Hello. I have AV player hd. When I touch and hold the Quicktime icon that is in a received mail message, a prompt comes up "Open in AVPlayerHD". I click on that and a black screen opens up with the following on it:
1--A red line at the top with a short white slider button on the right hand side. There is a time listed at each end of the red line that says 00:00
2--On the left hand side of the screen, near the middle, there are 4 icons, a colored 'x', a dialogue icon, a circular arrow and an 'i' in a circle.
3--On the right hand side there is a + and a - sign with '1.00x' in the middle of the two.
4--At the bottom of the black screen is a play icon plus forward and fast forward icons.
When I press the play icon it changes to a stop icon.
So, even though I have AV player I cannot play this Quicktime slideshow.

How can i get my mail app to sync from my mac to iphone? i dont have the 'info' option in itunes!
I have created files within the mail app and want them to be the same on my mac and iphone.You need a mail server that supports this then. Hotmail premium I believe does, but the free version does not. Gmail supports it, and any ISP that offers IMAP supports this capability. iCloud definitely supports it, so if you create a free iCloud email account and switch your primary email to it you would have this capability.

I can assume that you're using IE11, and probably with Windows 8.1.
This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in. -
Can't get quick time to work with windows thumbnail
When I purchased a new camera, unlike my old camera that saved files as .avi and which allowed me to use the files with all software and which allowed me to view automatically the thumbnails for the .avi file, my new camera used the garbage .mov from apple. Result: i can't see what the files contains... NO thumbnails in windows! I was told to buy QUick time Pro to be apple to do this. I did what the quicktime "help" (misnomer) said to do: set poster frame, resave the file (try to save it as is, or as quick time mover). THIS DIDN'T WORKED. There was Ø supplementary information. The only thing that works is MANUALLY converting all my .mov from the camera to .avi using quicktime pro. I paid CAD$39 FOR absolutely NOTHING. Any suggestions?

After you've been through and tried everything there is to try, and still have problems, please post back with specific info about exactly what you've tried, what version of Windows 7 you have (32-bit or 64-bit), etc.

I use pages to draft forms that i repeatedly edit and use in my business. Ex: letterhead, envelopes, and legal forms. I recently drafted a legal form
for a client. saved it and then reopened and printed the next day. now when i try to open that form, ( or letterhead or envelope) i get a message that
it wont open and that i need a newer version of pages. but my pages software is up to date. Whats up with this??You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Every now and then I will come back to my computer and see a message saying that something is preventing Firefox from updating correctly, am I sure that I have got the latest version.
Included in the message box is a link to www.firefox.com, when I click on the link I get a page with various downloads and a message saying that my Firefox is up to date.This issue can be caused by the presence of leftover files in the Firefox program folder (defaults\pref) like a file firefox.js that overrides the update URL with a wrong link.
Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder to remove the file(s) that cause the problem.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I made an in-app. purchase using an advertisment banner but did not receive what was advertised, I would not have made the purchase otherwise and did not receive what was advertised. My question is, am I entitled to a refund..and if so how do I go about it? I DO wish to purchase according to the banner displayed but feel I should be refunded so I can purchase again so I get the advertised items. My purchase cost $51.99 so I am more than annoyed that I did not get what was advertised and will not purchase again if my money has been wasted with no recourse.

I use Windows Vista - I read other questions and none seem to have the above problem codes - Help please. I tunes seems to be OK, but once Ipod plugged in, this is when I tunes states it is not working and program has to be closed. Help please.First, plug off your iPod.
Then uninstall iTunes + all of Apple services (google them).
Restart the PC.
Install iTunes.

How do I get Quick Time to work on my computer again?
Apparently I am old and a dummy and it seems I accidentally uninstalled Quick Time from my computer instead of uninstalling something else that I was intending to uninstall. How can I get Quick Time back? I've tried the download from the apple.com site, but it never shows up in a file other than some binary file and I don't have the option to "run" after download, just save to this binary file. Welcome to the Support Communities! First of all, you are not old or a dummy. I'm sure you can give me hundreds of examples of things you can do because of your knowledge and experience, so give yourself a break . I just want to clarify .... are you using a Windows computer or a Mac? I'm going to assume Windows and include an article for you that will explain how to delete the iTunes application and all of it's components (because Quicktime is tied to this program). This will not affect your iTunes library, only the application itself. Once that is done, you should be able to work with Quicktime again.

Buffer Override and Can't uninstall Quick time
I just upgraded to Quick Time Pro for $32.00 and can't get quick time or itunes to open. I tryed to uninstall Quick Time but it says error and can't uninstall. I get a Buffer Override when trying to open. I believe that I just got ripped off for $32.00. Apple must be short of money and ripping us off.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. See notes 1 & 3 below the box in particular, and include the ..\Program Files\QuickTime folder in the removal process.
Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I have moved from Comcast to Uverse, and can't get my TIme Capsule to stop blinking yellow. I know it isn't updating. Additionally, I can't get my computer to recognize the 'new' wireless network. It keeps changing back to the 'old' network.
You have two separate issues here. although both were created with the recent changes on your network.
Find out why the Time Capsule is blinking amber as follows:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click directly on the the Time Capsule icon
Click directly on the amber dot....and another window will open to explain more about the issue...along with suggested actions that you can take to remedy the issue.
If you want your Mac to connect first to the "new" network....
Open System Preferences (gear icon) on the dock
Open Network
Click on WiFi on the left
Click Advanced at the lower right
Make sure that the name of the network that you want the Mac to connect to first appears at the top of the connection order list. Drag the name to the top if it is not there now.
Click OK
Click Apply
Now your Mac will attemp to connect first to the network that you positioned at the top of the connection order list.
