I can't get .pdf's to show in Safari

I know that Safari is supposed to show .pdf's automatically.
When I open up a .pdf now it just shows the adobe icon on a grey screen. Every support article I read states that this isn't normal and then doesn't tell me how to fix it.
Any ideas?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Do you have the latest version of Adobe Reader?
If you want to use Preview to view PDF's online, open Adobe Reader and select Adobe Reader>Preferences...>Internet>Web Browser Options> and uncheck Display PDF in browser using: Adobe Reader.

How can I get my POP account showing in the inbox it's supposed to show in?

Hi-Until a couple of weeks ago all mail received from my IMAP and POP accounts would show up in the correct mailboxes in my Mail inbox list. (Only problem then was that sent mail would never show up in the sent mail folder--always stayed in the inbox.)
Now a new problem has happened----unless I go directly to my charter cable account (P0P account) to retrieve any mail sent to that particular address, the mail goes unnoticed by Mail on my MAC and nothing shows up in the inbox. But--- If I do a test to myself , sending an email to the POP address from my IMAP account from my MAcMAil, my IMAP account will show the email in the inbox of the IMAP account I sent it from as if I'd mailed it to that account. How can I get my POP account showing in the Inbox? And, any suggestions for a fix to getting the "sent" mail to show in the "sent" folder would also be appreciated.

How can I get my library to show on a different computer?

My own laptop is broken. I can use another laptop to access my iTunes account. That laptop already has its own iTunes account, but that doesn't have all my songs on, so I'd like to access my own iTunes library. I can sign in to iTunes on this laptop, I have authorised this laptop for my account, but i still can't get my library to show up on here. I can get my library to show up on my iPad mini, but i can't sync to my daughter's iPod nano as there are enough songs in my library to fill an iPod Classic. I don't think i can sync from an iPad mini anyway? Is there any way that I can either check certain songs on my iPad mini, but not all of them, so that i can sync my daughter's iPod nano on my iPad mini, or that I can get my own library to show up on this laptop rather than the other, pre-existing library?

What specific information would you need? The program was working just fine early yesterday morning and than when I came back in the afternoon to edit some more pictures that is when I wasn't able to see the full image anymore. It is providing me with all of the editing options as if the picture is there but it is just a blank screen with the thumbnail pic showing in the right panel.

Can't get a hole to show up in this shape! Advice?

I'm using Illustrator CS5 on Vista 64.
I've been using Illustrator for years, but this one thing always stumps me. I have a shape (the letter R) that I need to put a hole in. It is made of a photo trimmed into a compound shape. In the Pathfinder tool I can't get the Expand option to activate.

I have tried everything I can think of and can't get the hole to show up! I'm sure it must be obvious, but what am I missing?? I've been trying to use the Pathfinder tool; I need to learn to retain this trick. *sheesh*

You don't need to lock the image first, but it can aid in not selecting it for a bit.
Lock the image.
Create a rectangle covering the whole image.
Place the shape, or text, for the hole you want onto the image.
If text, make it an outline.
Select both shapes or the rectangle that is over the entire image and the object you want to produce the "hole" in the image with and make a Compound Path (Object > Compound Path > Make or Cmd+8 or Ctrl+8).
Unlock the image and select both the image and the compound path, then make a mask (Object > Clipping Mask > Make or Cmd+7 or Ctrl+7).

Also try turning Off Face Time
Open Face Time
Go to the Preferences
Set it to Off.
Also make sure your router has the Time and Date/Time Zone set as this upsets Face Time which in turn upsets IChat

You don't need them stored locally for a backup. You can manually export your contacts as archive for backup. Also, if you are backing up with Time Machine, you already have a backup. If your hard drive crashed, you would have to rely on your backup or iCloud anyway.
So, if you're comfortable with that, sign out of iCloud. Choose to delete contacts from the computer. When you sign back into iCloud, you should only have iCloud contacts listed in AB. When you open iCal, you should only have one listing for birthdays.
The other alternative is to disable the Birthday c.alendar and create one manually.

you know this is mac Pro forum, right? Okay, assuming you have synched up your iphone 5s with itunes, it will show up there under devices. If you double click on your hard drive, and look at the window that has opened up there, you will see past "Favorites", past 'Devices" there you will see "Shared" and there your iphone should show up." it will not appear on your desktop as a removeable storage device, at least that's been my experience
