . and I have YET to get it installed on my computer. Why you ask?????? because I can't get the serial number.
I bought it online - I got my product code, I went through the whole identit-e process my "eligibility verification request" was approved . . .I have a redemption code . . . . I have managed to download the software, but I cannot get it to install because I don't have the serial number. . .
I tried typing in my redemption code and it says it was already used by another Adobe ID. . . maybe I did do that some time and apparently DIDN'T write down the serial code (usually I'm pretty good about doing that stuff), I can't remember at this point.
BUT - as I said, I paid several hundred dollars for this program and I'd jolly well like to be able to use it.
I posted to a forum once before and was directed to go to the redemption code website - which I'm sorry to say is NO HELP WHATSOEVER because I've already been there - it tells me the code's already been "redeemed" so it won't let me do anything - I need actual customer service. Is there any place to find the original serial number other than "the sheet in the box". My original is v 1.1 (now running 2.x) & I'm double stuck - trying to migrate to a new PowerBook and upgrade to 3.0 - both tasks needing the original serial number. The box is long gone (first installed aperture at least 3 years ago) and serial recorded in my personal log has transposed or dropped digits - i.e. corrupted. The option to get a replacement serial from Apple is a long shot as well - only "proof" of purchase is that I have the original disk and the original user manual. Can't remember which store I bought it at nor would they have records that old. There has got to be some way to decrypt it from the various system files (preferences and application support)- any suggestions?
