I can't get past the initializing installer part. It doesn't load whatsoever.
I double click the icon to begin installation and a window pops up that says Adobe Installer. It doesn't move at all and I have tried different wifis, disabling adblocker etc and nothing works.

I recommend you contact AT&T's dedicated BB Support staff (call their front line, request escalation to BB Support) and have them check to be sure that your account with them is correctly configured for this device. Sometimes when switching devices things don't fully automatically move behind the scenes, and only they (ATT) can validate that.

Can anybody out there tell me how to update a MacBook with OS 10.5.4, to at least OS 10.6.6 ? When trying to update from the

Can't get past the initial "Slide to Setup" screen on iPhone 5c
My new Virgin Mobile iPhone 5c arrived a little while ago, and I've gotten as far as installing the SIM card and am now stuck. The multilingual "Hello/Slide to Setup" screen won't go away. I slide, and a voice says "Hello. Slide to setup" (or one of the non-English variants) and nothing happens. Am I oblivious to something? Please help.

AE CS6 can't get past the "Mediacore Initializing" window
I just installed Mountain Lion on my 12-core Mac Pro, did a clean install of CS6 Master Collection and still can't get past the "Mediacore Initializing" window. All the other CS6 apps are working fine and I don't have any plug-ins installed as of now.
Also, After Effects CS6 with Mountain Lion is working just fine on my MacBook Pro so I'm wondering if Mountain Lion is really the cause or not.
I've tried are throwing out the preference files, but that didn't do anything either. Furthermore, I still have CS5.5 on my computer and After Effects gets stuck in the same place with that version, as well.
If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

I cannot get past the initial screen on my new iMac. Data was transferred from my old computer so when I turned it on It automatically had my name in the window and asked for the password, but none of my old passwords seem to be accepted. How can I fix this?? It's a new IMac with osx.
Which password isn't working? The one to access the iPad or the one to get your hotmail?
If hot mail, you go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and edit your hot mail account. Of if it won't edit, delete it off the iPad, then re-add it with the new password. -
I just attempted to update my apple iTunes to 11.1.4 which resulted in the msvcr80.dll error message. I followed all of the instructions to move the .dll's to the desktop, I removed iTunes via the control panel, and now I can't get past the Service 'Apple Mobile Divice failed to start. Verify that you have sufficent privilidges to start systems services. I now have no iTunes on my laptop, can't reinstall iTunes, and I am pulling my hair out because I can not figure out how to send an e-mail to Apple because I bought my iPad just over a year ago. PLEASE HELP!!!

Rebooting old mac g5: Can't get past the grey screen.
This problem concerns an old mac g5 that I had replaced three years ago because it hadn't been working properly. I am getting it out because my son needs a computer and I was hoping that the thing would work for a little while.
I can't get past the grey apple screen. I have the installation disc in and restart while pressing the c. I just am not getting any further than that. The fans begin to sound like a jet taking off. I have tried resetting the pram while starting up, but that doesn't seem to be working either. I have heard about a hair dryer trick and don't really know what is supposed to get warmed up by that.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.No hair dryer. What you need to do is make sure the PRAM battery is new. It is a coin shaped battery on the logic board. Radio Shack sells them.
Option key booting sometimes works. You have to us a Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.4.6 retail disc, which are black with a white X logo, and do not say Update Dropin or OEM on them. If you have the original iMac G5 disc that's fine, but web browsing with older operating systems is not very friendly. Some of these machines were known to have leaky capacitors, and getting the power supply replaced on them now would be quite hard because of the age.

From what I gather, you have a payment method selected for your iTunes Store account which isn’t being accepted when setting up Family Sharing.
Take a look at the he article linked below provides, which provides a lot of great information about Family Sharing, and make sure you're trying to use a valid payment method for setting up Family Sharing.

One adult in the family—the family organizer—can set up Family Sharing for the group from their iOS device or Mac. When you set up Family Sharing, you'll be asked to confirm that you agree to pay for purchases initiated by the family members you invite and that you have a valid payment method on file. On my wife's iPad mini I can't get past the screens accepting the software license to upgrade iOS over WiFi.
Works if I do it over iTunes on my desktop.
I get the screens to agree to the software license (twice) then it sits there until I get impatient. like 30-60 seconds. Have tried a hard boot but have to connect it to the computer each time. Latest was when I upgraded to 8.2Solving the iTunes Installation Problems in Windows

Can't get past the white screen at start up
I can not get past the white screen when it starts up. It will chime and then stay at the white screen. I have replaced the hard drive, memory, battery. I have reset the PRAM and the SMC.
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/. -

Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. What caused you to get the impression that I was writing something else? furthermore this sentence - "The solution you described in your initial message isn't actually once since all the time you were operating on different account that weren't actually linked" does not make sense, I think you mis-edited it.and I need to point out that you are incorrect. I WAS NOT OPERATING ON DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS I WAS OPERATING ON ONE SKYPE ACCOUNT, THAT WAS CREATED USING A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT just like you say you recommend. I still don't know how you can misread my initial entry like that. I can't get past the Gray apple screen during start-up Help!!!
I went to open my system pref. folder and when it wouldnt open I restarted it and now I can't get past the first screen of the Gray screen with the apple in the middle and the little spinning circle under it. Can anyone help me? have had several problems with this computer!!! I just had to have a whole new harddrive put in about a month ago.

The first thing to do would be to boot from your original Disk 1 by:
1. Inserting the disc, pressing the power button, and immediately after the startup chime, press and hold the C key until you see the spinning gear icon appear on the grey splash screen.
2. After the machine has booted, pick your language, and when the Installer window appears, do not press Continue, but go to the Utilities menu in the menubar and open Disk Utility.
3. In Disk Utility, choose your normal startup volume in the pane on the left and then click Repair Disk. If any errors show in the window, run Repair Disk again until you see 'The volume appears to be OK' in green.
4. Quit Disk Utility, quit the installer and attempt to restart into your regular startup volume.
Please update your profile so we have a clearer picture of your particular machine.

I can't get past the grey apple screen using mavericks
I can't get past the grey apple screen trying to boot up with Mavericks. I had been using Mavericks for about a month (only had issues of freezing occasionally). I read in one of the posts here that I should try holding command R down when booting. I did now I just get a grey screen without the apple. Any advise?

It sounds like the initial install of Mavericks went ok, and you have been using it for a while, but now cannot boot to your desktop and are stuck at a gray screen with an Apple logo. I would recommend a couple of things here:
First, try performing a Safe Boot to see if that will load up for you. If so then leave Safe Boot and restart from the Apple menu to try and get to your deskop:
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), follow these steps.
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
After the logo appears, you should see a progress bar during startup. This indicates that your computer is performing a directory check as part of Safe Mode.
To leave Safe Mode, restart your computer without holding any keys during startup.

(Most of the files in the list have aliases in a DamagedFiles folder at the top level of your disk.)
If Disk Utility can’t repair your disk or it reports “The underlying task reported failure,” try to repair the disk or partition again. If that doesn’t work, back up as much of your data as possible, reformat the disk, reinstall Mac OS X, and then restore your backed-up data.If you continue to have problems with your disk, it may be physically damaged and need to be replaced.
