I CAN'T GET RID OF QUICK TIME 6.5 ON A WINDOWS XP/HOME COMPUTER

I have a Mac at work with a T-4 trunk line so I sometimes use QT. But, since my genealogy program only works with Windows, I have a Win XP/Home at home using dial-up. As soon as I bought this computer, I downloaded QT 6.5 not realizing that I couldn't use it. I understand there are security flaws and I want to remove it.
Under Add or Remove Programs, there is no mention of Quick Time or Apple. I downloaded Windows Install Clean Up and neither QT nor Apple is listed. When I go to Start>All Programs>Quick Time, there are 4 options: 1). QT Player, 2). QT Read Me, 3). QT Updater and 4). Picture Viewer. The only place I can find Quick Time is in my Control Panel between Program Updates and Regional Language Options. There is the QT icon.
I can't believe that Apple would not include an un-installer. Rather than spend 4+ hours downloading a newer update (and not sure if it would un-install the older version) and not being able to use it anyway, I just want to get QT 6.5 off my Windows computer.

Hello thehordepvp, type %appdata% in Run dialog box and delete the Mix Dj folder if exist.
then try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/searchreset/ SearchReset add-on], the add-on backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself.

I strongly recommend that you install iTunes to the default C: paths. You can change the perferences to keep the actual music files on your D: partition.

How can I get rid of firefox, and the download everytime i go to home page

Firfox Setup Stub 32.0 exe, automatically downloads itself every time I go to the my home page. Why? I don't use firefox, I like Chrome. I have downloaded FF before, just to try to get rid of the annoying download page

Have you set the Firefox download page as the home page in Chrome? It can happen by accident. You should be able to set it back to the default in the Chrome settings. Here's how to set the home page in Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95314?hl=en
Btw, if you've stopped using Firefox a while ago, it has gotten much faster and more lightweight recently. You might want to give it another try.

Can't get rid of annoying electronic voice after opening new windows.

The kids were playing around w/computer. The only way I can get rid of the electronic voice is selecting "Mute" I tried going into system preferences and speech but had no luck.

If you don't have iTunes you will need to buy the song from the iTunes store and download it that way. If it is a custom track you may be out of luck. The only way to get a song on your device without iTunes involves jailbreaking it.

I'm already in another forum with a eerily similar question, but that's for the HP Media Center Pavilion m8000e desktop system (Windows Vista Home Premium) I was just given; I've ordered a new hard drive for that. I assume the directions to create a boot disk with the *.iso file (using Imgburn) is going to work; I have the 25-digit code for that.
This question here now is for my wife's older Compaq P2500 2596US laptop running Windows XP Home Edition. This too needs a new hard drive, but I also am missing the boot disc for this; I do have the 25-digit product code.
How can I get a boot disk for this laptop? I tried the Ubuntu method outlined in a few posts; geez, what a headache ... never could get it managed. Does HP not make any boot disks available? Microsoft told me to check with HP.
I can furnish the product code; model #; serial# ... gee, maybe the oroginal receipt is even laying around somewhere ...
I need a boot disk to get the new hard drive up on board (if I end up ordering that).

Can't get rid of a time event on iCal; it's there on everyday

Made some schedules for the month but when I go to print, there's this "8:00PM" time on everyday. I don't know where that came from and I can't figure out how to eliminate it.
It also shows up on a NEW calendar too! (It shows only when printing in all instances)
It even shows up when I share calendar and it's opened up by someone else.
Can anyone please help?

How can I get an HD Quick Time file to play on a PC?

I recently finished an HD program. It looks beautiful when played from a QT file on my MacBook pro and projected. My client has a PC (Windows XP). He couldn't get the QT file to play. After updating to QT7.3, he was only able to get the audio. He is able to get an Standard Def QT of the same program to play. So many of my clients use computers to give their presentations. At this point, it really makes more sense for them play them from QT files versus DVDs which are not only unreliable but have to be downconverted to Standard Def. Any suggestions appreciated!

That's the problem with Windows machines, just not compatible with the rest of the world.
Most PCs, even with QT installed, have issues viewing the INDUSTRY STANDARD H.264. There are other codecs that work...that you have to buy, but they work. Sheer Codecs by BitJaz.

That problem has nothing to do with format settings. It is a burn-in, which is set in the view settings (timeline panel), and also you can deactivate in the render settings.

Suddenly there was a portal site named "myv9" or "V9" on the screen when I started Firefox the other day. It contains a lot of icons for programs like Facebook, Google and so on. Nearly all the other icons (except Facebook and some others) lead to specific US sites that I never visit (for example the weather forecast for North America) , because I live in Sweden. Even if it doesn´t harm my computer, I am afraid that it will slow it down, and, besides, it needs an extra click to get to Google.

We can't get rid of the last beginning tab at a website.

I am not sure I understand the your description of the problem.
Possibly the issue is the fact that you are always left with one tab and can not get rid of the last tab in a Firefox Window. That is now the expected behaviour. It is not possible to easily disable tabbed browsing.
As ever Firefox is highly customisable and addons have been developed to change this behaviour so that Firefox is more like older versions
